Indian backers liked the look of Swann's innings.

Did the rest make batting look harder than it is? I think it was more the case that numbers 8 and 9 can often play with more freedom. Ashwin was doing his VVS impression last match.

I'd gladly lay into India now at 2.92/2.94 except I have a hefty-ish red on them at the moment. I could have greened-out nicely at 4.1/4.2 - but just wasn't inclined to do so. Its unlike me because I'm a pretty conservative player and take what I'm given.

If India go at 3 an over (England 2.25 or so), as sweetchildofmine says that's 3 sessions plus today to get parity.....effectively the end of Day 3.

So its 2.9 that....
.........England's bowler's will not be as effective as previous tests
...and...India can reach parity in 4.5 sessions
...and...Bowl England out in Day 4, early day 5
...and...Get required runs on a presumably deteriorating Day 5 pitch

Doesn't need much for it all to go wrong.

Pitch is still playing just fine, no turn.

Reading the posts I could hear the desperation in some draw backers at times and I have to say now i think you will probably be alright.  I don't know why I say you because I currently sit pretty on the draw too.  Still a long way to go in this match.  Run rate calculations are spurious at the moment.

Not sue how well India will bat but they need to bat for as much of tomorrow as possible if not well beyong lunch tomorrow.

Happy days here comes SRT

Sad - I hate that, we've all been there - as expected not that much of a gainLaugh

Was half-thinking of backing/laying India in little amounts as the price continues to come in - but probably not much of a move for a while as RR gets lower as SRT gets in.

batsmen should have stood ground and said it didnt carry !!! umpire would have sent it upstairs and then it would have been interesting

India too short. IF they get a lead it will be this time tomorrow. IF they manage to bat on it will be middle of day 4. If they have batted so long presumably the pitch will be holding up so England should be able to hang around ..................

There is something very pleasing about India being on the wrong end of a decisionCool.

I know that's somewhat mean-spirited of me, but they can't have it every wayHappy

@loserschaselosers - that would have been the general consensus among most I would have thought, myself included. But not with some of the Indian backers who had India at 2.6/2.62 only ten minutes agoShocked.

Still too short, agreed, but I'm not comfortable laying, at my max (within my own rules)

resisting urge to lay India.  if these two last 15 minutes I might get 3's
By:

I would start from the assumption that England can last for 6 hours in their second innings and score 180. That leaves India to score 510 in total. They have 7 hours left or 105 overs to score 450. Can't see how they have a cat in hells chance. If England have any sense they will not bowl any more than 90 overs tomorrow. That way they either win or draw.

Well put - sageform. Stark for Indian backers.

Of course anything can happen - but if it was another test match (ie. India not playing) the home team would be about 8 or 9s I reckon, maybe more. I'd have a big green on them and looking for the unexpected to happenHappy.
