A lot of stuff that doesn't paint the McCanns in a good light:
lawyering up with the best attorneys money can buy within hours of the disappearance cadaver dogs scouring the whole holiday camp but only alerting at things related to the McCanns claming the window shutters were forced open when they weren't a search "fund" which is actually a limited company - only a handful of people know where the money goes not searching themselves but leaving it to others hiring detectives who had absolutely no experience of this kind of case None of which makes them guilty of course. I can well believe they did it though - only issue I have is how as tourists in an unfamiliar location they might have got rid of the body. We'll never find out the truth of this case. |
By:
back to being weird and nasty
they would not have had much time to get rid of the body...the Portuguese police would have searched...so I am not sure on that one ![]() agree Baldwin clunge would definitely have to reprise his ideas of parental responsibility |

By:
Oldgold,
Where has Gerry's sister got this information from? She is the first person to come out with this information. She is saying exactly what she knows, having spoke to her brother. |
By:
I think this was at the time of Kate's notorious police interview when she declined to answer questions. The police theory at the time was that the child died accidentally in the apartment and the McCanns covered it up. The McCann team assumed she was going to be charged but she never was.
By:
Erm, the clip says that her lawyer believed that she was to be charged.

No, B65, there's only a very vague Ms CH also.
As a child, even at age 6 or 7, I was left alone often. I doubt it's that unusual. There were a few hairy moments, like when I decided I knew how to fry things...but I survived the experience. Given that the children were sleeping and the parents checked on them regularly, I don't consider their actions that odd at all. There's been any number of stories since of parents who've literally left their children alone to go on holiday. The only reason the McCanns have had such attention is jealousy. |
By:
Then it must be true. Wasit?
By:
your still defending the indefensible clunge whether you think people are jealous or not
why do you think people get childminders or baby sitters in ![]() |
By:
children wake up
By:
My Q was to Old Gold. Not to CH.
By:
I ask myself what is more believeable Something happened to Madeline and her parents know about it or that by chance someone got the correct room and took a child only the one though and left no trace.
The other explanation is that they were being watched by someone working at the hotel. You have to haver a set of circumstances go right for the person to take her. |
By:
Don't get the question naydam, few beers in.
By:
I think people get childminders in to look after their children ebulGery?
Why do people describe having a meal with friend, as going on the piss? |
By:
Clunge,
Boll@cks - nothing to do with jealousy, - all to do with bad parenting. And leaving a child alone at 7 is VERY unusual (and illegal) There are indeed stories of parents who've left their kids to go on holiday but that doesn't defend them. Your parents may have done it and you may well have turned out a totally rounded human being. They were still wrong though. |
By:
which they did not do did they???
I suspect that meal involved alcohol, what is the difference, you only have their word for it so what you are saying is as long as people are having a meal with friends rather than just drinking it is perfectly ok for them to leave their children unattended ![]() ![]() you are in the wrong and you know it clunge |
By:
No, I'm saying that when you said they went 'on the piss' you were attempting to skew the picture dishonestly. They didn't, they went for a meal with friends.
By:
clunge are you mad?
These kids are under 3 years old for f sake! In a foreign country in a house they are unfamiliar with. No decent parent would go out on the lash and leave them alone. Its sickening that you can defend the undefensable. They are 2 doctors earning good money and they wouldn't pay for a registered childminder (which that resort has them). You cannot defend them on this matter I hope madeline is safe and well. But the parents strange behaviour afterwards is very disturbing. |
By:
agree
when you are in a hole clunge stop digging |
By:
They didn't go out on the lash. They went for a meal with friends. That's accepted, reported fact. If you're so disturbed/jealous that you insist on misrepresenting that then it's really yourself you need to look at. I don't object at all to the idea that you don't think children should be unsupervised, but the fact that you attempt to spread misinformation about the parents suggests that you have larger problems.
By:
Which of course is why society, the media, the police, aren't persecuting the McCann's in the way you'd ask :-)
By:
Jealous? not at all, anger is the word clunge!
They should have been charged with child negligence. ps alcohol was consumed was it not? |

Sky News live report at time Kate made aguido.
Gerry Mccann's sister, Philomena, says that she.. "expects Kate Mccann to be charged with the accidental death of Madeliene" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iq5UcyQ_NfE NEXT MINUTE WE HERE... KATE MCCANN REFUSES TO ANSWER 48 of 49 QUESTIONS. . http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1041635/The-48-questions-Kate-McCann-wouldnt-answer--did.html |
By:
Makes no difference what they were doing, you can't leave 3 kids of that age unattended, especially in an unknown environment, and be considered responsible parents, whether you're a doctor, a cleaner or whatever. Jealousy has nothing to do with it and frankly if they'd been council estate types they would have had it much worse from media etc.

It's against the law these days to leave children at home under the age of 14 with no child minder. Its 12 not 14 here are the guidelines The law doesn’t say an age when you can leave a child on their own, but it’s an offence to leave a child alone if it places them at risk. Use your judgement on how mature your child is before you decide to leave them alone. The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) says: children under 12 are rarely mature enough to be left alone for a long period of time children under 16 shouldn’t be left alone overnight babies, toddlers and very young children should never be left alone |
By:
You can though, people do it all the time :-) I was left alone every night of my childhood. That's why the police haven't attempted to charge them. They're not mental!

Under 3 years old in a foreign country?

There's been any number of stories since of parents who've literally left their children alone to go on holiday. The only reason the McCanns have had such attention is jealousy. The only reason the Daily Express has a picture of Maddie on the front every other day is because we're all jealous? |
By:
They...don't.
By:
Yes in a foreign country!
By:
You win Clunge. It's perfectly acceptable to go for a meal and leave three infant kids unattended, especially if you don't get drunk.
By:
Ok, we obviously just disagree, can't see how you can leave a child that young alone like that.
Just been reading about it and apparently the window was able to be opened from outside! Not exactly a secure design. And the friend who went to check on them at half 9 left without even having seen her! What did he think his job was? |
By:
agree
and I have to agree with maleuki01 clunge is indeed mad |
By:
The friend who went to check on them at half 9 was probably just jealous.
By:
:-)
Here's hoping they find her alive. |
By:
not saying what they did was right but, from memory of the case, the apartment was at least partially visible from the restaurant they were dining in (which was within the complex), and there were regular checks on the kids (even if they weren't effective).
This wasn't a case of the parents going out on the lash. Personally I would never do it as I would never be able to relax thinking one of them might wake up. |
By:
I agree on that clunge
By:
not enough easy...as I am afraid it proved
someone had to be with them...they were too young to be left alone... and Doctors of all people should have known this!!!what they were doing while absent makes absolutely no difference |
By:
glad to see you would not do it yourself easy
another thing, with being doctors, they may have medicated them not to wake up this means anyone getting into the room can take a sleeping child easily another a possibility, which at the moment I don't believe, is they overdid the medication Madeleine could have rolled over suffocated herself |
By:
ebul i don't disagree but, a sign of the times I think.
What they did probably wasn't that unusual at the time - obviously not many would do it now. |

its like groundhog day
