yep time starting to run out. almost into the last 4 sessions
any bad light tomorrow afternoon could mess up both sides chances |
By:
If was Franklin I would be begging for a deal right now but he won't get it.
Yorkies will look to bowl out Middx in 60 overs in which case they will win unless the weather intervenes. If Middx are 100-2 at the close then it will be Gale doing the begging. |

someone pass Naz a calculator please:(
By:
Yorks should just keep attacking fields throughout which should increase the Middlesex runrate enough to give them the option of setting a declaration, I'll be dissapointed if we have a negative field, this is all presuming we get the 350th run.

I cannot believe they're still talking about stopping the single.

By:
20 wickets or 10 wickets and a chase on this, with the time left that there is, don't think so
By:
I'm amazed at the approach both teams have had, should never ever be a draw this game but it is a massive runner now imo
By:
siddy on for 50 here

By:
10m people in London and yet hardly any one there
![]() I can only see a draw with much rain OR if Yorkies fail narrowly in a run chase. |
By:
early wicket lovely jubb

By:
great ball.
By:
too good for compton
By:
yorkies in driving seat, great game cricket !
By:
Such a classy bowling attack.
By:
surely the Draw therefore a Somerset victory is a big runner
They were saying that Yorks were in the driving seat but they aren't as they are reliant on a Middlesex dec as they wont bowl them out |
By:
Middlesex have to declare or be bowled out, no matter what happens.
By:
there is no way in this world Middlesex will play out for a dull draw - why on earth would they?!
By:
Therefore Middlesex have to score runs quickly and get into a position where they can declare to say leave Yorkshire needing 220 off 27 overs or something like that, as Yorkshire will have to go for the runs as well.
By:
they wouldn't but as Yorks would have to bowl them out (which they wont) they are in the driving seat
but they could set 200 off 20 and Yorks would have to go for it - then the bad light comes and match drawn, championship to somerset |
By:
Yorkshire of course would go for them they have to, you obviously haven't worked out, a win for either side, wins them the Championship
By:
And there will be no bad light today, a clear sunny day, all day.
By:
the market is going to move up and down like yo-yo all day - it could get very messy come 5pm! imo
By:
the draw is now 2.24 having been 4 just before play started
Its a game of cat and mouse and one team is going to have to show their hand - the question is when |
By:
draw will be odds on soon
there's no way on god's green earth that this should be a draw given the predicament of the 2 teams but the pitch is too flat and there is simply not enough time or overs to force a conventional result sure middlesex might get 200ish in front and set yorkshire a target in 20ish overs but that will be tough in 4 day cricket and I can see yorkshire falling a few short 7 down and the game being drawn should never ever have got to this stage for either team but neither side has realised that to WIN they have had to bring the other team with them and take the punt, otherwise this lords track wins again and the trophy will be filled with cider tonight |
By:
what is obvious (and not just hindsight as I laid it yesterday) was the 1.30 on Yorks to win the game was far too short
By:
draw will go odds on
By:
at some stage (don't know when) Draw is going to be lay of the century
By:
let's assume middlesex don't get bowled out and they declare after scoring at 3 an over
roughly 80 overs left today bat for another 60 overs, lead is around 200 with 20 overs left I'm normally with results when I punt but do you fancy a result with either 10 wickets or 200 runs in 20 overs?? |
