quite possible altior will line up here or ryanaire  rather than the gold cup imo and have taken  around 16 ish  ryanaire on here . back to the champion and 2 i ilke at decent prices are cilaos emery and le richborge at around 20s  . le rich was long time fav for the arkle   before a setback ruled him out had decent form and if back to his best the 20s could offer  value .
cilaos emery lightly raced mullins inmate won on his debut but missed rest of season a very good hurdler who runs tommorow at naas could also be worth a few quid .
le richbourg 20s and cilaos emery 20s .........1 point win on each .......opinions welcome .

Lot going for cilaos emery grade one winner over hurdles at punchestown comfortably beat the arkle winner at Gowran on his only start over fences very lightly raced sound run on his only visit to the festival 5th in supreme novice hurdle ,oh and is with a yard who have the odd Cheltenham winner.

I remember his debut over hurdles at Navan a 24 runner maiden he blew them away.

yes foxy i only did a brief write up as i find it encourages more debate and input but yes he has a very  decent profile .also le richbourg won that good arkle trial last winter ,we are guessing as to if they are back to thier best but both in good hands .

Hendo said Altior will go back to 2 miles if the 3m thing don’t work out.

okay budd i read it that "he needs another half mile in which case is the king george where we want to go  " was hendos take on it .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqANfXgk3IE - Hendo talking about Altior

Got it a bit wrong Foyles.
He actually says if he don't stay 2 and a half then they would revert back to 2m.
If he stays the trip well at Ascot, and then does not in the King George, then I guess its Ryanair or QM,and personally I just cannot see Altior in a Ryanair.
Fascinating stuff though.

yeah budd the cc is more likely but if as i suspect he dont stay 3m then they may think the ryanaire more suitable as he wernt as dominant in this years cc ,who knows ? plenty of ifs and buts ,only had a f3ew quid on so not much damage if not turning up .

Fair comments Foyles, and they have said they think he needs to step up, so maybe he will end up over further at the festival, you never know mate.

looks a lovely prospect this emery horse if they can keep the wheels on him, i think he'll run here if they can get the experience into him, whatever happens he is a nice tool. with how he is i couldn't bet ante post myself but you have a nice voucher if he gets there

happy with that today lightly raced and progressive ! did what was expected going by the betting  but a nice run out , always a risk with these fragile types not hard to think  a lot more to come if keeping sound .
By:

the 2 i have put up are risky with their history so had a closer look and a lot of these   probably  wont line up ,altior ,min, defi du seul ,cyrname possibly be lining up in other races ,altior could line up if not staying further but its not ideal training for staying trips and then dropping back to 2m, chacan looks a fragile type also ,cyrname better right handed . this should cut up and one who looks rock solid jumps well has the form in the book is with the right connections  and  rated 166 is this years 2nd politilogue and is 25s with billys  which i took this evening . ran a stormer this year only touched off by altior and this is likely to be the target . rather diluting having 3 but they are big prices  and rather have 3 big uns than a few short uns and you dont need much on at the prices  .
added ...politilogue 25/1 hills .good luck .

well harry in this years cc altior didnt have a lot to spare at the line and stamina and class won the day in the end but he had to dig deep ,i think 2o f will be fine but 3 miles i have serious doubts .

I am surprised that Ballyoisin is not even listed in the Antepost for the Champion Chase.. He is rated 170 after yesterday and on soft or heavy he will surely be in the first three?
By:
sageform
When: 11 Nov 19 20:51
If he stays, Altior will beat Santini by 50 lengths in a Gold Cup.

I thought cilaos emery did the job well but in receiving 11lb from ornua he was entitled to win as he did ,I should think he will improve plenty and his next run probably in a stronger race will give us more idea of what he can achieve all in all it’s very hard to knock his two runs so far over fences.

thats a big IF sageform ,the staying the gold cup trip for altior i mean .

I agree with the first comment by sageform regarding ballyoisin but don’t think for one minute he needs soft or heavy to run well in the champion chase.

Whether it being dropping back in trip for this or going up in trip for the KG I'd still very much be a fan of Footpad. 25's and 33's respectively looks generous to me. Last season was a complete write off, at those prices he is worth another chance.
By:

When: 12 Nov 19 16:22
And the 20's for the Ryanair, I'll probably back him for all 3 at those prices before he runs, he's entered up which is encouraging.

Not in the market on here and doesn't seem to have it on oddschecker, I've just stuck him in for the Ryanair in what I call my "Heart and First impression" acca along with Pentland, Black Op (rsa), Andy Dufresne (neptune) and Presenting Percy.Tongue Out

defi du seul around 9/1 on here after sundays race ,decent performance but imo further would suit better the 2nds run wasnt bad giving the winner 3 pound and nicholls  seem to be needing the run 1st time up .still some value around the 20 plus mark imo giving the champ chase looks  the target .

That was impressive from Footpad today, you wouldn't know where you could go with him, you wouldn't rule out the KG, I've backed him for the Ryanair, but You couldn't rule out the CC itself, he got bags of toe, all class is Footpad.

Altior now favourite for the CC. A bit premature I would think.

agreed Sage. I am NOT saying the horse is on the decline but he has had a lot of hard races over the last few seasons due to his habit of only getting into top gear towards the end of (admittedly) top class races over 2m. Sooner or later it catches up with a horse. He will be a 10yo come Cheltenham and has had 3 or 4 seasons running in G1's. I love the horse (with little or no financial interest in him on most occasions) but it is tough maintaining speed as one gets older. My guess is that he won't be top class over 3m 2f and NH may have to, reluctantly, come to the conclusion that the Ryanair is the race for him at Cheltenham. Much will depend on the Mullins horse who demolished the field at Punchestown imho. He could...could....blow fields apart over 2m in the style of Master Minded. Certainly the CC and the Ryanair are fraught with difficulties for AP punters and I shan't be playing for a good while.
