Hi, RR, I cant be bothered reading that, because the only common denominator is steel, like saying cars are all the same, It does not say anything about the type of construction, The TT were the Tubular,  The tube system concept is based on the idea that a building can be designed to resist lateral loads by designing it as a hollow cantilever perpendicular to the ground. This method was in it's infancy back then.

Your article does not give the construction specifications of the other buildings, only that they were steel framed, were they, Shear frames, Interacting systems, Partial tubular, or Full tubular, and if so which of the 5 tubular systems were they.

Only a like for like comparison has any validity, IMVHO. I'm off to another fred this one is doing my head in.

Apparently the review  promised after the inquest into the Lakanal House blaze eight years ago, had not been published,

from the guardian.

^^^ i've seen an interview with the fire expert used in a report into that fire, he said the authorities ignored his recommendations.

moisok, you've dragged me back!! always interested in what you say, I think you've hit the nail on the head, these enquiries cost millions take up to 7 years, by which time everyone has long moved on and the impetus to implement the recommendations is long gone. They have the appearance of a hybrid Quango, a nice jolly for the faithful!. Even the good guys, (Levenson comes to mind) get pushed aside.

I wonder what Baroness, Ann Elizabeth Oldfield Butler-Slos GBE, PC, is up to these days. Grin

jolly the Melbourne docks fire was attributed in great part to the  ACM rain screen overclad system used in Our disaster. Here's just one of the many quotes after that, “This product is so flammable, it’s like a firecracker or like a flare. “It basically explodes and the heat is enormous.”

containing the fire is the big one  - how on earth they could have done that with so much going against those brave firefighters - so many things wrong here.  From safety equipment ie ladders not long enough to interior safety equipment not provided, missing  or broken

Hot night, windows open. Easy for fire to go outside, then catch the cladding and come back in thru other open windows.

As I said earlier the causes are usually bottom line/corruption driven not political. But the cover ups are 100% political!!.

so modernization of old tower blocks actually means making them look a bit better but turning them into fire hazards. you couldnt make this sh1t up.

Think about who passes legislation - who makes our laws.

You can start there.

Reason should be Realeased very Soon, they Know where it started so Should not Take Long Hard to believe a Fridge exploding could cause such a Fire ,Cladding or no Cladding Plain
By:

When: 15 Jun 17 19:58
Why hasn't it collapsed?

A fireman pal reckons the heat could have been 1000 degrees C, enough to melt some metals.

He says the concrete has protected the steel girders, hence it's still up.

Twin Towers must have been hotter then..

Are the media purposely trying to wind up "the community"?

They keep on about the people's anger .... Is this normal after a tragedy? Avoidable, I know.

But this could turn very nasty, very quickly

There was only one staircase. It's basic fire safety to enclose the staircase in concrete. I wonder if this was done?
