LORD, Lunatic or Liar.

You decide.

Please don't call him a good man. Good men don't claim to be divine.

And he DID walk the earth, so he did exist.

I don't know and I haven't ruled a god out but there's a distinct lack of evidence to a god. Christianity is an even more tenuous link, if there is a god he's a very benign god.

if the old testament was written well before the new, and in my humble opinion it was, (research yourself) you have to conclude that isaiah 53 and psalm 22 were rather close to the mark when describing a coming servant, or saviour, specially as crucifixion hadnt been invented at that time as far as im aware.

I didn't see the link, put it up again.

The Old Testament is a collection of stories and fables passed down the generations, mostly orally. Like all translations of the bible they have changed through the ages into something that is astounding - didn't you play chinese whispers at school?

tbh the more you research christianity the more believable it becomes. most people who slate it know very little about it
By:

how is the old testament a collection of fables? the bible is generally recognised as the most historically accurate document in the world

What about the parts of the new testament that were left out?

The more I read into the bible the more I take it with a pinch of salt.

What's wrong with the koran or all the other bibles? Maybe your studying the wrong version?

Copernicus believed the Earth went round the Sun and went to hell for his views.

cant remember why did i say something blatantly anti religious. look i got forced into going to church by my parents till i was a teenager so i know all the stories but i struggle to believe in life after death. i totally understand why people devote their life to it though. religion gives gives people security.

and yes i know the story of the mormons and although they have an interesting take on jesus as do the muslims, they also talk a lot of b0ll0cks which kinda makes me not want to listen to them. please fell free to list examples of fables from the old testament and missing parts of the new testament though. although i might not be able to answer all questions i will be able to find someone who can

there is evidence of intelligent design - which I think would fulfil the criteria to be called "God"

The historical accuracy of the Scriptures is likewise in a class by itself, far superior to the written records of Egypt, Assyria, and other early nations. Archeological confirmations of the Biblical record have been almost innumerable in the last century. Dr. Nelson Glueck, probably the greatest modern authority on Israeli archeology, has said:

"No archeological discovery has ever controverted a Biblical reference. Scores of archeological findings have been made which confirm in clear outline or in exact detail historical statements in the Bible. And, by the same token, proper evaluation of Biblical descriptions has often led to amazing discoveries."

Scientific Accuracy

Another striking evidence of divine inspiration is found in the fact that many of the principles of modern science were recorded as facts of nature in the Bible long before scientist confirmed them experimentally. A sampling of these would include:

Roundness of the earth (Isaiah 40:22)

Almost infinite extent of the sidereal universe (Isaiah 55:9)

Law of conservation of mass and energy (II Peter 3:7)

Hydrologic cycle (Ecclesiastes 1:7)

Vast number of stars (Jeremiah 33:22)

Law of increasing entropy (Psalm 102:25-27)

Paramount importance of blood in life processes (Leviticus 17:11)

Atmospheric circulation (Ecclesiastes 1:6)

Gravitational field (Job 26:7)

and many others.
These are not stated in the technical jargon of modern science, of course, but in terms of the basic world of man's everyday experience; nevertheless, they are completely in accord with the most modern scientific facts.

It is significant also that no real mistake has ever been demonstrated in the Bible

If you ask intelligent design then you must also ask who created the creator?

All things in nature can be answered scientifically. Some questions we don't know the answer but we're getting there.

Tony I haven't squared the circle with religionists because the can't answer my questions. I've listened to religions views on science and its always the same answer "Because god made it".

Why is there a rainbow? "Because god made it." Good answer.

well, christians say god has always been there. take that however you like but if time began when the universe began, at the big bang and god was there before this event, then how can you quantify the age of god? also christians say there are some thing we are not supposed to know or unserstand, otherwise we would BE god. although personally i think this is just bullsh!t spouted to stop people asking questions!
