There are some very intelligent people out there who also believe the earth is flat, a theory that is growing, could becoming bigger than the moon theory.

I think so too Study, would like to meet this Scottish friend of aaron's.

My advice to aaron...
Tell your Scottish friend to lay off the sauce a bit. |

It is flat at microscopic level. When you view it from far enough it gives the illusion of being a ball because the vacuum in space makes everything 2D look 3D.
|
|
By:
You know how we can be certain it's not flat.
The astronauts looking at it from the moon said so. |
|
By:
Yeah, we can trust their eyesight from 384,400 km away?
|
|
By:
Straight over your head, like a chemtrail.
Humour is wasted on here. |
|
By:
its never wasted study, never.
|

Its flat imo
When they are coming to land in say Australia? how can they land coming in upside down? |
|
By:
I'm talking coming into land from space

FLAT EARTH Proof: The Moon Landings Were A HOAX! how about this |
|
By:
Assuming it was flat, which I have no doubt is bs, why would they tell us otherwise? What's the point?
|
|

Yeah, we can trust their eyesight from 384,400 km away?
Pity ye can't erase posts without a mod, eh detraveller. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Subtle wee dig at the end SF, you're on form tonight. |

Of course, the disbelieving sheep on here will want to know what happens when you reach the edge of the earth. The Flat Earth society has this covered:
The earth is surrounded on all sides by an ice wall that holds the oceans back. This ice wall is what explorers have named Antarctica. Beyond the ice wall is a topic of great interest to the Flat Earth Society. To our knowledge, no one has been very far past the ice wall and returned to tell of their journey. What we do know is that it encircles the earth and serves to hold in our oceans and helps protect us from whatever lies beyond. https://wiki.tfes.org/Frequently_Asked_Questions#What_does_the_earth_look_like.3F_How_is_circumnavigation_possible.3F The Lizard men lie beyond - NAP They put the North and South poles in so that everyone trying to explore past ends up just taking a selfie at one of the flags and heading back the way they came - NB |

The earth is round but the universe is flat, as flat as a piece of paper.
|
|
By:
the universe has to be flat, because of time.

The earth is surrounded on all sides by an ice wall that holds the oceans back
Does global warming affect the ice wall? |

Does global warming affect the ice wall?
Would there be global warming with a flat shaped earth? |
|
By:
Would there be night and day in opposite parts of the world? Crazy theory

If the planet was round, you could hover a few feet above the ground in a hot air balloon and wait until the earth had rotated so much that the country you wished to visit was beneath you, and land.

Flat Earth Society
Day and night cycles are easily explained on a flat earth. The sun moves in circles around the North Pole. When it is over your head, it's day. When it's not, it's night. The light of the sun is confined to a limited area and its light acts like a spotlight upon the earth. The apparent effect of the sun rising and setting is usually explained as a perspective effect. When the sun is further away from the North Pole, it's winter in the northern hemiplane (or hemisphere) and summer in the south. the earth in the flat earth model is a lot closer to the sun than the 93,000,000 miles with the globe. |

If the planet was round, you could hover a few feet above the ground in a hot air balloon and wait until the earth had rotated so much that the country you wished to visit was beneath you, and land. is this is a joke? |
|
By:
|
|
By:
Of course it is a joke. My cousin flew from South America to New Zealand in a time that suggests the earth is not flat.
|
|
By:
But I see some conspiracy theorists on the internet blaming it all on inertia.
|
|
By:
When I was really really young, I thought the next country was up above the clouds. So all the countries were stacked on top of each other(I only knew 9 countries because that was the number of test playing nations). I knew planes flew so high they would cross the clouds and enter the next country. But at some point I realize the earth had to be flat and all countries on the same plane.

On "pointless" tonight they had a question area that was earth related. One of them was "how many hours does it take the earth to revolve around its axis" - and it only got 63!!!! I'd have been able to tell you that it was 24 hrs when I was 8!!
God forbid they ask "are chemtrails real true/false" and some nutter is on, says true, then attacks the host when it comes up false. |
|
By:
I'm sure they've had time to make some old tosh up about seasons, earthquakes, hurricanes, eclipses, satellites, other planets, etc etc.
Like ALL these things, there will be no persuading them. |

I never said that time was flat, I said the universe was flat because of time If any scientists think that the universe is round I can assure you they are wrong It is impossible for the universe to be round, because of time |
