Where is Moses' writings?
By:
What museum? I'd like to see his book in his own writing.
By:
moses didnt write anything he was a messenger
By:
sorry but this just isnt true. please, again, give an example
Oh he was a messenger. Who wrote his story down? I'd like to see the original version. |
By:
yeah this is called the torah, basically the first five books of the bible, written by moses and translated by the priesthood who i believe were lead by aaron, moses' son.
By:
So Moses didn't write his story, someone else did?
By:
and im told to truely understand it as it was intended you need to speak hebrew as some important words dont translate
By:
So the bible we read today is not the true word for word of Moses? Its only an approximation?
By:
where exactly have i said that? moses wrote it, in hebrew.
By:
exactly! and thats why people like you take it completely out of context or just say its b0ll0cks. i never understood most of what was in the bible until i studied it at 16 with a very clever christian who was able to explain what was lost in mistranslation and what was actually intended.
By:
What I'm trying to show you is that it was written, then translated then translated then translated but many Christian's believe it word for word. I've no doubt there may be some tenuous links to true stories but that is all. It is the word of men.
Also don't you think its very strange apart from one or two times that god reveals himself to individuals? You believe the word of 2 and 3,000 year old men yet when someone says they are the son of god nowadays then they are a crackpot? |
By:
no ovalman, your not listening. christians dont believe it blindly word for word, they study the bible, hard, until they understand the message god wanted them to get. if it was easy to understand, the choice of whether to believe it or not would be easy. The reality of it all is so striking once it all clicks. You obviously dont understand it, so your not in a position to make an informed decision. if you want to learn more, i would be more than happy to find you help.
By:
the bible warns of false prophets, crackpots as you call them. revelation also says that when jesus returns, there will be no doubting, everyone on earth will know who he is.
By:
revelation btw is a fascinating book. a good read even for someone who has no previous interest in christianity.
By:
hard to understand
By:
Well considering I have seen no proof of a god or gods and I don't see any meaning in a book written by men, I don't see the point asking for any further help. Besides you christian's could be reading the wrong book and you'll all go to hell anyway.
By:
lol im no christian but thats another story
By:
and youve seen no proof because you dont know where to look for it. ive seen proof!
By:
Good idea Fk, no point studying and devoting all your life to jesus when you can convert just before the train hits you - you'll still get to sit at the top table.
By:
you're also contradicting yourself now. youve just said theres no meaning a book you desceibed as "literary genious" earlier on this page. i suspect your probably scared of what you might believe if you look into it, dont be embarrassed about it its a common thing. ignorance is bliss. bump the thread if you ever change your mind.
By:
me and god have some serious talking to do at the pearly gates. if he tells me what i need to hear then i'll convert.
By:
Its a good book of stories but nothing else. Times have moved on.
By:
theres more to the stories than you realise. like i say if you ever want to know the real stories, bump the thread :)
By:
I'd have called myself an Agnostic until a few years ago, now I don't sit on the fence. Until I see the evidence* I won't change my mind.
*2,000 year old hearsay and twisted stories doesn't count. |
By:
just call u thomas then
By:
thats so daft, thats like saying if i dont watch sky sports then football doesnt exist!
By:
youre putting God in the dock, ovalman, as far as he's concerned, hes revealed himself, through prophets and ultimately, through his own son, when u read the story of jesus' life through, whilst also connecting his claims and teachings to parts of the OT then it does become clear, but u also need faith, its no good just relying on reason alone, it doesnt work that way.We please God by showing faith, jesus himself reiterates the need to believe in him time and time again.
None of the other 'religions' make the same claims, and especially with regard to mans need of a saviour so that the way open to God has been revealed. |
By:
this doesn't mean, however, I dont have difficulties regarding certain aspects of the bible, ie answering prayer, children suffering, the concept of hell. its no good tho asking too many questions, as we just won't find answers this side of eternity.
For my own part i refuse to believe that this 70 years lifespan is all there is, if it was, everything about life would be futile, and there would be no point to living, and i think that human beings need a point, and they need to feel loved. God is the ultimate source of love if u look hard enough. |

Jesus is brilliant, the same ant be said for some of those who claim to follow him.
By:
There is no proof that a single person called Jesus actually existed, some say he is an accumulation of various factors that did exist ( fighting for freedom against the Romans, reforming Judaism etc) he was also made up of elements of much older religions.
Here in Britain we have the tale of Robin Hood. He is said to have robbed the rich, lived in Sherwood Forest and fought against the very unpopular prince John. Now Robin Hood never existed as a single person but rather he was made up by what was happening at the time. Some people robbed the rich, some gave money to the poor, others that had been away fighting followers of another mythical person i, e one Mohammed. And there was general hostility throughout the land to the stewardship of Prince John. But none where a single person. On the subject of Jesus claiming to be the son of God and what is meant by this, it really all depends on which Bible you are reading and from what time period, but more importantly your own interpretation. The Bible like the Koran and other religious text from the Middle East has been rewritten several times. A lot of the most divisive elements of the both the Bible and the Koran were written hundreds of years after the fact, extra inserts and twisted interpretations of much older text have been added. |

Jesus = The sun of God.
For thousands of years people have adored the sun. The Bible is a astrological/literal hybrid. The story is up there. The Sun would bring vision, warmth, crops would grow. The Sun was everything. The Cross of the Zodiac, it reflects the the sun as it passes through 12 major constellations. 12 months - 4 seasons. The Virgin Mary is the constellation Virgo, also known as Virgo the Virgin. Virgo in Latin means virgin. Virgo is also referred to as the House of Bread. The Ram - Moses The 12 Apostles The 12 Tribes of Israel The 12 Judges of Israel The 12 Great Patriarchs The 12 (O.T.) Prophets The 12 Kings of Israel The 12 Princes of Israel All in the Bible. They gave characters whilst tracking the sun. The story has been told my other civilisations and past down. Oh almost forgot the Winter Solstice where the sun appears almost stationary for 3 days before kicking into life again. It`s a great story. ![]() 3 days of the Winter |
By:
The Sun also rises in the east, many earlier religions prayed facing the east including early Christians.
By:
In old occult Christian art the head of Jesus was placed on the cross of the Zodiac.
The cross before was a Pagan symbol, the Christians took the symbol and replaced the sun on the cross which the head of Jesus(body was also included). |

The day of the return of Jesus is fast approaching and as mentioned previously you`ll
all be in no doubt. He will lead us out of the wilderness. |

Why would he bother coming back Shane?
Seeing as how his dad is all powerful and omnipresent he could tell us personally in unmistakable terms what he wants of us and since he "knows our thoughts" he could double check to make sure that the message was fully understood. Seems strange that he should have left such a garbled message in the safe-keeping of desert nomads thousands of years ago. |
