jury is still out on wether the rise in temperature globally is solely because of man made Co2

at the moment why would you want to not do anything about it ?

it's like in the 1980s if people doubted  the effects of cfc's because of some terry mcann like conspiracy and  making us pay  for an anti persperant tax

These people told me in 2004:

Climate change 'should be elevated beyond a scientific debate to a US national security concern', say the authors, Peter Schwartz, CIA consultant and former head of planning at Royal Dutch/Shell Group, and Doug Randall of the California-based Global Business Network.

Do you rate them?

They gave dire predictions for the UK for 2020 Sad. As printed in the Guardian....

I'm heading south.

Thatcher was a vindictive bitch. Nowt to do with climate change at the time.

What don't you understand about climate change? Some places get hotter, some places get colder, some places get more rainfall, some places get less rainfall. The variability of these places changes but now everywhere is going haywire. You will see more unusual weather all around the world as is being experienced right now.

And tm will say he's got the heating on so that disproves global warming but proves every load of sh!te he's been banging on about for years. Poor, disillusioned man.

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2004/feb/22/usnews.theobserver

A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a 'Siberian' climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world.

2004 prediction.

But apparently, according to Greta and the BBC 'the world is on fire'.

First rule of defence: get your story straight.

The guardian merely relayed details of the report. Don't shoot the messenger!

Bush was criticised for not believing said report.

Coach if I told you ive has to scrap the frost of my car 3 out of the last 4 days in the morning would you believe me? Its cold!
By:

When: 23 Jan 20 19:27
As tm has had to scrap(e) the frost off his car for three days out of four had completely changed my mind. Irrefutable evidence of no climate change.
By:

When: 23 Jan 20 19:29
Then again I thought it about it a little bit more and decided it may take a bit more evidence.

Which report do we believe? The ones saying we're going to freeze, burn or drown?

The 2004 Pentagon report is hogwash. Are the reports and predictions being produced by Greta, XR and others more accurate?

Or perhaps they will be filed under hogwash too.
By:

They've all been hogwash so far.

Warning warning - climate change emergency right now according to David Attenborough and the usual suspects.

Did you actually read the link apart from the first few paragraphs?

Last week the Bush administration came under heavy fire from a large body of respected scientists who claimed that it cherry-picked science to suit its policy agenda and suppressed studies that it did not like. Jeremy Symons, a former whistleblower at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), said that suppression of the report for four months was a further example of the White House trying to bury the threat of climate change.

Final paragraph:

Symons said the Bush administration's close links to high-powered energy and oil companies was vital in understanding why climate change was received sceptically in the Oval Office. 'This administration is ignoring the evidence in order to placate a handful of large energy and oil companies,' he added.

The Guardian article you posted about a 15 year old secret report says that Global warming is real and a threat to USA.
How does that prove that Global warming is not happening.

The warmest 10 global temps since had decent global records (150 years or so) have all happened century .

What is your point regarding this report. Do you believe the planet is warming?

we were supposed to have both been drowned or frozen by two reports for 2020  and 2014  which one should we have gone for?  Suppressed by governments I understand.
Prince charles one of the cheerleaders for the warmist conspiracy has been wrong a few times too.  It is quite amazing

Moisok,
You are correct 2 days ago the night time temperature in England in January was below 0C .
It has been warmer the past couple of days.

Not really sure WTF that has to do with GLOBAL warming.

Mexico - the 2004 Pentagon Report said the UK will be like Siberia in 2020.

Yet we have Greta, Attenborough etc saying the UK is heating up. Which is it?

Which report are we supposed to believe?

The doommongers MUST get their story right. Do I buy a sun hat or skin the cat and make some gloves?

Injera  , that 2004 was some sort of April fools joke .

how can any country suddenly become like Siberia ?
By:

When: 23 Jan 20 21:03
at present  the UK has warmed up something like  0.8C over the last few years   ...a difference a human wouldn't notice ....in fact it's the difference between Paris and London ,basically no difference to us ,we normally see an  5-8c difference on any day  . However , on a global note

Ice caps notice it , and so do plants ,so do oceans and  plankton  ....  a 0.7 is the difference between growing fields of Champagne grapes or fields of corn.

Terry what are you going on about ice on cars ?   you can get that at 2c    ...in the past we've had loads of days with  frost on cars in mid winter  ...it's wasn't  that unusual

but there was another that said we would be underwater by 2024

plus about another 50 predictions since the 70s which have all been wrong

now we have another for 2050

it is so convenient how these are quickly brushed away

but it keeps people hovering over a frenzy of crisis etc etc etc  and fills newspapers and keeps tv presenters and film crews in work

plus the thousands of scientists plus the thousands of save the bears and various other institutions raking in the millions  and the people who work for them - you have been mugged hahah

My question is not whether the climate is changing. My question is where is the hard evidence that man can change the climate?

All I can get is the theory that he can, which has become accepted as a fact by some.
Which is simply not good enough, especially when their predictions continue to be so far out.

So I filed it under ''I'll believe it when they prove it.''
By:
Dr Crippen

If the climate were to move 5 degrees in either direction it doesn't prove a thing with regard to my question.
