5-1? He'd have been that price to win the novice and I wouldn't have wanted it. Surely he'll be 14s or 16s and even that looks a terrible bet to me.

Well he is 10/1 now and I imagine he will only shorten
An incredibly simplistic arguement is he has raced the winner at Cheltenham once, beat him and there's no evidence to show Yanworths jumping is so spectacular that form wouldn't hold up That's an "I'm not saying, I'm just saying" moment though |

Fragile horse with obvious training issues inexperienced over hurdles and his form over hurdles still leaves him plenty to find. Both his hurdles wins where hard fought victorys .Layers/books awash with cash and very few will have it in the book. If Vroum vROUM stands her ground no way will he(Moon Racer) shorten due to the ruby/mullins factor and plunge for the mare. |

since Moon Racer's last run he will need to have improved about 2 stone just to get placed. I know he beat Ballyandy, but Ballyandy has improved a lot since then, can an 8 year old improve that much in such a short space of time? I doubt it, one of the worst 10/1 shots I've ever seen

What's everyone's hunch on the participation of vvm here?
Limini was recently in last few hours laid to 10 in the mares with vvm backed into 3.4! Vvm price on here has never moved. Money at 21-25 merely cancelled! All of the above means nothing however with this outfit and we saw moon racer laid to 25 for this and shorten for supreme before published it was running here! My hunch is still vvm here. Ruby will surely want a ride in the race with half a chance? Although they do want to win as many races as possible at the fez I can't help thinking they will split them up even still. |

retained rider might pick Sceau Royal as he did in the Triumph last year when Ruby rode Footpad.
I don't think Munir and Suede would be overly upset with that scenario. |

Yeah that`s possible the drier it gets you can see that happening for sure.... I have him down as a 14/1 shot not 33/1 if the rain stays away tomorrow

agreed easy Footpad well overpriced.
Imo the bottom 1/2 of the market are all overpriced . Dont think ive ever thought that about a championship race before. |

Nicky Henderson will walk the course at Cheltenham on Sunday morning to get a feel for himself of how going conditions are shaping up for the Festival, which gets underway 48 hours later.
The trainer has a host of major contenders for the meeting, including three leading contenders for the Stan James Champion Hurdle, but speaking at the post-racing Cheltenham Festival preview at Sandown on Saturday evening, Henderson said he felt ‘the pendulum might be swinging’ against the horse that is the shortest-priced of the trio, recent Sandown scorer Buveur D’Air. The man who has sent out more Cheltenham Festival winners than any other trainer said: “I’m going to have a look at the ground in the morning and see which way it’s going. “The important thing for our trio in the Champion Hurdle is going to be the ground. Between our lot, he is the one guy who really loves soft ground. The pendulum sounds like it’s swinging towards the other two. It’s not like he can’t go on good ground, he’s just so effective on soft ground. I’m very happy where he is. “On soft ground, I see Buveur D’Air doing best. On good ground, Brain Power might just have the edge.” |

Mullins must've thought she wouldn't win the CH or maybe more significantly that Footpad or Wicklow Brave will. I'm thinking Wicklow, improved on the flat last year and could well be hurdling well at home.
I'm not sure Footpad is a Cheltenham horse? His 7l 3rd behind Ivanovich Gorbatov in the Triumph last year was hardly spectacular. |

well vroum vroum out and moon racer in... adding some nice spice to the race, it really is brutal and 10/1 moon racer is tight even though i think he has a chance, he should be nearer to 14/1
i have to say... you can't tell me mullins didn't know vroum vroum was going to go to the other race it really is quite sickening for punters and it comes all the way down to declaration day...it's just poor sport from all these trainers with multiple entries you have to find out by looking at a betting market on here to find out, when they know damn well where they are going... anyway this is the reason i refuse to tie money up through the season just to get a price, it just doesn't add up...i will say i tip my hat to david pipe who has said all along moon racer may run in the champion and it is then up to the punter if he still feels the need to bet |

So Mullins/Ricci loads up for the mares race with two, taking the safe option yet again. He must be concerned that Limini isn't good enough otherwise what is the point sending VVM for a minor race.

to me the form book tells you the Mares Hurdle is the right race for both of them.

I don't fancy Footpad here at Cheltenham but you have to say that VVM's and Limini's (the other week) defection to the Mares is big pointer that that the stable thinks either Footpad or Wicklow is good enough.
The fact that Ruby picks Footpad is a big pointer and wouldn't put anyone off backing him now. |
