The reason those countries are currently top is (at a guess) family reunion and marriages to people already in the UK.
If we move to a merit based system there is no reason these numbers will increase unless the people from those 4 countries have the specific skills the UK economy requires. They will compete with all the other countries in the world including the EU 27. |

I am certain we have explained all this to you before UB and you went off with your tail between your legs.
Then of course you bring it back up on this thread. Have you worked out your own reasons why you think Tommy is far right yet? |

I do not agree it is a bad thing but Brexit does nothing to address non-EU immigration. How many was it last year? This year? Any reason it would be less next year?
Even if non-EU immigration is staunched (unlikely) EU-returners reduce the proportion of white, European, Christian migrants overall and the complexion of our society will keep on changing. |

I am certain we have explained all this to you before UB and you went off with your tail between your legs. Really? I missed that. Bring back your victory thread. |

Estimated non-EU net migration, meanwhile, is 227,000 a year—the highest level recorded since 2011. It has been almost consistently higher than EU migration for decades.
From a 30 sec google search. Brexit would increase this number. Comment, IT? |

You are just trolling. Not only do you want to back up a virtual "buddy" on here in some sort of quiz on here, but you want ME to arrange it and, it seems, give you odds. And now you're asking me to go through 19,000 posts since 2005 (the 1st 5 years of which are lost) to prove myself to you. I wasn't "Spouting" about large bets, I made a comment to someone else - not you - after he told me I was of limited intellect, that I'd have a large bet (figure of speech) I knew more than him. You carried it forward to this.... so set up a quiz, against either, or both of you. I'll play Otherwise, stop the crap... you're posting like a petulant 15 year old in the playground |

In 2015 287,000 non EU migrants entered the UK to stay for 12 months or more
112,000 Students 38,000 Family reunion 12,000 Asylum 74,000 To work on a capped visa system - 30% of these were from intra-company transfers. All those coming for work had a reason. Were sponsored with a job etc. It was 74k gross. By all accounts those 74k are good for the UK. They are on specific work visas. This is massively different from anyone who wants being able to come in from the EU. We have been through this SO many times. Have you worked out your own reasons why you think Tommy is far right yet? |
|
By:
So, that`s still a `no` then.
You instigated challenges of large bets, it`s down to you to back up such spouting, NOT those you`re challenging. 19,000 posts, and you can`t find ONE that`s not tosh? CHORTLE!!! |
|

Nice try. But.. 227,000 is the NET non-EU migration figure Insider Trader. 227,000 MORE coming in than going out. And these figures from '17, more recent than yours.
|
|
By:
This little quiz episode is so symbolic of the leftoes, on a wider scale; they bombard with bluster, hot air, and bullying tosh, only to run away, deflect and obfuscate as soon as challenged. Pathetic.

People coming here on actual work visas in 2015:
1. India 2. USA 3. Australia 4. Japan 5. China Mainly working information and communication, science, finance, health. This is exactly the kind of immigration that adds value to the economy UB. |

But.. 227,000 is the NET non-EU migration figure Insider Trader. 227,000 MORE coming in than going out. And these figures from '17, more recent than yours. ^ Yes but they are not all coming to work. Those coming to work are not mainly from the countries you listed in scare mongering tactics. These are skilled people. If they do not have a job they cannot come. Most are on Tier 1 and Tier 2 work visas. They are not coming to pick fruit or work in a bar (unless they are on a short term youth work visa from Australia etc). |
|
By:
This is supposedly Insider Trader's area of concern and expertise, but Govts own statistics contradict his claim:
//www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/populationandmigration/internationalmigration/articles/migrationsincethebrexitvotewhatschangedinsixcharts/2017-11 This shows that non-EU migration has been bigger than EU migration in each and every of the last ten years and nowhere on that timeline supports his 74k figure. Never below 100k in fact, IT. Over to you. |
|
By:
I am talking about people on work visas for tier 1 and tier 2 skilled jobs and on temporary youth work visas..
You are talking about the combined number of people coming to study, family reunion, asylum and those for work (in the 3 areas listed above). |
|
By:
Yes but they are not all coming to work.
When are they all going back then? The net gain is over 100k every single year, with no prospect of change cos of Brexit. |
|
By:
The Govt is talking about a NET gain in non-EU migration year on year.
Link provided. |
|
By:
You are claiming MORE will come from Pakistan, India, Nigeria and Bangladesh to WORK if Brexit happens.
I am explaining most who do come do not come to work. Only India on your list is in the top 5 of countries people come to WORK and they are on Tier 1 and Tier 2 work visas. Are you suggesting the number will increase for family reunion, study and asylum from your 4 countries will increase due to Brexit? Have you worked out your own reasons why you think Tommy is far right yet? |

As EU nurses, plumbers etc return from a newly hostile environment, more non-EU workers will be needed, that is logical and very probable.
But even if the number of non-EU migrants stays the same (no reason it would lessen because of Brexit) the overall complexion would change. The profile would be less white, less European and less Christian. In short, less like us. |
|
By:
This episode is NOT of my making; resist a lifetime of leftie habits, stop lying. You gave it the big`un, the onus is on you to justify such claims, so stop wriggling, stop deflection attempts, or be forever quiet on the matter.
|
|
By:
Why would the complexion change? And why does it matter what race and religion people are if they are here to work in highly skilled jobs and respect the Crown and our culture and laws?
How many skilled plumbers would get a work visa from Poland compared to India? I don't know the answer to that but why should both not be given the same chance if we actually specifically need plumbers because British born people are unable to do plumbing? |
|
By:
I have been quiet - you're the one going on.
What exactly would you like me to do? |
|
By:
If we look at the NHS India and the Philipines are already number 1 and 2 and what is wrong with that is they have the skills and we need them? Why do they have to be from the EU?

Why would the complexion change? 80% of the world is not white and not Christian. It is less like us. Europe is on our doorstep and we share a heritage.

Just parking the above on the Tommy Robinson thread.
Something to consider. |
|
By:
Goodnight.
|
|
By:
OK now I know you're trolling and being even more stupid than usual.
|
|
By:
India already has lots of tier 1 and tier 2 people coming here.
We do not have to accept their terms. Why would we if they are the same as the EU? In terms of the NHS... 61,537 EU27 people work in NHS from a population of 3,800,000. This is 1.6%. 976,288 British people work in NHS from a population of 58,500,000. This is 1.7%. Why if we decrease immigration will we need to get more nurses and doctors from anywhere and why would the proportions change? |
|
By:
So in terms of the NHS put simply the newcomers (in numbers terms) serve the newcomers.
If we have less people we need less workers. Or if we bring in less people in the future we will need to bring in less NHS staff. |
|
By:
OK, study, you clearly won`t be able to prove your claims. Just want to clarify, with facts and evidence, for the benefit of those you have tried to hoodwink with lies to the contrary, that you started this episode, and wriggled when challenged
STUDYFORM 05 Aug 18 16:55 `...But I'd still have a very big bet that I know more about nearly everything than you do...` My first response to this was over an hour later. |

You're taking the p1ss.
I've said I'll do it 5 times now. You've joined in a conversation that didn't involve you, hijacked the need to carry it through, not answered me, tried to rally a few troops and been an ****. I'm not wriggling out of anything. HOW would you like to proceed with this. Try answering me. It's the last time I'm offering to take you on, you seem to be bottling the idea by trolling. There is only one person on this entire forum I would be worried about quizzing against and he isn't here. You present no challenge. So just say how you wish this event to take place and we shall do it. |
|
By:
You spouted claims, you`re the one who needs to back then up; no amount of wriggling changes that. Your inability to do so is not something you can deflect your way out of.
I`ve enjoyed today, the most fun you lefties have given us in a while. |

Sure I know how things are funded. You seriously believe that the reason TR started the EDL and continues to speak out, risks his life, risk jail etc is to make money? Why did Robinson head up the well known racist organisation the English Defence League ? |
|
By:
What was racist about the EDL? It had members from all races.
