a bit over generous!

the paucity of batting talent is sad.

a few clouds in Kent but no sign of the Spanish Plume here!

I really need the rain to give me an opportunity to mitigate my losses on Oz... I live 30 miles south of the oval and it's looking very heavy so hopefully rosebowls rain will move northwards smartish.

Accuweather predicts rain will hit The Oval at 11.45. Hard rain then for a couple of hours minimum. May get back on late pm.

Wrong again. Shame it is not the same rain band as we have in Somerset. It started to rain at around 3.30 pm yesterday and has not really stopped since.

Rain, is going to last for 2 hours, but not particularly heavy rain. Play will start, I would think around 3.30-4.00

Eng/Oz players of the series? Smith for Aussies; Broad for Eng?
By:
Whisperingdeath
When: 23 Aug 15 15:58
sorry, i am incorrect but it wasn't the first time nor will it be the last!

When: 23 Aug 15 15:59
Lehmann couldn't bring himself to give it to Broad. No surprise really.
By:

When: 23 Aug 15 16:07
I think Broad has been a revalation for England but without Root they would have lost The Ashes.

Same with Smith. 2 wins 2 big scores

Martin Johnson's team talk before the World Cup Final in 2003...

" Let's go "

Cook thought they would lose before the start of the series! He is a good batsman, I give him that. Not his best series and I say he is a fighter but please stay on at least one or two more series before they give it to Joe Root.

Without Broad's amazing spell Eng wouldn't have won that key TB test match. Top bowler of the series.

Fascinating stats with the Aussies apparently dominant in batting and bowling.

Similar to 2009.

Just shows that it's WHEN wickets are taken and runs scored that matters most.
