I find it difficult to understand why more has not been made of the fact that the sniffer dogs picked up the smell of a cadaver in a hire car which was hired 30 days after her disappearance. How can anyone explain that away?
For some reason, we in the UK are seemingly deprived of most of the relevant information by the media Suspected paedos in their social circle and accusations of "swinging" - too many people with too much to lose goncaloamaraltruthofthelie dot blogspot dot co dot uk makes for a fascinating read |

Are child abductions from inside somebodies property extremely rare? I would have thought it would be far easier to snatch a child when its outside [beach, shopping centres etc].

It is an awful shame that this whole circus now seems to be about the parents - bottom line is that the little girl is
gone - probably for good. So sad. (The next paragraph is a repeat of mine but it's how I see it now). The parents have been criticised and vilified for leaving the children alone on that awful day. (And, God alone knows what mental anguish and torture they must have been through since then). But, putting that aside for one moment, there is something very "extra-ordinary" about their whole attitude. Are they really so detached from the opinions of so-called "ordinary" people that they do not realise that behaving in a certain (shall I say more human?) way at the time might have helped their "standing" - particularly back here in Britain. I honestly believe, and hope, that they had nothing to do with their little girl's disappearance but they seem to have done nothing to endear themselves to the general public at all. It's all very well to say things like -We deal with our grief in our own way. In private, or by carrying on with tennis lessons, jogging etc- and it is true that everyone deals with trauma/heartache differently. But these people have often come across (publicly) as cold and indifferent. The whole media circus, Maddie funds, books, etc have distorted things out of all proportion and I don't believe there will ever be a satisfactory outcome to this tragic case. But (in my "ordinary person" opinion) the McCanns seem doomed to be remembered not as those "poor parents who lost their little girl" but as something totally the opposite. |

Some people on here with very vivid imaginations.
Ask yourself this.............. If the McCanns really did have something to do with her disappearance.........then why would they lobby the hell out of David Cameron in order for him to order the Mets/Scotland Yards best detectives to investigate the case with seemingly limitless funding! Surely they would want it all to be dying down and being forgot about by now............. If they did have a hand in her disappearance then their action of getting Britains finest detectives on the case would be an incredible double bluff. No way were they involved. |
By:
There is no evidence that the McCanns were involved but neither is there any evidence of an abduction.
By:
I've never understood why there isn't a colossal reward for info leading to her whereabouts - the money is there so that can't be the reason - noone gets a penny unless she'd found so what is there to lose?
By:
AT
The amount of false leads generated from people speculating to have a chance of the reward would overwhelm the enquiry i would imagine. This is no ordinary case. Ps, look on wiki for the dog expert saying that the cadaver dogs can only detect for upto 28 days. |
By:
I thought about that but I wonder how you get a lot of chancers wasting police time.
In a lot of cases, I've wondered it too - why isn't there more of a cash reward for info leading to an arrest. |
By:
There is plenty of evidence they were involved. The cadaver dogs, blood, sightings of Gerry carryng a child, obstruction of police, history of neglect. There is no way the Met will bring prosecution against McCanns everyone nows it including the McCanns. Without body nothing can be proved either way.
The cadaver dogs wher handled by a cadaver dog person (police?) from uk, Dont you think he would know about what his dogs can do and cant do than wikipedia ![]() |

brendanuk1 - if the English police thought they had reason to follow a different lead, I'm sure they would. These are people are dedicate their lives to solving crime.

With the brain cells of gnats.. |

I wonder how you get a lot of chancers wasting police time
I've heard that given as a reason - but the police have hardly been overwhelmed with promising leads. Noone gets a penny unless she's found so timewasters have nothing more to gain than they have at the moment. |
By:
How do you propose Gerry McCann got rid of the body if that's what you believe ?
If you lost a daughter surely you would be too devastated to think rationally and methodically enough to hide her without trace, you would make some mistakes along the way, I remember at the time TV companies interviewing Portuguese parents who had had kidnapped children go missing without trace, these kidnappers are professional child thieves, the Mccans are Doctors/denists. |
By:
IF the McCanns were involved, then there has to be a 3rd or more persons involved as well..
By:
Lol, so now we have moved on from the Mccanns being involved, the tapas 9 being involved and now you are saying that the police are also covering for them aswell by refusing to investigate them.
words fail me. |
By:
i thought the same cadaver dogs were used to detect dead bodies in jersey childrens home long after it closed ?
certaining longer than 28 days the dogs did find stuff in the flat and car, its what they found that is under dispute ?? the problem i have with it all is finding out which statements are true and which are made up i remember reading chariots of the gads as a child and assuming the author was repeating facts even a good cort case will throw up experts who will disagree, but at least we will know what is true, what is half true and what is fabricated after 6 years of a media campaign for the hearts and minds of the public , surely the public are entitled to have all the facts put before them |
By:
Common sense tells you that the McCanns didn't do it, but common sense also entitles you to ask why there are so many discrepancies, anomolies and contradictions in their version of events.
None of it makes any sense. |
By:
It's blatantly obvious that a LOT of common senses don't share your confidence.

redwood said they wanted to strip this right back to the start,
besides the macaans and the tapas 9,what time was the last sighting of maddie by anyone else, 3 visits to the room by tapas 9,windows opening, doors opening, curtains moving yet 3 small children who,d been restless the previouis nights ,not a peep, not credible unless of course the sedation theory holds water, which would also explain, how she was abled to be carried through town ,without a sound why do people find it possible to believe that kidnappers could sedate her but not 2 drs with a restless child, just a few points to muse over |

Ayers Rock,
Child's play to dispose of a body that night in Luz. The bins are collected every night at midnight, including that night. Landfill site to which rubbish taken never searched, not that it would have been easy. |
By:
Ayer forget about abduction, how safe is it to leave a 4 year old,an two 2 years olds in a chalet?
By:
Ozy ................all your doing is getting into my mind.........
By:
they dumped her casually in a bin with the locl knowledge that bins were collected every night after being there for how long?
she was abducted, research how many kids go missing in resorts |
By:
Just answering your question, AR. They had been there a week as you know.
Not putting forward any theory per se. |
By:
So much odd behaviour around this case - such as when months after the disappearance the Tapas 9 met up together secretly at a hotel in this country. According to Clarence Mitchell:
"They weren't comparing notes or doing anything untoward. It was an operational meeting to discuss what might be coming up in the next few weeks. "They are in touch all the time by phone and emails anyway but decided to meet face to face. They were together for a few hours and discussed the overall position. They wanted to see each other because they hadn't done so for some time." |
By:
did they take all the kids,

By:
yeah fair enough ozy
but would people please stop referencing the guy who made money from selling his side of the story, you vilify the mccans for having substantial funds to find her but dont criticise the guy who taken off the case and the made a personal fortune off the back of a missing child - and he has form in bringing his force into disrepute involving another missing girl, covering up the beatings of parents who were forced into confession who later wanted to retract them, he has no credence |
By:
would be interesting to know how many phone calls Crimewatch had saying "yep - that's Gerry alright"
By:
until he puts his hands up your stumped & if & when he does .......prob looking at 18 months .........accirding to a bloke down the pub
By:
Another oddness is why the McCanns frittered away Fund money on Metodo 3 - a firm of investigators who had absolutely no experience in this kind of work.
By:
I wouldn't indict either side - the cop or the McCanns = for the financial improprieties each have had the opportunities to enact, whether they did or they didn't. Plenty better stuff available upon which to come to one's own opinion.
By:
The integrity of the cop, vis a vis the case, is intact.
By:
The cops believe it was a staged abduction. There is very good evidence to support that. There is no evidence of an abduction. Go figure.
By:
would'nt trust anything the police said at the moment.out of control imo.

Is there any particular reason anyone can think of, for the media's total backing of the couple? And their failure to give a balanced view on this tragic case?
By:
What should they say to balance the case?
By:
why are the press biased ?
sells newspapers ! |
By:
So neither of you have got a reason..
And they could start by reporting what other countries think about the case instead of whitewashing.. |
