As we type puddles forming everywhere http://weatherstation.lccc.co.uk/ on a ground I heard has had pop concerts on it recently, plenty more rain to come and no sign of any human beings working the night shift.

Met office has been appalling this game. How unbelievably consistantly wrong can it be? Bet it will be sunny all day on Tuesday.

People want more precision and accuracy, and I'm afraid you can't have both.

The rain hasn't been particularly helpful in test matches recently. Both deluges in this series have not shifted the odds one iota.

I'm doing pretty well overall, considering I've been setting up for rain in both series at certain times.
Burnt a lot of green but still making decent profits. Just need to hit that weather play flush in the face for a massive win. Something that isn't priced into the market would be nice. I'm out of this game, weather looks fine for today, i'm sure they will get the ground ready, tomorrow looks better now too. I'll wait and see if something pop up worth trading. I definitely won't be backing SA to get these runs. |

I've won every test this series and can't actually recall my last loss (although I'm sure that's partly that there haven't been many tests recently and I'm getting old) but I've frittered it all away with other things. Back end of last football season and start of this have both been frightful and the less said about CMM the better.

On a slightly different note, Moeen Ali must have single handedly cost me enough money to choke a dozen donkeys in the last few years.
He seems to perform or non perform completely opposite to my trade every single fcuking time, batting and bowling In a purely sporting context, I absolutely hate him ![]() |

Without a wet outfield, this match is going to a result.
I think they will start on time with about 4 hours to cleanup, but bad experiences with wet outfields means I have greened up for a small profit. |

Draw gradually working it's way upwards. I'm taking half my red off and will reassess in the morning with still an enormous draw green to think of. I may hope for better from it.

Does require rather a lot for the draw assuming start on time: England to bat on for a while; SA to last what would have to be over 2 sessions, you'd think; rain day 5, probably all of it.
Also worth bearing in mind they should try to make some time up tomorrow. Those wickets when SA looked to be grinding it out fairly well yesterday just after I thought they were grinding it out fairly well and I should take some red off really did me in. |

Just need to hit that weather play flush in the face for a massive win.
The Aus tour of Bangladesh is going ahead, and we might get a juicy weather play. |

I am taking a gamble here laying England. The outfield might well be an issue. Eng players were warned about it even before the test match. And it looks like there will be plenty of overnight rain. Will bail out early if thats not the case.
Just looked at some history. Eng India game in 2014 had a whole day abandoned just because of one heavy shower. The reasons werent completely related to the drainage though as the groundstaff messed up the cleanup operation. No new drainage system since then. I think there might be hope play doesnt start on time. |

yeah ive been looking at that too.

SOmebody needs to go down to the ground and turn those puddles into mud
That's where the umps get worried, like the SA v Ind game |
|
By:
Ive been monitoring it for an hour. Theres a couple of ouddles that have started to form left side of the covers. one of them looks naasty.i have no clue though of how bad a ouddle has to be to affect play. On an already abused outfield, there is a chance it could.

sorry still typing with the left hand.

dt, the problem with a wet outfield, is anyone in the know will clean up at the expense of those who aren't.
|
|
By:
from 2-6am today, it will rain 90-95%.
|
|
By:
That's the probabiity. The bigger question, as always, is how much :)
|
|
By:
apparently its pouring
|
|
By:
has the draw shortened at the expense of SA price in the last couple of hours? Or stagnant? I was looking at Eng price only which hasnt changed at all.

I think you are only wasting your time monitoring the rain right now. Its gonna come down to those puddles and if the outfield is ready.
