six years later and still being crucified for the same thing, i agree they deserved the criticism for leaving them alone, but not accusing them of getting rid of their child's body, cos that's something that could swing one way or the other, abductions in Portugal are not uncommon, what i'm saying is so much suspicion for the parents but hardly any mention of the fact it could easily of been kidnapp

ayers , the main gyst of the thread is that there are enough question marks & irregularities to see possibilities other than abduction.Theres hardly a mention of kidnap because thats the mainstream belief that the british police seem more than happy to go along with.

yeah i know that, i believe in some conspiracy theories like 911 being an inside job because there is so much evidence - in that case, there is not, people keep referencing the book - but never bother to mention how corrupt that fella was and his own history

Interesting.

Links to any child abductions in portugal? I don't mean attempted child abductions (they happen all over the world inc the UK), I mean abductions where children have actually been taken - names / dates etc. In other words a similar portugese case to the McCann one.

If it's not uncommon shouldn't be a problem sourcing one.

on the questions sheet there were some that made references to  them possibly not being happy with madeline and possibly were thinking of giving her away.

maybe this is standard questioning in such cases , or maybe the portuguese old bill had statement which suggested there may have been issues and could fully back up their questioning.

either way not answering the question put a serious doubt over them.

http://www.parentdish.co.uk/2012/05/04/30-kids-have-gone-missing-in-portugal-since-madeleine-mccann-disappeared/

But, it was more about the TV reporting at the time, they interviewed a few people who had kids go missing - they were complaining that they never had the same attention as madeline mccann,

From what I''ve seen of the incompetence of the Portuguese police in this one case alone is that they appear to be nothing short of useless, if the policeman taken off this case early on had previous for covering up similar stories - how many more covers are there -I remember police at the time were themselves accused of being involved in these paedo gangs

And you can see why they would not wish to answer leading questions. They didn't trust the pol;ice, and rightly so. Their detective only ever wanted to prove the guilt of the parents. He was a bad cop.
He is now fuming because his 'exclusive' book is being questioned.

How many children are abducted in England and Wales? The possible abduction of April Jones has pushed the issue onto the front pages, but how common is it?

The latest crime figures, published by the Office for National Statistics, show 532 cases of child abduction reported to police in 2011/12. The figures do not include Scotland, which has a separate justice system.

That figure is down 3% on the previous year and much lower than the high of 1,035 cases in 2004/05.

The 30 'kids' who have gone missing since Madeleine in Portugal include youngsters up to the age of 18 who have run away from home. It also includes those who later turned up. None of the cases were of a similar nature to Madeleine's. This is a rarity.

here is a article 6 years ago about how the elite are involved in paedophile gangs and how common place they are, with portugal being the haven of such people, it also details the blatantly obvious fact that amaral simply was a bul**** who was displeased having been throwing off the case, unable to solve it, and simply making anything up

i think the mccanns are getting it in the neck again because in her bbc interview she stated madeline had been crying the previous night

which brought home the attitude problems of the whole thing

its difficult for most people to see beyond that, even if it is likely to be a separate issue

odd , imo, that the bbc and mccanns allowed that to be aired, as it distracts from the stated intention of crimewatch

Ivor those statistics include children abducted by one of their own parents in marital disputes which accounts for the vast majority. Cases like Madeleine's are very rare and the only other British child abducted abroad in recent memory was Ben Needham, 22 years ago.

only giving a balanced view imo

the portguese police bent over backwards to discredit them

so why not the british police counter that

i understand the perception on the mccans, but to build such a strong case against them based on mistruths is not right, yes i realise i seem to be in the majority of one sticking up for them but there you go i can take it,

Id be interested to know what evidence exists regarding mobile telephone activity in the area. As i understand it, in this country.........if the police wanted to find out exactly where i had been over the last week then this would be possible if i had my mobile phone on me as they can tell everywhere its been.

If the Portuguese phone network saves similar information then somewhere in amongst that mammoth of data might be the phone of the person responsible for the abduction.
By:

one of the rumours was that gerrys phone was traced to a barn about 20 km away from the resort

when police went to barn there were fibres matching the hire car

i have no idea if that is true, or which parts of it are true, if any,

but a good program debunking the myths that have sprung up is long overdue

the phone data in in the mcannfiles site. There was one mast in the resort and i think you cant tell much from that data.  Plenty of stuff out there though

Main recent development has been the Brit "owning up" to being Jane Tanner's abductor. Real shame it took him 6 years to do so.

Nobody has yet attempted to answer my question

If the Mccanns were involved, why would they lobby and hound the British government into funding an investigation by this countries finest detectives?

Surely not something that a guilty person would do. Anyone care to theorize or are you lot content to ignore any evidence that appears to exhonerate them?

Donny, sounds like a complete fabrication to me, not heard that one before.

AT

What use would deleting the call history be? It can be deleted from the phone but its still on the networks records, texts, calls, the lot......

Do you really think the police wont have examined their phone records? The fact we have heard little of such actions is more than likely because the records showed nothing out of the ordinary!

why do killers write letters to police , taunting them ?

the macanns need some movement on the abduction side to counter the accidental death claims from portugal

the phonecall stuff is alluded to at .........http://www.mccannfiles.com/id33.html

i dont know if thats how the rumour started ?

Is it generally agreed that there are only two possibilities - a planned abduction or the parents being in some involved in the death of their child and then covering it up?

Going back in time when such an incident happens the police must focus their resources from the onset on finding the child alive so therefore the abduction theory must take priority at that time. But in lots of cases the child is already dead and a family member is responsible.

But now six years later any police follow up must surely be based on just two possibilities and the parents should be ruled out or not. Surely the met police detectives, when they took over the case should have started with looking to rule out the parents. Have they done this. Had either of the parents or someone they knew the opportunity to dispose of a body given the time frame of events and are the time frame of events proven beyond doubt.

If a body was hastily disposed in a rubbish bin as some people think possible then surely the police would have been able to check what refuge collection were carried out that night and what collection point the refuge went to. Would that not be possible.

When: 17 Oct 13 20:03
Jimmy it could easily be that one of them wasn't involved and therefore would be doing as they are doing now thinking it is an abduction. Not saying thats the case. I personally don't see how anything can be ruled in or out given the lack of evidence as to how she went missing.

I'm not sure why you think the Portuguese police are so incompetent Ayers when the UK police have made just as much progress.
By:
brendanuk1
When: 17 Oct 13 20:11
Gonzalez asked the McCanns: "You were the last people to see Madeleine alive, is that correct?"
Mr McCann replied: "That's part of the investigation and we are not going to divulge anything that might get in the way of the investigation."

He then stormed out the interview
By:

When: 17 Oct 13 20:15
yes of course its most likely that one of the wasn't involved, no wonder that Gerry has to go along with kates continueos campaign .
