plus the fact they left their children unattended, one disappeared, and since then have sought to blame anyone but themselves. That Clydebank is the reason why people dislike them. Nothing to do with their standing in society. I think as well that this case has highlighted everything that is wrong with the internet. Abduction or an accidental death covered up. Seek and you'll find convincing 'proof' of both. I like everyone else don't know the truth of the matter but tend to think abduction more likely. |

There is effectively no hard evidence of either an abduction, an accidental death, a murder/manslaughter or a 3rd party accident.
Anyone who bullishly asserts otherwise, or pins the blame with any level of definitve certainty is guilty of bias and lack of judgement/objectivty imo. |

Imagine this scenario scandanavian haven
One parent returns to check on the kids, finds Madeleine dead as the result of an accident. For any one of a number of reasons already speculated upon (and it may be nothing more than the fact that the kids were left unsupervised, which would have consequences for the parents), that parent decides that the authorities can`t be informed.He/she picks up their dead child, walks out onto the street to the nearest wheelie bin to perhaps temporarily hide or else dispose of the body. After midnight the contents of the bin is on the way to landfill. The task could be potentially completed in 10 minutes. Parent then returns to the tapas bar and pretends nothing has happened. The said parent would have to be a cold, calculating and heartless individual who may never even admit the truth to spouse. No conspiracy, no need for doctored photos. It really could be as simple as that. |

As far as I remember he spoke to a female on the street after `checking` on the kids. Did he need to access the apartment by the street or could he have come around by the pool which would have been shorter as the crow flies.

Regarding potentially related intruder/paedophilic incidents in the area; Reported in 2014.... British police investigating the disappearance of three-year-old Madeleine McCann are now looking into 18 other suspected assaults on children in the same area. Madeleine vanished in May 2007 from her family’s resort apartment in Praia da Luz on Portugal’s south coast and her disappearance remains unsolved. Police say all 18 potentially linked cases involve a male intruder into holiday villas occupied by British families vacationing in Portugal’s Algarve region between 2004 and 2010. Some of those incidents involved sexual assaults on children. Last month police said a suspect may have been responsible for 12 cases of intrusions and assaults on children in the Algarve. In six of the 12 incidents the man sat on the youngsters’ beds and in four of the incidents he went on to commit serious sexual assaults on five little girls. Police said Wednesday further inquiries have identified six more cases. Last month Scotland Yard also issued a description of the man thought to be responsible. He was said to be tanned, with dark unkempt hair, unshaven and having a distinct odour. Some described him as having a pot belly. Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood said the man appeared to have “an unhealthy interest in young white female children.” |

So he gets in to this one and finds Madeleine there totaly defenceless... he just molests her right there doesn't he as per usual  Would seem a perfect scenario for him , and and a bit baffling that he would decide instead to drag her out of bed - back out through the patio doors , after of course first inexplicably opening the window - then carry the screaming child through the streets ..... |

No danger of a McCann defender providing any detailed explanation of all the discrepancies and oddities in their words and actions. Also needs be short because the McAnn defenders , as they always demonstrate on these thread - actually know very little about the case. |

Like I said above, I also read that Cuddle Cat was put in the wash soon after Madeleine's disappearance. I find that almost impossible to believe that any parent would do such a thing in those circumstances, but is the story true???

Torq....Cuddle Cat was washed a full 70 days after Maddie disappeared. FACT. Pictures close to the time showed how filthy it had become form being carried around and held .
Despite this it is wildly depicted in the media and crackpot sites that the Media irresponsibly quote from; She had washed it 5 days after the event and that the police found that strange. NOT TRUE. Abut as true as the urban myth that Gerry played tennis the next day. And a 100 other bs facts tat the teret propogates n this case. The irony is that Tobermory accuses the so-called McCann defenders (I am not not one by the way merely objective) are not familiar with the case...if anything the reverse is true. Concentrate on the hard verifiable evidence, of which there is almost none, if any. Not interpretation of false soft myths about toys and tennis, etc. |

Wow, simply Wow..and again typical. The opposite is true.......they actually volunteered for tests when they came back from the UK....hair tests....an no, it had not been cut. I can find no verifiable suggestions that the Portuguese requested any drug tests whatsever at any time...in keeping with their general incompetence. |

Regarding the intruder/paedophile episodes in the Algarve frm 2004 to 2010....yes, there is no abduction, but otherwise the MO is strikingly similar. Breaking in to the bedrooms of young white girls on holiday in a very small area. It doesn't take a huge leap of imagination to imagine why Maddie might have been different, if connnected and YES, its a speculative IF, but what if... ..he was starting out with Maddie, and what with the pavalova and media focus post abduction, decided to not abduct again....but still needed his sick thrills. OR....something went wrong with Maddie and she died...ie. he smothered her to keep her quiet when disturbed during one of the checks...He panics and rather than leave her and potential forensic evidence on her corpse he grabs her etc etc. |

I really don't know about their guilt or not.....the lack of hard evidence for any of the potential scenarios means anyone who draws definitve conclusions with any degree of certainty is not being objective.
Is Chit Chat a reflection of wider societal views? In this case, probably. People don't like them, they don't react in the way people expect (CB has made some good points to potentially explain this; their profession, class and stoicism) plus people are sick to the back teeth of this case and the interent has excelled itself in muddying the water by propogating myths around this case. It has become a crackpot conspiracy theorists wet dream. On other matters, political and other, Chit Chat is not representative of wider societal views. We lack women, younger people, fresh blood and a wide socio- economic range imo. |

No thanks, maybe you have the time to waste 4 hours of your life watching some amateur slueth playing detective but I don't. I'm not trying to suppress anything, this, along with "mccann defender" or "apologist" is the standard go to answer for people who try to justify their weird, obsessive and creepy behaviour/interest in this unfortunant case. Maybe I don't know all of the intricate details that you professional mccann trolls do, but that doesn't take away from the fact that you have no answers as to how she disappeared and managed to stay that way and that's what matters, the rest is all speculative and circumstantial until proved otherwise. |

One last contribution...
Take the exchange on here earlier which lasted a few pages about the most recent photo not being made available till 3 weeks later. NOT STRICTLY TRUE....the photo of her with the tennis balls from that week was provided 2 days later. I believe it was the penultimate photo of her, likely chosen because she was alone in it and fuller frame..rather than having to take Gerry and the twins out and enlarge her. When we get int the RDH realms of allegedly faking photos (no real proof that they did, more likely they simply cropped the tennis photo, hence the electronic trail of an alteration) to establish her not having died on anther day and simulatnously switching on and off phones with Murat, deleting phone records to no obvious end...we are into the realms of fantasy James Bond territory....the more complication the more likely they were to make a balls of it and properly implicate themselves. Occam's razor. |
