Lewis Hamilton has been accused of humiliating his young nephew online after he disapproved of his choice of Christmas attire, telling him: “Boys don’t wear princess dresses.”

The Formula One world champion posted a video on Instagram in which he makes fun of the child, who is wearing a purple and pink outfit and carrying a pink wand with a heart on it.

“I’m so sad right now. Look at my nephew,” says Hamilton to his Instagram followers, as the camera focuses on the boy.

“Why are you wearing a princess dress? Is this what you got for Christmas?” he asks, as the boy nods delightedly.

“Why did you ask for a princess dress for Christmas?” he goes on.

“Because it’s pretty,” the boy replies enthusiastically, waving the pink wand.

“Boys don’t wear princess dresses!” says Hamilton, who has since deleted the video from his account.

The 32-year-old was abroad celebrating Christmas with his family when he posted the video. Since it was posted he has been roundly criticised on social media for negatively stereotyping his relative on the basis of his gender.

Travis Alabanza, a performance artist, said: “I hope Lewis Hamilton properly thinks and apologises to his nephew for that video.”

Ironic the BBC should highlight this failing of Mr Hamilton the day that Mr Joseph Johnson MP announces that Universities must have free speech. Mmm

Thought police, Lewis expressed his view, wrongly or rightly but it was just his view and would it really harm anyone ?

Im pretty sure it is natural thinking that boys dont wear dresses.

He's free to express his view. But if it's stupid and he posts it somewhere millions of people can see then he can expect those people to share their own views about him.

Is it stupid ?

He only posted a family video, clearly he didnt feel it was stupid as he uploaded it. But again he has been made to make an apology for popularity by the libtard media who care more about minorities.

I fully understand a man who is a bbc icon has to act in a certain way, but come on..............

It's not about minorities it's about shaming a child because he is doing something that is different to you views on how things "should be". I wouldn't say children are a minority group.

Well, a lot of people do think it was stupid. The kid's what 3 years old? Who cares if he likes wearing a dress or not? And ultimately who cares who the kid finds himself attracted to in a few years time?

As for the apology being due to the libtard (there's that conflation of retard again) media. I think the media have simply caught on to the backlash from ordinary members of the public who find his public shaming of a pre-schooler distasteful rather than the media themselves driving the story.

But sure, whatever suits your paranoid fantasy.

How is he shaming a 3yo ?

Like i said earlier nobody cares whether he was wearing a dress, its the response that HL said that boys shouldnt wear dresses.

All he stated was his view at the time, does the kid 'want' praising ?

Trying to connect the words of libtard to retard is just embarrassing, you are trying to silence something you cant control and  factual. i expect to be silenced at some point.

Paranoid fantasy, would you like to expand on that reply

IS - if he was simply saying to the boy (or his parents) that he shouldn't be wearing a dress then that is just sharing his opinion? There would still be the same questions about that opinion but that's all.

But Hamilton decided to film it and then post it on Instagram. He has 5,700,000 followers there. That's pretty damn public.

No-one said the kid needed praising. But there's a huge middle-ground between filming it and posting it to near 6m people and praising him. Maybe just enjoy your Christmas and not feel the need to share your opinions on everything like some diarrohea-riddled self-important blowhard. But if he does decide to post it and it's an open forum where people can either like something or not then there's always going to be the opportunity for people to comment. And when he shames a small child who just likes dressing up then tough luck.

Libtard is a clear conflation of liberal and retard. Maybe it's just become part of your lexicon and you don't realise it. Maybe you do and you don't care. Not sure what the paranoid nonsense about being silenced is.

Paranoid fantasy - the idea that this is all the concoction of the "MSM", the Beeb, the Guardian etc etc. Sorry but this blew up this morning and he was shot down in flames by all and sundry. This is one of those stories where the media is just reporting what has been happening. See moysey below for lessons in paranoia. The lad is simply lost.

The lad is simply lost, what does that even mean ?

Lewis filmed something, he did not predict the future Crazy

Im confused, did he shame a small child, in who's eyes, isnt this double standards ? im happy for it to be in a dress.

Just because a label is exact it does not make it wrong.

Where have i mentioned msm, the only thing i have mentioned is the bbc loving of LH ?

people (small cliques, ethnic groups, factions etc ) have learnt how to use rules and laws or make new laws
and how to make the most noise to their advantage to undermine the majority

I warn you now.  this is how it started in 1919 in germany.  Strangely (you would think) supported by the elite/wealthy and one group who eventually perished under what rose to power.

Of course now in a different age but can there be another group out there who think they know better for our population?

the lad is lost. Moysey is that lad. Utter paranoid crank in the last few days.

Not sure what you mean about predicting the future or double standards. Or the label either.

re MSM. You talked about libtard media. Others may have mentioned the beeb and the guardian specifically. Apologies if your libtard media is different to these or other members of the MSM. Maybe you can highlight who you mean. Always good to learn new things.

the opposition attempt to reduce you by personal abuse porky is one of them

not able to enter the debate, which they know they are compromised in the half attempt to defend, yet know deep down with in themselves
it is quite wrong to defend the tiny minority who want to shake the tree to death, till they get want THEY want, not what the majority are comfortable with and do not want the changes.

it is porky joining his progressive friends

however I am someone who is radical and opposes this pack hunting of media celebrities, the anti eu smearing brigade  (all over the tv and so biased)
the news assassination of corbyn, farage etc etc

to oppose this is to be paranoid, imbecilic, crank, jackbooted nazi etc as one is clearly in a minority in the world of the soundbite twitteraty.
