Rumours about tonight Ruby will ride VVM.
By:
Heard tonight that VVM will go here and is flying at home. Make of it what you will. I am already on at 12s EW and happy with that,
By:
I posted as much above and no one picked up on it. Fact she was left in here and Mullins has says makes me think she runs here. Rw bound to ride and when confirmed will he an 11/2 6/1 shot
By:
That might possibly be even more stupid than when Limini was 5/1.

The WPM circus rolls on!!!
By:
What price would you put her into wellchief?
By:
4-1 by tapes up lol
By:
Shouldn't be shorter than The New One, so 12-14/1.
Beaten by Apples Jade over 20f, then wins over 3m then scrapes home against a 140 mare. Then she "had a cold" and was put on antibiotics straight away. Again, reputation and connections dictating price. |

Again, reputation and connections dictating price.
This is precisely the reason why i put her in at 6s. When there is such a big disparity in opinion as to what price a horse should be in a race i think the bookies generally put her in around the middle so i will guess when confirmed for this race they might go 8s with one or two maybe 9s but soon as RW says he riding her she'll be 6s or 7s. Whether she drifts on the day or gets backed i don't know but i'm fairly confident thats what will likely happen. Of course your right though as in connections but they were quick (ish) to disclose that VVM wasn't right after donny. Was there anything said when beaten by AJ or was that just put down to lack of fitness? Not sure |
By:
Duffy - don't think PM will be allowed to dictate up front, MTOY will be up there harassing him & set a searching gallop IMO, he's one of the strongest travelling horses in a race I've seen, whether age will catch up with him come 2 out & something gets past him then so be it but hopefully looking forward to a good run for money e/w, as ppl have mentioned he's finished 2nd twice before in this - still can't believe the performance he put in last year after 2 years off the track!

Tent at his best would win this, but how near to his best is he these days?
Taken big odds on here some time ago,but I don't think I would take current price to find out. |
By:
why would he win this
By:
Because I think the performance when 2nd to Jezki would be good enough to win this one.
By:
was jezki a great champion hurdler?
I'm not convinced this MTOY horse likes winning if they had a champion hurdle at a flat track like aintree he might have won one, although you can say that about several of henderson's horses. |
By:
Well time will tell if any this year are better than Jezki was that year.
I happen to think not,but I may be a tad unfair on this years race. I think Tent tried as hard as he could to win that race, just beaten by a better one on the day, but I have read/heard comments that agree with you re MTOY. |
By:
Mtoy has zero chance in this. His prime days are over.
And at his current price makes a value lay. |

1st the Limini red herring, and now VVM who had a cold just recently and is not exactly scintillating in her work. This is the 2nd most prestigious race after the Gold Cup, and to run the mare who is many pounds below Championship and main protagonists level after an interrupted prep is bonkers, in my opinion, unless of course connections are merely horsey sabre rattling, again.
I'd be surprised if VVM runs here or any other race at the Festival unless it is the Mares Hurdle (Limini 1st choice). I also think she'll be safe for Aintree and/or Punchestown. |
By:
I would have thought Limini not being supplemented for the CH is a major negative for VVM. If they were happy with VVM then surely they would be confident of her taking the Mares. Couldn't have her at all for the CH and would be surprised if Ruby rode. Still a lot can happen in 4 days i suppose

agree with 1st time be surprised if she runs

Alan King is confident Yanworth will run "extremely well" in the Stan James Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham on Tuesday.
The JP McManus-owned gelding is ante-post favourite to claim the two-mile crown having won seven of his eight starts over hurdles including victories in the Coral Hurdle at Ascot, the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton and the Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton this season. With regular partner Barry Geraghty sidelined by injury, Mark Walsh comes in for the plum ride and King was pleased with how the pair clicked during a schooling session on Thursday. "Yanworth is in good order and I'm very happy with him," said the Barbury Castle-based trainer. "Mark Walsh came over and schooled him over 12 flights of hurdles. "We've had a clear run since Wincanton, which we've not had before. I could not be more happy with him. Nice to hear some confidence. |

have you ever heard a trainer Budd that doesnt think there hoss will run well on the eve of cheltenham?

this race continues to wrangle me i just cannot find what i want, i see some on here can't have vroum vroum mag i find that hard to fathom considering her career she is a top class mare getting the allowance...it doesn't look like moon racer is going to go and i still haven't wagered and actually not sure i will...
if the price is still ok i may just have a little on the mare, i have just always liked her and when handicapping this field i don't see her with as much to find as others on here think, she will love the ground ,she certainly shouldn't be dismissed lightly as MTOY shouldn't either...anyway my record in the champion is deplorable so best of luck if you have had a decent wager, i will not be participating in this regard far better races to wager on, the fulke walwyn being one that makes plenty of appeal ![]() |

By:
Ive never known a champion so wide open usually narrow it down to a handfull. Im still in double figures with potential winners
By:
it's not open yanworth will win
By:
just a horrible betting race geoff a truly sickening betting heat in my book
By:
I admire your confidence Lewisham , im not saying he will not win but id rather lay than back @ 3s .. Will be 4s the field on the day, if Vroum Vroum and Moon Racer stand their ground
By:
That said Moon Racer looking like missing the gig out to 25s naff all wanting to back
By:
I think yanworth will be punted on the day
hendersons and the irish horse will drift, as the public will realise they're flat track bullies who won't get up the hill |
By:
That all depends on 1 person LEWISHAM cant see the general public betting it @ current odds and books will want to lay as plenty short enough with ?? marks
The in running mob will also look @ Yanworth as a lay to back i/r option. Saw his clip of ascot victory over Lil Rockefeller and if anyone said Yanworth would end up CHampion Hurdle fav they would have whisked you away in a straightjacket. |

MTOY: I'm very happy with my 50/1 ew on this horse. 2nd last year after two years out, beaten only by Annie Power who received 7lb and broke the course record. Loves the festival and any runs so far this year are just fitness prep runs for this. The only danger is VVM (if she runs)with her allowance but I don't think she's as good as Annie Power and with no rustiness this time around MTOY can finish ahead of her. Sure to be spot on and WINS.
"He is in really good shape and when he finished second in it last year we said he would win it this year. He has been the forgotten horse in the race and he wasn’t sparkling in those Christmas Hurdles and things but he did a bit of work recently and is really in good form. He wants a really fast gallop and he will love the race." Wicklow Brave: Happy enough with my 33/1 ew on this horse. Improved on the flat last year to win a Group 1. With that in mind, he has probably improved in this sphere too and that could well mean he's improved to a level beyond his 8l win in the County Hurdle in 2015. Anything faster than good to soft however is probably a negative. PLACES |
