Market seems pretty much to have expected this all along. To be fair, hard to find any alternative explanations for draw's availability under 2s with Australia 6/2 or whatever it was at that point.

With the very low temps and lack of sun, any chance of a delay tomorrow?

By:
jucel69
When: 12 Nov 16 21:27
I can imagine some draw panic as a lot of punters don't even check weather forecasts. Add to that the forecast never materialised yesterday and you could see a decent plunge.

Some light rain overnight forecast, but I think a wet outfield Monday unlikely. But only the groundsman really knows.

How low do you see the draw, if today is a washout?

I haven't got a clue! Interesting to see as a whole day of rain often sees massive movements!

there are weather warnings for localised flooding and structural damage from high winds, god knows how low the draw can go !

Slightly tough one to call as the draw price already clearly reflects a very high expectation of rain today. It would be at 15s or so with a clear forecast, I'd estimate. Still, the reality of it hammering it down all day seems almost bound to move the market, at least a little. I've bought in a reasonable amount of it and am risking going slightly red even on SA with a final order hoping I can start laying off somewhere in the high 3s perhaps right down to 3. Worth saying that even with showers tomorrow costing a session total and the pitch flattening out, a draw seems pretty unlikely with the game so far advanced. Australia would have to bat five sessions or more, even before you account for making time up and then SA could still lose 15 wickets themselves in the rest of the time to lose themselves. I can't see a draw without a lot of lost time tomorrow too, which seems like it would need a lot of water logging. I don't know enough about Hobart to know how likely that is but seems unlikely even with a load of rain, because the water table won't be high and the ground staff aren't West Indian or South African. I'm not risking going £5k red on draw this time though.

I'm thinking the draw around 3 this afternoon, with probably a spike down into the 2s at some point.

i cant see a draw at all, no way, not with at least 2 and a half days play left, but at the moment i'm trying to trade this weather, i've backed the draw at 4.3 quite big after trading it for small amounts all day. i'm looking to lay it at around 3.7.

That's what I've done, minus the playing around all day, which on reflection is a bit inept of me, although good for you as you'd not have done so well with competition. I've got a 3.8 lay in and like you, don't really believe it will go as low as 3, although I will set up lays at 3 and a bit below in addition to several in the 3s and risk going pretty red on the draw if they get taken.

You can never write them off, but SA look firm favourites to me.
If Warner fails 2nd dig then it's game over.
De K could easily blast another 50/60 with the tail and then Aus will really be behind the 8 ball.
Be interesting to see how the pitch plays after a days rain! Could be juicy!!
