05 Feb 17 10:37 Maybe I don't know all of the intricate details... At least you're honest in admitting to your obvious lack of knowledge regarding this case. |
|
By:
George B, with respect .....
your own knowledge on the case appears to randomly consist of posting links.....without any valued added views of the legitimacy or summaries of the key points therin. Several, if not all, of points raised in the links you posted are satisfactorily put to bed in the discussions therin. |
|
By:
I've never claimed to be an 'expert' on the case, nor have I given an opinion on what happened, but I have watched a lot of the documentaries and read the sites dedicated to trying to establish the facts surrounding the case.
The links I've posted I thought were relevant to the discussion. If you and your pals can't be 'rsed to watch them, that's your prerogative. There are people who have looked into this a lot deeper than you or I have, but feel free to pass yourself off as an 'expert' on the case... |

By:
you say umpteen cases of attempted abductions, assaults, maybe and theres probably 1000,s of cases of kids going missing for short periods on holiday camps etc
so why did someone give sky tv the nudge ,nudge this is a biggeee get your arse out here sharpish routine and sky were there on mass within hours, just more strange behaviour, what about the macaans ready made assembled photo,s they handed ot supposedly on the non excistent hotel photo copier, was this ever ratified |
|
By:
why do you claim that I have never watched them, George B?
What have I said that indicates this? You might not claim to be an expert, but you insult Scandi's knowlegede of the case, as if somehow you see your knowledge as superior to his. I see zero evidence of this. Frankly you need t be a little gullible to becme attached to RDH's long winded sensationalism, as you seem to be. |
|
By:
rdh and his like could have written the same sort of stuff about hillsbrough, jimmy saville etc 25 yrs ago and you,d be on here saying look deep enough and you see conspiracys everywhere, surely after whats come to light and wiki leaks etc over the last few years only a fool would say these things arnt possible
|

By:
I believe Gerry's brother called Sky in the early hours. For umpteen reasons this case took on a life of it's own.
1st time poster....many things are ratified, it's easy to google and check. The stuff about the ready assembled photos is garbage, why propagate nonsense like this? Also, if recall corectly, and I havent double checked this, initially one of the staff printed off the photos in their own room. |
|
By:
1st time Poster, I am commenting on this case, why invent in your head and then criticise what I may or may not comment on other cases, completely unrelated and very different cases?

05 Feb 17 12:16 why do you claim that I have never watched them, George B? What have I said that indicates this? You said you'd put it "all to bed" on this thread, yes, umpteen hours of detail on those documentaries, and you've "put to bed" all of it. As I said, you're an expert! The reason I post those links is so people can consider for themselves, the in-depth investigative work some people have undertaken to try and establish the facts of the case, rather than listening to people like you or me posting 'noise' on an internet forum. Hth. |

05 Feb 17 12:16 You might not claim to be an expert, but you insult Scandi's knowlegede of the case, Btw, you need to get your facts right here, I had not commented on anyone's posts on this thread, I was respecting their right to have an opinion. However, this forumite chose one of my posts to try to belittle and ridicule anyone who had spent hours informing themselves of the information available on the case. The same person who went on to admit that he didn't know all of the "intricate details" Go figure... |

George I've already told you, whatever is written in these blogs, shown in these videos and however suspect the McCanns look, there is zero hard evidence of thier guilt, none. If there was they'd be arrests, but according to the conspiracy nutjiobs they rationalise this by saying they have huge influence over the police and media, "they know too much", they've convinced themselves.
They've written books, they've sued the Portugese Police officer Goncarlo Amaro, the've appeared in dozens and dozens of interviews, they've hired detectives, appeared in documentaries..... All the hallmarks of innoncent people. Why would they do all of that if they were guilty, it can't be a huge game of double bluff, the stakes are too high, they have done everything to draw attention to the fact their child went missing, which is what any normal parent would do. If you want to put blame somewhere, look at the Portuguese police, a bunch of cowboys, they trampled all over the evidence from the start and botched the investigation, they were highly criticsed by British criminal investigators too. And the fool Amaral, he has a very dodgy past, people have all ready come out to talk about how heavy handed he was with them in the preceeding years and how he tries to force people to say what he wants them to say, look it up. Then he sells a book called the truth of the lie (making money from the supposed death of a child, very classy) and people take his word as gospel. LOL. |

One day, the truth will emerge. It usually does in cases like this.
|
|
By:
if we believe theres no lies,no coluding,no involvement at all from the tapas 7 and its an abduction, murder the same questions arise,
motive. no forensics no body nothing in a quiet holiday resort and nothing since all imo just as unlikely as the tapas 7 involvement in some way, thats before we get invloved with government, priests, pope,s tv stations, hob nobbing spokesmen etc,etc |

This isn't the first Maddy Thread on BF. There have been quite a few and the whys and wherefores, have been discussed in full previously.
Nobody wants to believe that the parents of a missing young girl, somehow had something to do with this. But when details emerge of how the McCanns behaved prior, and after the girl was found to be missing, the doubts of their innocence become harder to believe. The McCanns do seem to place too much emphasis on covering their own failings as parents. Add together the info available, many of it never reported in the English media. No wonder people have taken a dislike to them. Overall, there isn't a completely logical theory about what happened, but the McCanns have brought suspicion upon themselves with their actions. |

I am sticking to the facts and trying to be rational and ojbective, George. Hardly noise, but if you are looking for the noise, it's all there in your attention seeking Shock Jock links.

Why do people call her "maddy"
a bit too overly familiar ? I only ever shorten people's names when I know them well, seems strange. |

wherever they hid the body they've done a good job, kate will crack eventually for sure

If the abduction was staged why would Gerry have said that when he checked he saw the children fine and the door moved ?
( yes I know some think he may have done this to pretend that he was there and the intruder was hiding ) But why not just say the obvious thing, he checked, everything was fine Then if Kate was next to check she would say on entering the apt she noticed the patio/ bedroom door open and Madeleine gone Or if Kate was not next to check and it was one of the friends Gerry would have left the bedroom door open for the next person to find. Why if staging the abduction would he put himself there at the same time as the intruder ? there is no difference as to whether there was an abduction between him saying the door was moved or Kate saying the door was moved later , when Madeleine was gone |
|
By:
Fair point, Toby. Unlikely. Would need a bag to put her in etc. And even then unlikely.
|
|
By:
Why would someone who had staged an abduction say he was there at the time and not somewhere else if there is no value or benefit in saying it ?
|
|
By:
I was really just trying to illustrate that the fact that over time, someone was breaking into holiday homes in the area and abusing young girls. I would have thought this was precise MO was unusual and statistically unlikely...and therefore may, possibly, have a bearing. And trying to figure out how such an incident might have escalated into an abduction.
|
|
By:
Why would he say he was at the scene of the abduction when it was taking place , and heard or saw nothing .
if there is no benefit in him having been there if all he noticed was the door moved When Kate, or the next person could have said that |
|
By:
The McCanns insist the abduction happened at a certain time to fit in with the Tanner sighting (even though the Met has now debunked her sighting they still insist it might have been her). The Tanner sighting is crucial to their abduction thoery as it's the only evidence of an abduction.
In order to fit in the timeline and give the abductor enough time to strike Gerry theorises that the abductor was already in the apartment when he checked on the kids (proved by the door having moved). So, Gerry theorises, after he left the abductor snatched Madeleine and was seen by Jane Tanner making off into the middle distance. Gerry never mentioned the door moving in his first statements it seems to have come back to him later. None of this proves they did anything like Amaral says but is shows the lengths they will go to attempt to show Madeleine was abducted as this is the scenario that most mitigates their negligence. |
|
By:
This is something that someone staging an abuduction would not do,
It doesn't make sense for Gerry to say the door had moved, there is no benefit in saying that He would only say that if it wasn't staged, and that the McCanns weren't staging an abduction But it was real and he was telling the truth |
|
By:
If the abducter was there, inside or outside or close by Gerry mentioning the door being moved has no bearing on the timeline

People love to get outraged by bad parenting it gives them an opportunity to tell everyone what a wonderful parent they are.....chuck in a Agatha Christie type mystery and its double bubble!
|
|
By:
Imo everyone who has a kid should have to attend a parenting course ,high % of parents are f shocking.
|
|
By:
No one guilty of staging an abduction would put themselves at the apt at the same time as the intruder
They would put themselves elsewhere That is why Gerry description is one that no one staging an abduction would say And that is why his description of what he found must be the truth |
|
By:
I think I may have proven the McCanns innocent ?

I think you maybe on coke

By:
no lfc its not a salient point.
Even if he is telling the truth, there is every chance some details are incorrect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RpjDnol1Fo I'll ask you tomorrow how many you remember |
|
By:
Nothing else matters, forget all the many theories,
The McCanns must be innocent The description that Gerry gave when he checked the apt must be true It is not a question of believing him What he said could only have been said if he was innocent It could not have been said by someone staging an abduction as I have explained Read back over everything , look at it again |
|
By:
The few words themselves that Gerry used to describe what he saw when he checked the apt
these few words. it is not a question of believing them or him They are words that could not have been said if they were not true |
|
By:
This is the crux of it.
The words were said It doesn't matter if we believe them to be true or not they could not have been said by someone guilty they would only be said by someone innocent these are the words that Gerry said . |

Im looking for a new business idea...I'm thinking of a board game similar to Cludeo but featuring the McCanns. I think it could be a winner...look out for me on Dragons Den.

itcanbedone, OK, you're the man who puts stuff to bed, so let's take an aspect of the case and put it to bed!
We'll consider the photo's of Madeline that week (or should that be the lack of them?) 5 of them? So we've got the three where she's wearing the clothes she had on at the airport, leading observers to think those photo's were probably taken on the Saturday they arrived or Sunday at the latest. We have the tennis balls photo, which leads to obvious questions such as: 1. Where are all the other kids, parents and tennis coach? 2. Why only the one photo of that tennis session? 2. Why did more than one person claim to have taken the photo? 3. Did Kate really run all the way back to apartment to grab her camera while Madeline held that pose? 4. Why was Madeline holding full size tennis balls when presumably the kids would have used the lighter spongier balls? And there's the 'final' photo beside the pool: 1. Some have examined the weather records from that week and suggested Sunday would have been the last day where it was warm and sunny for long enough to have been sat around the pool in shades and light summer clothing, particularly as Thursday was apparently cloudy and on the cooler side. 2. Why did it take 3 weeks to come up with the photo? And other questions such as: 1. Why wasn't that photo handed to the police initially along with the others, and why were there only 3 colour ones amongst a load of black and white, hard to distinguish ones, given to police? So 6 days of holiday, but apparently just ? 5 colour photo's and 2 of them open seemingly to question, and the lack of holiday snaps leading some to question, along with a glut of other stuff, if Madeline was still alive after the Sunday. |

George B, as an exercise, how about you have a go yourself at running through each of those points and coming up with a feasible explanation...it's really very easy to do.
There are also several factual inaccuracies in there btw...some of which have already been corrected on the tread if you had been paying attention. once you have had first crack, if need be, I will help out. |

So we're both agreed, you've put nothing to bed.

People love to get outraged by bad parenting it gives them an opportunity to tell everyone what a wonderful parent they are Common sense tells you not to leave three kids aged three or less in an apartment whilst you go wining and dining with friends. Not a one off but an every night occasion. Stop trying to defend the indefensible. Two selfish individuals and their child suffered because of their neglect. |
