Don't really think Hales is the answer for England. Should ask for a masterclass with geoffrey. Have no diea who else is good enough to open though. Bigger problems at 4 and 5 tbf

Why can't England bats average over 50?....in modern era, it never happens, it does with other test playing nations.  Often they get up over averaging over 50 and they always always fall back. KP Cook Bell etc
