I've been easing myself into this regime very gently.

I think I've just about got the eat-as-much-as-you-like days sorted to perfection.
I'll have to try the fasting lark next.

Well the fasting lark is nice, not much meat on it obviously.

Actually, I really do want to give this a go but I've been procrastinating because there always seems to be something in the fridge which won't keep another day and needs using up, and I hate wasting food. I need to start planning things a bit better.

I don't anticipate any problem whatsoever with the fasting days while it's still so hot, as I'm not eating much anyway. I think Jan/Feb/Mar could be quite a problem though when it'll be very cold. Just have to have a cauldron of home-made vegetable soup on the go all day I suppose.

I hate wasting food

eating it is worse than throwing it away though.... either way its gone forever, but at least you'll be healthier by chucking it in the bin, plus, by throwing it in the bin and 'wasting it', you might think twice about buying too much next time you are in the supermarket.
Do you think some starving african child will be offended if you throw it in the bin rather than eating it?  FFS, stop namby pambying around and do it.... wasting it FFS, old fashioned mind set

YOU DONT HAVE TO CLEAR YOU PLATE, its ok..

That's quite a lecture Laugh Who died and left you in charge?

Mind you, it's riddled with erroneous assertions and assumptions which you got from god knows where.
It really needs the Cristo treatment but sadly I don't have time.

If it's ok with you Ample, I'll lead my life the way I choose. As I said, I just need to plan better. Which I will. And that plan will not include throwing money in the bin needlessly.

I'm the same, loathe to pay for something and not eat it!

I'm thinking of starting my 'eternal soup' or pottage or whatever you call it early this year as something to make fast days a bit more interesting.

I started eating healthy this year. I don't carry any weight, 6 foot, 76 kg, with a goal to beef up a bit but not to bulky. Stopped smoking as I have got back into football properly since college has ended and just want to get into top shape.

I watched this show, it was on about a month or so ago and it was quite interesting. I have found the whole food area interesting and I don't think there is any coincidence between all these diseases we seem to be suffering at incredible rates to the shi t they now put in food and all the processed food eaten daily by the population. Cut that crap out as much as possible and you're on the right road imo. I eat real butter, drink full fat milk etc . Lots of ads and shows tell you to eat the low fat etc. its better for you, I disagree with that. Any diet things, low fat crap etc is a no go for me. Drink 3 litres of water per day etc. I stopped using microwave food also.

Basically I eat fresh, natural foods and let fate decide the rest

Nothing  until midday then a bowl of freshly made vegetable soup with one small slice of dry toast...apple mid afternoon and chicken, mushroom and spring onion soup using bouillon  stock...copious amounts of water, black coffee and thats it.Never felt better and have now lost 8lbs in three weeks and that includes a four day break in Bournemouth last week where i ate at drank loads...The misses has lost 7lbs and is delighted. I have found the fasting is getting much easier to do , cannot recommend this regime high enough.

My neighbour took up this diet and combined it with running 10 miles a day

I was down in London on the 30th day, but phoned him to see how he was doing

'How much do you weigh now?'

'I've lost 24 pounds.' he said

'Good for you. Are you enjoying running in the sunshine?'

'Sunshine? It's facking pissing down in Paris.'

Been doing this for about a month now.Mondays and Thursdays.Usually two whey protein shakes, lunchtime and early evening, one slice of buttered wholemeal toast for breakfast. If peckish inbetween I have a cup of Bovril.Lost about 3lbs but weightloss is not the reason I'm doing this,my general all round health feels much better so I shall stick with it.

Thanks to all those posting what they are eating on fast days as it's giving me ideas for when I ease off from eating nothing on my fast days.
Will be quite a while yet though as I've still a fair bit to lose.GL as well everyone.

Right. My fridge is empty. I start tomorrow.

I'm not bothered about losing weight at the moment as I don't need to. It's the HGV 1 or whatever it's called that I'm interested in lowering. But how do you measure it? How do you know if it's working?

I started this regime last week having read this thread and discovered a couple of friends are doing it. Firstly need to lose some weight and ongoing would be nice to feel healthier. Fasted Tuesday and Thursday (just one meal in the evening and water/black coffee) and also cut out all 'comfort food' on the other days.

According to my scales I have lost 6lb already. I expect it to get a lot harder this week.

I started this a week ago after reading this thread. Need to lose a few pounds around the middle, nothing drastic, maybe half a stone.

Anyway, had 2 fasting days during the week (600 cal job), but pigged out at the weekend.

After much anticipation, I had the weigh-in yesterday.

Result? F**k*** weight gain of half a pound!

-----------------------

I'm keeping the faith for another week (and will try not to pig out so much at the weekend).

well lasted about 36 hours with no food and only water.
it was bloody difficult but i reckon i could of done the 72 hours detox only for missing the dopey bus earlier and being so fed up and weak i succumbed to a burrito.
anyways will skip my detox of 3 days and try this 5/2 method.
so thursday will be another fast day followed by monday , will post results next week.
