Australia alost as likely to win as the draw?

Bowl them out for a rrr of 3.2 or less and I'd say so. Would depend on Warner more than anything.

I dont think it is pointless! I think they are grinding Aus down. three test series!

but yes they could have a dart

looks like they are going to bat beyond lunch too! I am happy with that from a betting pov!

definitely will be batting after lunch

after a great fightback why would you not give yourself the best opportunity to win the test? never ceases to amaze me just how negative an approach SA can have.

batting looks pretty easy at the moment. Aus could be 200-2 before the end of play then who would be favourites to win the match?

Aus were 158/0 off 35 overs in the first dig with Steyn!

You've got this utterly wrong. With three bowlers SA clearly tactically correct to bat well past lunch. Aus probably won't shut up shop anyway and it's only once the lead gets past 500 with under 5 sessions left that you'd think Aus might not win just by batting through normally. Grind them down. Benefits later in the series too. I like an aggressive declaration but not with this much time left and definitely not with three bowlers, one a debutant.

I don't think Aus can win now!  all this toiling in the field will have a physical & psychological effect on them!....Marshy is an opener and has been fielding close up squatting up and down, I would be on unders with him if I was into side markets.

45 to an hour I guess!

I would love to see the draw drop to 4

Still need Aus to go off the scale. Can't believe they are still so short!

Got a reflex draw back in at 5.8, lay at 5.4. Draw trading as low as it has all game now, pretty much. Not sure how much the market has priced in that SA will just keep batting if not all out. Could go under 4s if still going a few overs after lunch? I'm going to sleep now hoping for an all green screen and Aus 5 down when I wake up.

still need to take 10 wickets, a few overs before lunch would have been a nightmare for oz to face but if you are worried about warner teeing off and being on the backfoot with a scenario like u say then by all means keep batting and batting. they could have put the foot down an hour ago. SA team have choked on a few occasions and think that stems from a mindset of this type of approach of not losing first and foremost. if oz get out of this with a draw, it will feel like a win now. great fightback from SA all the same, shame not to convert it.

Foot down an hour ago? They were 6 down man! If you get bowled out there and set under 3 rpo you've got it badly wrong. .

and lets not forget, Philander has been batting for 135+ deliveries. Not the freshest of the 3 bowlers and he's vital to SA winningchances.

50/0 off 10 and Aus will be 5s
