Cauthenmeister, you are right Blush

I knew who I meant but had forgotten his name in hill street blues and when I looked it up on wiki I got muddled up because he played sipowizc in nypd blue which I haven't seen.  AGree about Mick Belker, one of my all time favourite tv characters.

Sorry to harp on about how Buntz and Mick Belker were so attractive but I do so because men make the mistake of thinking that women only care for attractive men, like men mainly only care about looks in women.  Women are far more attracted to men's personalities than to their looks.  Okay looks can get you started but then if men have rubbish personalities then it will end, looks or not.  Obviously this is not the same for men as a woman can be practically a moron but if they are attractive then that is sufficient.

I write these things occasionally because I have been helped a lot from advice on here and I would like to give some back as there are some nice men on here that could do with female partners. Not me I hasten to add.

Buntz and Belker were almost unattractive and buntz was not nice but they were sexy.

Tomorrow's World,
Anyone remember the show where the presenter demonstrated the new fangled CD (compact disc)?
After demonstrating it, he stated that it would never catch on, as everyone had their music on tape!

the stomach episode in Bilko  - awesome.

did an episode on horse racing in which he gets the elite scientists to pick out his horses too.

Joe mcdoakes did a good episode - called so You Want to Be a Gambler (1948), loved it.

Rocket man - jeff king, was just mental, constant punching... like a twelve rounder.  He should have had a tazer or something. it always came down to a mad fist fight.

growing up you didn't realize how close to the second world war it was? the old movies seem really dated now, but back then they were pretty new. Imagine 1995 films now?
Cagney was Massive. Now a lot of people wouldn't know him at all? that's just bizarre to think about. I know a few people in their thirties no idea who Jimmy Cagney was?

Capt F, 'let's be careful out there' was part of the reason that I liked the desk sergeant Phil Esterhaus.  It was a shame he died in the series and of course in real life.

It is really annoying that they won't show 'it ain't half hot' because it is deemed racist.

I despair of the United ( you must be joking ) Kingdom Sad  If I was younger I might campaign or something, but life is too short to go banging you head etc.  But then I despair of almost everything about our country nowadays.

Profit:

Profit is a U.S. television drama series that originally aired in 1996 on the Fox Broadcasting Company (Mondays at 9:00 p.m. EST). The series was created (and occasionally directed) by David Greenwalt and John McNamara, and starred Adrian Pasdar as the eponymous lead character Jim Profit. In February 2008 repeat episodes began airing on Chiller (in the USA),[1] and in October 2010 on CBS Action (in Europe).[2]

Considered by many to have been well ahead of its time, the series was a precursor to the early-21st-century trend of “edgy” TV melodramas (featuring dark themes and multidimensional characters) such as: The Sopranos; Mad Men; Nip/Tuck; Dexter; Breaking Bad and The Shield. Controversial themes (largely stemming from the lead character’s amoral, Richard III-style ways) made the show uncomfortable and unfamiliar viewing for mainstream U.S. audiences and Fox network affiliates at the time, leading to its cancellation after just three episodes (not including the pilot) aired.[3] In 2013 TV Guide ranked the series #4 on its list of 60 shows that were "Canceled Too Soon", calling the series "shockingly memorable".[4]

Summary[edit]
Jim Profit is a newly promoted junior-executive at Gracen & Gracen (G&G), a multinational conglomerate that often engages in unethical business practices while actively cultivating a positive public image. G&G’s dark side does not bother Profit, who is not above using blackmail, bribery, extortion, or worse to get ahead himself. Jim Profit addresses the audience via voiceover narration, and occasionally even “breaks the fourth wall” by speaking directly to the camera/audience with such quotes as: "The line most people say they won't cross... it's usually something they've already done when they thought no one was watching." Through frequent inner monologues, Profit shares his motives, plans, and situational observations with the audience. When home alone at night, Profit continues his ‘work’ in his office (hidden behind a false wall of his living room), searching the Internet and hacking G&G’s servers for information to be used as research and ammunition for his various schemes. Whenever he eliminates or outmaneuvers a G&G target, that person's avatar is exploded and erased from his computer’s virtual-G&G-offices environment. While obviously affluent and living in a well-furnished luxury penthouse, Profit still goes to bed the same way he did as a child: curled up, naked in the corner of the large G&G shipping box he was raised in.

what happened to Hale and Pace - they were funny. Only lasted a few years. Thought they'd go on like the two ronnies into institutional christmas shows?

Hill street blues was spoiled by the captain's ex wife.... oh, she was a drain of energy.

I just waited to see the wee guy bite someone in the episodes. I liked the eccentricities of his character.

but overall spoiled by that woman... the producer's wife?
