Ladies, let me tell you a little secret if you ever want to look like a sex GOD. You first of all, before trying any fade dieting, to ever see the real effects, if any at all, you MUST clean out your liver. With all the crap you have eaten, the liver acting as the engine filter must be cleaned. This can take a gruelling 2-3 weeks and is the toughest part of the lot. Its also the least talked about as diet companies and all the other scammers want you to go on these diets etc knowing full well you will be back to square one soon.
If you try this, its not going to be the best 2-3 weeks of you life but the rewards are great. Basically a master detox and then try you alternate day eating when your body is cleansed. Google, raw food diet, stick to it for 2 weeks, plan well ahead so you have options to eat and are not then tempted to break it. After a week, you will notice so much difference within you and coming out of you! You will have incredible energy. This involves no cooked foods or any meat fish, grains etc. Then aim for a 10 day detox (google master cleanse) Of course this is EXTREMELY difficult so maybe aim for 2-3 days and break it with something to eat, although light bites and no meats. Again plan ahead and buy in what is needed so you are not tempted to break with the excuse of not having the ingredients. If you can complete this, dont rush back into eating big meals quickly for obvious reasons as you could do damage to your system after breaking away from foods for quite a long time. Now, once again this is not easy but if you can stick it out and then try your diet, mixed in with 3 if able to 4, 20 minute good intense workouts every week you CAN get into the best shape of your life, shape you never thought possible. Not hours of endless excercise's or hours on a treadmill, SHORT INTENSE TARGETED routines. In 3-4 months you WILL NOT KNOW YOURSELF. I ususally charge for this exclusive info but I felt sorry reading some of your middle aged depressing tales. |

google master cleanse
I'm not a lady but I googled it anyway. Hope that's ok. This is what it says: > Master Cleanse is a modified juice fast that permits no food, substituting tea and lemonade made with maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Proponents claim that the diet detoxifies the body and removes excess fat. There is no scientific evidence that the diet removes any toxins, or that it achieves anything beyond temporary weight loss. Though unlikely to be harmful over the short term it can be harmful over the long term. Short term side effects include fatigue, nausea, dizziness, and dehydration, while long term harm includes loss of muscle mass. Over to you. |

ok lets post some fasting meals at 600 cals per meal
|

By:
Into my third week of doing this now. I've been doing a 4:3 so fasting Mon/Wed/Fri each week.
Not lost that much, only about 5 pounds in that time (and most of that was in the first week), but am going to give it a 5 week test. I have three roughly equal meals of around 150-220 calories each time and allow 50 for the milk in tea to make up the 600. Tonight had a nice mushroom and onion omelette at 160 calories. Usually have porridge (made with water) and a spoon of jam for breakfast and a bit of grilled chicken and salad for lunch. I've been a bit anal and bought a set of electronic scales off ebay that measure down to 0.1g so everything I prepare gets weighed and the calories multiplied up. |

momm,
Of course that is ok sir. Anthelme Brillat-Savarin's phrase "Dis-moi ce que tu manges, je te dirai ce que tu es" "Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are." is a motto that stands the test of time. Food is one of the most important areas of a humans life yet so little is actually taught in school about this area. A disturbing thought when you consider the rising rates of obesity and illnesses/deaths related to the abuse of foods. However, a more sinister way of looking at this neglect by governments around the world is the money making machines known as pharmaceutical companies and thus the power they hold. However, that is off topic and we could go on all night. You are right to question me, I trust myself first and foremost. However, if you question me, do you in turn not question who wrote that? Today we eat more and more junk food and are willing to stick food in our mouth without question. Look, there's a burger, it can keep for 3 months without going of and I can microwave it in seconds and its ready. Today foods are littered with chemicals, additives, and preservatives to name a few. Many of which have names when reading can often be hard to pronounce, far from the natural fresh food are bodies are designed for. "We are what we eat". I am in the believers 100% down the line all these chemicals and treatments are food suffer before we eat it is directly linked to the problems that the population now suffer. How can anyone be so sure they cause no long term effects? Now, these chemicals etc are in almost everything and it is very difficult for us to avoid them but I decided to make that choice. I eat organic and I do not think of the extra expense in doing so as I see this as a lifestyle choice. Your health is your wealth another motto I shall use. I to, like the masses ate without thinking, on the go, that looks nice, down the hatchet. Then I seen the light. Short term side effects include fatigue, nausea, dizziness, and dehydration, while long term harm includes loss of muscle mass. I did say this was not easy, it is tough to break the emotional link we have ingrained in our heads with food. You will suffer all of those things as you free yourself of all things you ate previously. All of the things your body has become addicted to will crave their fill but you must resist for the greater rewards. Proponents claim that the diet detoxifies the body and removes excess fat. There is no scientific evidence that the diet removes any toxins, or that it achieves anything beyond temporary weight loss. Of course it will be temporary if the person who tries it then goes back to previous eating habits. However, I used it as a lifestyle choice to kickstart me. There is no scientific evidence?, would they really want to tell the population the truth? All I can say is question everything, try it yourself and if you don't cheat, your body will tell you all the answers you need to know. To me it makes perfect sense, the body is the best computer on earth and how it functions is incredible. It can do many things and one of those things is cleansing itself if allowed to do so. Good ahead, test yourself with 3 weeks, 2 weeks raw food in preparation of the master cleanse. Then as stated in my above post try your alternate diet, eating healthy and mixing in some exercise over 3 months and answer me back. |

Quick tip to be full for the night after a 600 calorie meal.
Substitute rice/potatoes etc.. with vegetables. I use Cauliflower rice as a starch. Takes on the flavour of anything. |
|

^What a great tip, thanks. I really like cauliflower but have never heard of cauliflower rice before. I do eat far too much potato and this looks an interesting substitute, low carb/high fibre - just right for me. Quite versatile too. I've gone back over the Coop and bought a couple and will experiment this weekend. If it works out right it might end up a permanent feature with less reliance on pots and rice.

one thing i did notice was i slept really well over the past few days.
probably from fatigue :) i agree with some of the posts above , i dislike convenience food but its so damn convenient! earlier in the year i cut all that junk out to a certain extent and it became weird walking into a store and seeing all the bright colors at the checkout, so hard to resist the constant barrage of information telling us to consume! but i did and i felt the better for it. however after a busy summer and a few holidays i fell back into old ways. this brings me onto this method of consuming food. i like the concept of it , cutting calories is obviously going to aid in weight loss but i am drawn by the idea of less food giving the digestive system a chill out. anyways , blithering on. i decided on soup for so called fast days , made a tasty batch of veg soup last night , thats low in calories , even with the cream ;) also thinking that i wont have meat on these days as it would tie in with giving the digestive system time to rest , i presume meat is harder to breakdown that vegetables etc. anyways , determined to give this a decent shot and its encouraging to read the posts on here. will update in a few days, after the weekend. |

Day 38 for me and I've lost another 2lbs bringing my total to 1 stone 6lbs. Starting weight was 17 stone 9lbs and considering I'm 5ft 9in it made for a big belly.Everyone is noticing now and I'm feeling so much better and have had to get smaller jeans. Doctor reckons I've lost 2 stone to my highest weight.
Managed to save almost a months of diabetic tablets through not having to take them on fast days as my levels remain perfect on those days.Like twizzle I look forward to fast days as they are really easy now. Another thing I hadn't really noticed is the fact I'm not eating any processed food at all now which is pleasing. Well done to everyone doing some form of this and good luck. |

Well done bigmo... thats a tremendous weight loss..just as an aside reading Michael Mosely's twitter account it appears he has lost enough weight now and is far less stringent with his fasting then he was at the start.

no they are decent salter ones :(
its the drinking does it, then eating crap from the take out late at night. on a fast day today so hopefully more positive results next week |

I'm fasting 2 days (600 cals) and then eating and drinking normally the other 5. That means drinking a bottle of wine and a few cans most nights. Also eat big meals, crisps, chocolate etc throughout the day.
After two weeks I haven't lost any weight or gained any weight - it's been static. The up side of this is that without the fasting days my weight would have undoubtedly increased. It has been increasing slowly for months. So I've stopped the rot. Just need to ease off on the cals on my 5 'eating days' to tip the balance and start reducing weight. |
|
By:
Been fasting 2/5 for the last 10 days or so. Fast days have involved nothing till tea time then a relatively healthy evening meal (fish & veg/pasta & chopped tomatoes)
Quite enjoyed it so far and while weight loss isn't the real aim (down from 90kg to 88kg) it's nice to see progress. I'll keep it going and I'm finding I'm being more healthy now in between. I watched the doc and read up in between and a lot of it rings true. I'm planning to keep going for a good while yet. |

If you can cut down a little on your normal days stevie_p I'm sure you'll find the weight start to come off.Good luck.

Brilliant thread! Makes for great reading
![]() My biggest enemy is sugar, bloody addicted to the stuff. If I fast, Im worried the sugar craving might kick in even more and have me running to the shops for sweet snacks. Always have sweet food(choccy bars, biscuits etc) in the cupboard, any idea what I can replace them with when the discipline is low? Cheers guys |

Monday has been my fast day this week.
Breakfast some black coffee and a banana Lunch - miso soup Dinner - small portion of pasta with a tin of sardines in tomato sauce. I'm 6'3" and since I've started I've dropped 4lbs to 15st. Weight loss wasn't really my goal, but I've decided this week to make my target 14st 7lbs after finding out that this was my ideal weight for height and age. Feeling much much better with more energy which was the primary aim! ![]() |

Tried the raw food diet posted previous. Tough to keep motivated but agree that there does seem to be some benefit to energy levels. General groggy feeling first thing in the morning is not there.
Quite boring unless you take the time to make some of the fancy recipes I guess. I have been living of tomato, red onions, sweetcorn, mixed with beetroot for dinner. One thing I did try and would recommend anyone to try for a filling, low cal breakfast is porridge oats with almond milk. Pour the almond milk over the oats the night before and set in the fridge. I add blueberries or raspberries and it actually nice. I miss meat and eggs the most and am going to break it today, had enough tbh. Will give it a go again but will try and prepare properly, with a variety instead of boring myself |

are you a bird chicken dinner?

Week five finished and i stayed at 12 stone but thats hardly surprising as i had a massive pig out at the weekend..the misses has lost a further 2 lb making a total of 10 lb in all and she's thrilled. To any newcomers i urge you to try this regime, not only do you lose the weight it gives you a great feeling of self control and well being.

Nice one twizzle and tell the misses well done from me she's doing really well. Day 45 for me and I had it in my head this would be the week that I hit a no loss. Shouldn't have worried as I lost 5lbs and brings my total loss to 1 stone 11 lbs. Can't remember the last time I was 15st 12lbs.Another nice thing is my son bought me a T shirt a couple of years ago which I couldn't wear as it's a medium and got forgotten about.Got into it this week.
Slight downer, been taking a photo each week and put on a top with horizontal stripes for the pic. Makes me look a right fat bstard. I wont make that mistake again. Good luck everyone on this. |

well done little mo
keep it up amazing weight loss |

I love this 5/2 regime.
I find the 2 days of fasting (600 cals) easy now. Enjoy my other days of feasting. Weight has remained pretty stable. If I hadn't been on the 5/2 it have definately increased. Quite prepared to do this long term as there is no calorie counting on the feast days. |
