sorry about double posts, I have double vision today
By:
Also there is a chance the bookies are clearing their books as a lot of saddoes like me had $25 at 90!
By:
I should trade off but I'm worried my local bookie is going to cancel my draw bet I just got on at over 20/1
By:
It's been a while since I've seen such a move in a Test! I was glad to get out at 8.
By:
Lol!! Market doesn't know what to do. Left most of my green on the draw now and hope the rain comes.

punters in kingston must be cleaning up wi@1.4 with heavy rain about brave bet good luck with that
By:
ernesto arrived early should be washout today fine tomorrow

By:
Looking at 24mm of rain overnight so day 5 is probably a no go. Those winds will dry it out but I think Day 4 is key.
By:
day 5 much more likely than 4 imo the ground has great drainage and a few centimetres of rain overnight will not cause much problems to ground imo
![]() |
By:
dude it's expected to bring between 4 to 6 inches of rain. Ernesto may become a hurricame by Monday afternoon and still South West of Jamaica.
If it rains heavy today it will probably continue tomorrow. Whatever it s in the hands of the Gods right now. |
By:
lol i don't think a good drainage system will help in a thunderstorm
By:
wow. Massive movement overnight - kind of got me out of trouble but the storm is massively south of Jamaica - totally touch and go
By:
there is nothing to worry, the match will start before lunch, ground condition r good, definitely 25 over will be bowled today.
By:
another situation where you really need to be local to have an idea
By:
anyone got any contacts in Kingston, how is the weather right now
By:
i saw some crazy prices for the draw yesterday like 66/1, now it is 11/4 with bet365
By:
Whispering if what you say is true then 4.0 the draw is a massive back for you
![]() |
By:
I'm astonished by this draw price!
![]() 90% chance of rain today and tomorrow. Light rain now. It would be incredible if this a draw. It's traded in the hundreds and now it's 4s! |

Truth,
Yesterday I was standing with my trousers round my ankles, just about to drop my chuddies and the good Lord had the soap in his hands, I took some draw at 10.5 and more at 90, I am not backing the draw at 4 today! I am not betting anything more on the result of this match! Just waiting for the right time to cancel my red on Windies, unfortunately greed has got the better of me and I am holding on to my Hail Mary for now. Footie if I call somebody in Kingston now I will probably get shot on my next visit. I shall try around 8am Jamaican ( and if some of you are aware of Jamaican time that could be 9am! ). I will post a reply if I get through. There may be play this morning the heavy stuff might not arrive till lunch anything could happen even a NZ win! |

The ground has terrible drainage, around the edges, its ok near the square, however near the North stand it gets standing water after ten minutes of rain, if you look at the batsmen walking out there are bare patches where it gets very boggy down by the pavilion after even 10 minutes of heavy rain. Not the first ODI here the third of the series, it took 2 hours to clean up a 30 minute shower.
By:
Good luck cleaning up 6 inches of rain, even two inches would kill it, they have no big super soakers either just two that are pushed by hand and resemeble small rollers, and no one is going to use them in 40 mph winds

I think a greater danger here might be the reaction of the authorities on safety grounds. Even if they haul the crowd in for the start, it's gonna take most of the morning session to knock the runs off, then they have to think about all the crowd returning home again in what's likely to be worstening conditions. They may well take the cautious route here and hope to complete the game on Monday if it clears up and not too much damage has been done. Tough call for whoever has to make it, will def be damned if they do and damned if they don't.

such a shame that all this betting talk is about the weather forecast, everyones betting on the "storm" rather than the wicket/22players,great shame IMO.sure it's a major part of test cricket.I got £50 on betfred 28/1 at 9:55 is there any chance the bald cu*t can cancel/void the bet,its not a "pulp" as windies were 1/9 at the time so his book was the usual 115%
By:
This Jamaica not the EU! Few "silly" health and safety rules out there. They probably desperately want to see a WI win.
Given the hurricane path has moved south it's extremely tempting to lay the draw but might be more panic yet. |

Pulp,
Somebody told me that a bookie can refuse to pay out on a bet. They didn't confirm the circumstances like suspected match fixing or the like but they did say they can refuse to honour the bet on what grounds I don't know. Then I guess you would have to make a civil claim. It is unlikely that could welch on the bet though and you could photo copy your ticket and post it on every lampost in town and on his window. I was told by an actual betting shop manageress that if you do win a bet and go to collect they have to pay you out. If they do not have the money in the shop they have to arrange to collect it and bring it to the shop that day / evening. These to me sound like conflicting views but I am sure of the latter not the former. |

appears to be dry at 6am, updated every hour

By:
play starts at 10am there and it looks like they should get the morning session in
By:
happyhamma baldfred will void your draw bet if there isn't another ball bowled in the match-standard rule for most bookies
By:
NZ must be the value. It would take them less time to take the wickets than WI to score the runs!
By:
this was online,i've taken a photo of bet in "my account" i'm betting under a different name but the lad knows about this now and is happy for a small claims court, layed off £55 @ 7.2 so big problem if he doesnt pay out!!

any latest news about rain
By:
why the market is going so up
By:
Draw price coming in because it's raining with more to come Kali. It's only Day 4 though...
By:
you better hope for no further play then happyhamma-otherwise you're going to do 340 quid if its a result and get nothing off betbaldy if it is a draw
By:
its like the CMM market at the moment very fickle, they have had plenty of rain past few days, bit of rain earlier today probably independent of Ernesto but market has reacted as if its the start of it, thats just my guess
By:
sorry meant you better hope it is a draw
