Glad I didn’t lay Aus. I was very tempted even by 2.3 or so but just had a niggling feeling that the Indian batting might perform as it did in England.

It’s 41/4 and while the bowling has been good, it’s really not done very much, especially for the four wickets.

Pujara displayed a masterful farming of the strike at Southampton in the summer, going to need that again India/draw backers.

I thought the game started tonight!
Good at numbers but not at calender's. I guess some of you young un's don't remember the cudos of a day date watch! I digress. Dodged a bullet. Wanted to lay Aus and would have done even though they have a fantastic 4 man bowling attack in Aus. Quite possibly the best in the World. I think the sheite Aussie batsmen are batting at home so their uselessness is diluted by pitch familiarity. They may come a cropper as the series progresses. I don't want to say it but I am thinking Aussie in the box seat here. Not sure how India come back. The pitch should be at it's best tomorrow. India will bat when the wicket is freshest then Aussie should make hay. Going to watch tonight. Been looking forward to this series a long time. Cummins won't be an all time great because of earlier injuries but a wonderful bowler nonetheless and Starc too. Having a fit Hazelwood bowling 88mph is a huge bonus. Can anyone tell me did any batters go after Lyon? Who were the sixes hit off? India need to go after Lyon and Head but need to bat 140 overs to ground and pound. I like the fact Sharma is playing, shame about Shaw but the big miss was Dharwan. I am a huge fan of both Murali Vijay in Test Cricket and Lokesh Rahul but I think I would open in Aus with Dharwan and Shaw. I still remember being on a course on London early morning watching cricinfo on my pc and the Course Instructor asked me out loud if I would like to share with the class what was so interesting so I told him and the class in great detail how Virender Sehwag just scored the fastest Double Century in Test Cricket History. He wished he never asked. I digress. I think I am out. Might have a cheeky India back in the hope of new ball wickets but really don't expect Aus to fcek it up. I think the way forward is to lay the batting side in this series. Not sure why Bhuvi is not playing either. If it weren't for the bowlers this would be the worst Aussie side since Kerry Packer! |

Guys, I believe Rohit Sharma wanted to out as there was no sense of playing that shot after 6. What do you think?

"Who were the sixes hit off?"
They were spread out 2 off Starc, 2 off Cummins, 2 off Lyon, 1 off Hazelwood....Rohit Sharma tried to go after Lyon and after hitting one 6 tried for another next ball OUT!....mindless.........5 of Indias's 1st six wickets were soft or worse. The ball was not doing alot though Aus never bowled badly. No excessive seam movement, hardly any spin. |

I think 250 might turn out to be a par score and India will have them all out by the end of the day. Bumrah is world class and can extract wickets on any surface. There's enough turn for Ashwin to pitch in with a few.
