If there was an award for Cheltenham Formulite of the year, swear blind me and Buddeliea would be 11-10 the pair, to scoop the award Plain

The form of Supreme Novices Hurdle is working out superbly, many winners behind Vautour since including 1st and 2nd today in Greatwood Hurdle. If he can jump the skys the limit imo.

There's absolutely no chance Mr Ricci will sidestep the Arkle for anyone - especially UDS. He follows the Champagne Fever route.

Wouldnt be too worried re UDS as not beaten much, and appears ground dependent why they took him to France.Wouldnt be surprised if missed Cheltenham again tbh.Jossies Hill the danger if going over fences, maybe a doubt as Henderson doesnt have many options for Champion Hurdle? maybe Vaniteux but not much else.Vautour hopefully jumps well in 1st few novice chases, and will line up in Arkle and win.

Another big boost with Three Kingdoms there who looked very useful.

Fast becoming the best Supreme ever!

Was obviously a good Supreme but Faugheen laughed at five or six of them six weeks later.

That doesn't make the form any less impressive does it? Faugheen is clearly out of the same top class drawer... just like Vautour. And a few of the Supreme field may have been past there best by Punchestown.

The pair of them will hose up on the Tuesday !

LEADING Racing Post Arkle hope and Cheltenham Festival hero Vautour could make his chasing debut at Navan on Sunday.

Vautour, winner of the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March, went unbeaten over hurdles after joining Willie Mullins last year and may make his much-anticipated switch to fences in a 2m1f beginner's chase on Sunday.

Vautour, who also won a Grade 1 at the Punchestown festival, is vying for Arkle favouritism with stablemate Un De Sceaux and is no bigger than 11-2 with Paddy Power for the two-mile contest.

Vautour also heads the betting for the JLT Novices' Chase, for which he is no bigger than 4-1.

His entry comes on Navan's flagship Ladbrokes Troytown Chase day. After Tuesday's forfeits, the handicap is topped by Paddy Power Chase and Kim Muir runner-up Cause Of Causes.

BTW, Paddy Power has an offer that if you put £20 on a horse for a race at Cheltenham, they'll give you a free £5 bet every time he wins between now and the festival.

They are top price 11/2 for the Arkle. Vautour will surely be odds on in a lot of small field races this winter, so you may well make most of your stake back in freebets.

6/1 with PP now they are out to get this beast, half decent test tomorrow.

Yes noticeable they have been top price throughout. Interesting.

Couldn't ask for a better debut over fences there. Travelled and jumped beautifully from the front, impressive.

Very. Navan widely considered the toughest track in Ireland as well.

Many will say he hasn't beaten anything, but I think Clarcam is potentially very useful. Fantastic display.

Got to laugh at Sid James' price though. 3-1 Laugh

If the top two were to come out of the QMCC whats to stop him going there instead of the Arkle as i agree, he looked mighty there!

Couldn't fault that for a debut run.

That's my major worry STS. And might be why PP have consistently been top price.
By:

Willie could have UDS for the Arkle and Vautour for the QMCC.

Had to have a saver to cover my Arkle stake at 20's for the QMCC.

Thought he was excellent there. It's either Arkle or QM I think. Don't understand why he would run in anything else looks a proper 2 mile Champ Chaser to me.

When: 23 Nov 14 16:19
Not sure WM rushes his horses. Normally sticks to novice route.

He could always send UDS to the QM?

Vautour surely has more scope and is probably seen as a Gold Cup horse next year. Cautious approach I feel this year.

Vautour has done his talking on the racecourse. UDS has a long way to go yet before he's won me over ...
By:
Can't Catch Me
When: 23 Nov 14 20:40
I have to admit the prices are worrying me a bit. Paddy are no mugs and are still 5/1... Yet 3/1 for the JLT. and how can UDS be the same price in the Arkle betting. Baffling tbh.
By:
sintonian
When: 23 Nov 14 20:54
I think Vautour only runs in the Arkle if UDS does not look up to the level over fences or gets a set-back, otherwise V will be in the JLT. Just my opinion.
By:
sintonian
When: 23 Nov 14 20:55
Put it this way, if they both continue to look top class over 2miles I really cannot see WPM running them against each other at Cheltenham. He's never done that before with two top, top class horses.
By:
sintonian
When: 23 Nov 14 20:56
If a trainer is lucky enough to get two very good horses over the same trip they will do their best to separate them.
By:
Can't Catch Me
When: 23 Nov 14 21:07
I agree with that Sint, but I'd that was the case, it looks obvious that UDS should be the JLT horse does it not? Already won twice over 2m4f in France on heavy ground. Vautour looks like he will easily get the longer trip, and has already won over 2 1/2, but crucially he has proved he can win over 2m at the course and UDS hasn't.

The Arkle is the more high profile race, and Vautour looks to be the more high profile horse at this stage.
By:
Can't Catch Me
When: 23 Nov 14 21:08
UDS starting life over 2m2f as well, whilst Vautour stayed at 2m. Which would suggest they are looking at a bit further to me.
By:
Can't Catch Me
When: 23 Nov 14 21:10
Having just checked, UDS isn't even entered in the JLT. How bizarre is that? Vautour is.
By:
foolsgold123
When: 23 Nov 14 21:11
Yeah only way this is running in the Arkle is if UDS doesn't step up to the mark, my thoughts exactly. If the Arkle was he's first choice he's a even money shot not a 5/1 shot.

Can't remember the last time a Supreme winner didn't run in the Arkle or Champion Hurdle the following year....All Ferof, Cinders, Menorah, Champagne Fever etc.

But then there was no G1 2.5m chase.

Entries for the Festival races don't close until 2015, you may have been looking at the RP guesses CCM?  Vautour looks like an Arkle banker to me, unless they don't run him in it.

Hasn't WPM said that UDS will be kept to minimum trip and only reason he's running over further this week is due to lack of available options? I'm on Vautour for the Arkle and it appears to be the best race for him, but I'm worried I've done my dough
