Just about, I remember the music beat was exactly the same as Johnny Remember Me, by The Great Escape tunnel king, John Leyton.

You've got to fight for what you want, and all that you believe..................
Flashing Blade lyrics. Love the theme. All the words I remember unfortunately. |

'The Wonder Years' is a very good shout gibs, I liked that show.
Superstars used to be very good as well, Andy Ripley, Brian Jacks, Keith Fielding, Brian Hooper, Kevin Keegan etc. |
|
By:
Fantasy Island a shocking omission
|
|
By:
Keith Fielding beating the NFL flying running back in World Superstars was great TV ......only for the yanks to give their guy the result .
My dad always said he was even faster than Offiah. |
|
By:
Glad I'm not the only dinosaur on here that remembers Kieth Fielding 626, he was lightening quick. Malcolm Macdonald was no slouch either. My favourite Superstar was easily Andy Ripley though, I was lucky enough to have met him through Rosslyn Park rugby club and played cricket with him as well. A true Great British Corinthian.

Flashing Blade unforgettable theme tune.
But the daddy of all theme tunes is Superstars. Nothing gets near it. |

Poignant but amusing: SINK OR SWIM, two brothers on a houseboat, with Peter Davison
Absurd but funny and weirdly realistic: NIGHTINGALES, three security guards, with Robert Lindsay Old-fashioned but funny: SLAP with er .. dunno, ITV comedy aired about 7pm set in a Manchester(?) make-up shop |

zorro - good thinking - will look tomorrow for a full episode

tried to watch flashing blade recently - got through one episode and gave up.
used to really like it. now its eh? still can sing the song, as if you can forget that. come white horses, snowy white horses.... see, perfect. |
|
By:
Bilko still time-invariant.
Callan - when Edward Woodwood could act. Hill Street Blues bar the first couple before it got into its stride. And Dennis Franz was first a b$nt cop who was killed and then a good cop in the final episodes and then got a series of his own which sunk like a stone before NYPD (Sipowicz). |

Agree, bodil

Before entering Hill Street Blues (1981), as Norm Buntz, appeared as Sal Benedetto for a few episodes (then shot dead).
Later Beverly Hills Buntz with Peter Jurasik, his snitch in HSB. Then NYPD. Oh good, James Sikking is still alive. |
|
By:
I really liked norman buntz in hill street blues, he was a first class ar$ehole, but there was something sexy about him, fat and unattractive as he was. Men are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky they can be unattractive, evil, fat and still be sexy, it's not fair

No mention of Champion the Wonder Horse. A sort of early version of Skippy from the USA.
|
|
By:
You've just made a lot of people on here very happy.
Not me of course. |
|
By:
Champion the Wonder Horse may well have made annie happy.
Oh, different topic. Right. |
|
By:
Look, I can't help it.
I should have been a Hollywood scriptwriter. Amoral and without hope of salvation. |
|

Champion the Wonder Horse may well have made annie happy.
Oh yeah BODIL, BODIL, BODIL, pot, kettle etc etc ![]() |
|
By:
Unfortunately hollywood scriptwriters have a lot to answer for. They colluded with the producers produce anodyne films that adhered to the 'production code' that was to go on for about thirty years. Years in which people of our generation did not learn about homosexuality, sex etc etc. Everything, mostly, was based around 'happy families' sort of. Sorry I am tired.
|
|
By:
I probably shouldn't ...
Actually Bodil was sensible - ponies only internally. Gosh I'm a poet and I didn't know it. |
|
By:
Now I am feeling a bit queasy......
|
|
By:
Well, Hollywood and the TV establishment have lost control - anything and everything is possible. Ironically, we no longer have the time for most of it.
We are all drifting apart. Oh god, we may have to look ourselves in the eye? |
|
By:
Sweet dreams all. It could get better?
