STUDYFORM falls into his own trap by doing himself exactly what he is criticising. Which is discussing personalities instead of policies.
A prize plum if there ever was one. As for my ''direct insult.'' he mentioned. That was in reply to insults from STUDYFORM where he referred to people as Nazis. I merely pointed out an obvious Nazi trait in STUDYFORM's political makeup. |

Little anecdote about the EDL.
They held a march in Stevenage one Saturday c 2014. It was drizzling and sandwiched between a heavy police escort, front and back, c200 EDL members proceeded quietly along the roads. There were banners for faraway places like Darlington. The marchers passed in good order, attracting no more than curious glances from bystanders. On the train out of Stevenage, it was a diffrerent story. The main body of EDL supporters boarded a slow train that stopped at every little station on the line back to London. And at each station, where non-white passengers tried to board the carriages that were commandeered, EDL "doormen" physically barred them, told them it was a "whites only carriage" and made them board the train further along. |
|
By:
Couple of points to that UB:
1. Where is that comment quoted from. 2. Tommy resigned from the EDL in October 2013. |
|

Not sure if the train door blocking was even reported in the press, IT.
In light of your post, I found a link to the date. It was 7th June 2014, but it felt more like a winter day, grey. http://www.thecomet.net/news/gallery-the-edl-march-in-stevenage-and-announce-their-return-for-next-month-1-3633679 I'll leave you to explain why Tommy Robinson made a speech in the town centre.. |

I'll leave you to explain why Tommy Robinson made a speech in the town centre..
And I'll leave UB to explain why there's no record of EDL members stopping no-white people from boarding the train in that article? And also why he says Tommy Robinson was speaking in the town centre when there's no record of that either? |

Ah, my mistake, I misread the name of the town centre speaker.
Which is not to endorse the far-Right EDL nor the far-Right criminal activist Tommy Robinson. Plainly, the cohort of Tommy Robinson supporters on this forum are if the “plastic” variety, and have no clue what these rallies are really like. |
|
By:
Thank you for admitting your mistake UB.
So where is your actual evidence of TR being a racist in the last 5 years? |
|
By:
I know his broad appeal and far-right connections, why would I read about him as if he was a figure worthy of investigation? Also, as evidenced by the slow-train incident, they hide their true nature in public. I did hear him get destroyed by James O'Brien, that’s all I need to know.
|
|
By:
You don't know anything. You have done no research whatsoever outside what you have read in the main stream media. You even claimed he was at a rally that occurred after he left the EDL because he said he could no longer control the elements in it you claim you dislike. Do some real research or don't take a stance. No point in taking a stance on something you are clueless about.
|

By:
insider trader - absolutely 100% correct !
|
|
By:
So.
Mainstream media, a lie. Proper researched media (put out almost entirely by fans and supporters), accurate. Or, in other words. Ignore reports we don't like, read reports we do like. Yeah, right. |
|
By:
I think the general idea is to listen to what he says and in what context .
Not what the media reports he's said , without context , and usually preceded by "far-right founder of the EDL , Tommy Robinson............" |
|
By:
My illustration was in answer to Insider Trader’s question, how was the EDL racist?
Clearly, IT has never been to a rally, and no conception of how these people behave once they are out of public view. Happy to help. |
|
By:
Why would normal people ask me for evidence of Tommy Robinson being racist in the last five years? I’d as soon study Vinnie Jones.
|
|
By:
What is the point you are trying to make on this thread UB? You admit you know nothing about the topic.
|
|
By:
1) Tommy Robinson belongs to the far-right.
2) Leaving the EU is the worst thing the country can do with regard to the chief concern of his core support: the dilution of British identity through immigration. 3) The EDL was indeed racist (since you ask). |
|
By:
1) You have given no evidence. Just one piece of evidence of his recent activities that suggest this. He has done dozens of videos. Give one.
2) His core support has people from all races. What they are against is incomers who do not integrate and partake in activities like rape and terrorism. 3) Some people on the marches may be but nothing in what they stood for was racist. People of all races went on his marches. If you have evidence against the above please present it. |
|
By:
Poor misunderstood Tommy.

Just interested where you get your views from.
So far you have given only one source that determined your views and it was about someone completely different. Is this how you draw all conclusions? Do some research. Misread the first thing about a subject. And then stick to that view even when it is pointed out that misread your original source. It now makes sense why you are so muddled on Brexit. |
|
By:
I did hear him get destroyed by James O'Brien,
We know all about James O'Brien and his fanatical left-wing bias. He'd destroy Jesus Christ and all his angels if he thought they had a spark of right-wing thinking in them. To say that O'Brien distorts the truth is an understatement. But when anyone phones in to his show they have to be word perfect or he takes them to task on every trivial point. Even the BBC sacked him from Newsnight over bias. |
|
By:
To say that O'Brien distorts the truth is an understatement.
Exactly like UB appears to have done here with his made up tale about the EDL. |
|
By:
By founding the EDL, Tommy got publicity. He got interviews. I've posted the one here in 2011 with Paxman where he called for the end to grooming gangs.
Paxman was indignant (of course). 7 years on, Tommy was obviously correct and yet all the liberals can do is slag off the EDL. The mind truly boggles. |

Just interested where you get your views from.
I think for myself, Insider Trader. Matter of fact, I agree with Tommy Robinson that mainstream Islam has a problem assimilating into a multi-cultural society, but the company he keeps , the behaviour of his supporters on the streets, the attitude of his "online plastic warriors" and his alignment with far-right dogma just puts him beyond the pale for me. I'm not going to look over five years of his pronouncements because I don't regard him as a more serious figure than, say, Vinnie Jones. I'm interested in where you get your views from too, IT, if only because they conform so closely with the views of everyone else on the "other" side. Obviously you don't get out much, you're probably a bit happier in the company of figures rather than people and can fall back on your "sources" for their answer to everything, from fracking to Yemen. But don't you feel any concern about being manipulated, the far-Right's useful idiot? |
|
By:
Nice to see UB endorsing Tommy Robinson there.
But hang on, by his own reckoning does that make UB one of the far-right's useful idiots? If you read his last post it must do. |
|

OP seems a bit of a snowflake. Enjoy Poland.

It isn’t freedom of speech that is dangerous. It is censorship. Censorship is the midwife of extremism. It expels certain thoughts from the mainstream, which allows them to grow on the fringes, among those whose legitimate concerns can, in the secluded world of alt-worriers about the state of society, morph into something more unpleasant. ‘No Platform for Tommy Robinson’, people say, not realising that this very censoriousness has done more than anything to provide Robinson with a moral platform most activists could only dream of.

Paypal is processing donations so that ex-English Defence League leader ‘Tommy Robinson’ can continue spreading his racist, islamophobic bile.
Robinson -- real name Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon -- is arguably the loudest, most violent anti-Muslim voice in the UK. His recent jailing for contempt of court didn’t stunt his support from across the world. And he’s encouraging supporters to donate so he can continue to spread his dangerous messages of hate. At a time when Muslims in Britain are suffering the highest number of hate incidents since 2012, PayPal is profiting off that hatred. Paypal’s acceptable use policy claims it forbids “the promotion of hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory”. But the fact that Tommy Robinson is cashing in with its services shows this policy isn’t being properly enforced. We know a ban from Paypal will hit his movement hard. When Paypal deplatformed a Canadian far-right commentator, she claimed the move “effectively knocked me down at the knees”. Let’s make PayPal do the same for Tommy Robinson. There’s no denying that Tommy Robinson is the poster boy for the British far-right and he’s using that reputation to get financial support from across the world. Just last month, his supporters staged a mass #FreeTommy rally in London supported by hardline US organisations to the tune of thousands. Worse, one of Trump's diplomats lobbied on Tommy Robinson’s behalf. Tommy Robinson is also building ties with the islamophobic far-right across Europe. Since leaving the EDL, he founded the UK branch of Pegida, an anti-Islam group in Germany who whip up xenophobic hatred. These groups need money to function and grow, so if we make this process as hard as can be, we can cut off their financial lifeline. If we win this, we won’t stop there. A win from Paypal will give us more leverage to pile pressure on other companies processing donations for any hate groups: Mastercard, Visa, and all credit cards giants helping the flow of money to the far-right. Pressure from members like you has already made PayPal block other hate groups from using its platform. Tens of thousands of SumOfUs members in France successfully pushed PayPal to stop processing payments for the violent French white supremacist group Génération Identitaire, which used the site to crowdsource money to sink refugee boats. We’ve been so inspired by the sheer number of SumOfUs members who came together to reject Trumpism earlier this month. This is our chance to keep working together and reverse the rise of hate-fuelled politics. Tell Paypal: your platform should not be used to fund hate -- stop processing donations for Tommy Robinson! |

I don't understand what's wrong with disliking Islam-or anything else- tbh. It is a dislikable religion when compared to almost any other.

CHORTLE at such snowflakery!

By:
^^^to that oaf, facts, who is equating the sinking of refugee boats, (presumably leading to the drowning of those om board?) with TR! On the one hand, we have murderers, on the other, a man who is locked up for highlighting mass rape; and these are equivalent? What utter muppetry!!!

Who is this FACTS?
He's going to a lot of trouble here and getting worked up. It's a pity we can't see his face. |
|
By:
Facts, your heart is in the right place but entreating Paypal to treat Tommy Robinson with special status only elevates him, when in reality he is no more significant than Neil Ruddock.
In any case, he doesn't need crowd-funding, the alt-Right will give himall the money he needs. Let the "plastic keyboard Tommies" waste their money. |
|
By:
Have you sent TR any money yet UB?
