Terminal stupidity by Middlesex for the last 50 minutes - just give them the runss. A Yorkshire team that has to chase any target tomorrow is much better for them than one that can bat out for a draw at no cost to themselves.

I don't think that would have been a satisfactory way for the championship to be won plus we wouldn't have had this entertainmant and drama, the Middlsex seamers have done very well but must be knackered, I don't see Middlesex scoring quickly.

but surely chances are there'll be some sort of contrived finish anyway. if yorkshire don't get early and even if they do we've seen how hard it is to get people out when the ball goes soft. will be in both sides interests to cook something up

quite possibly, but if we hadn't lost time or don't lose much more then a natural finish was/is very possible or failing that a game of brinkmanship would be preferable to them cooking something up last night.

Middlesex should have won it last week, but were negative, Franklyn isn't a good captain, I'd much rather Somerset won it than Middlesex, Bairstow decision hasn't helped either.

Actually the decision that hasn't helped was the one that adjudged Bresnan (incorrectly) not out lbw first ball.

Yorkshire can just let Middx come to them. No need for any deal as yet. Maybe later perhaps.
Middx will have to force it at some stage and that will bring wickets I would think. Is it true Rashid CHOSE to sit this one out? Incredible if true. |
