If I was to go in again in Supreme it would be Irving. I've backed him at 12-1 today for the Betfair Hurdle and it he were to win that the 12-1 for Supreme would be slashed completely.

Another one for me
RSA - Morning Assembly 16/1 CV Byrne's post has influenced me! |
By:
Looked at Arkle and think there could be a couple of horses that could come to the fore in next couple of months as well as a Mullins thing that should run here instead of the favourite. All NRFB as are most of mine at the moment.
Arkle : Felix Yonger 10-1 Caid Du Berlais ew 25-1 Mozoltov ew 25-1 |
By:
Hope you right Bally like Felix Yonger a lot, great leper!

![]() leper....I guess |

Yeah Stevo I think he would be better than C Fever over the trip and I just can't see C Fever winning bumper/supreme/Arkle..Front runners haven't won an Arkle for many a year and he has made all in his two festival victories. My gut feeling is that Felix will go Hewson but at 10/1 NRFB I'll take a guess.
Mozoltov has good hurdle form and could be anything over fences so again 25/1 NRFB why not? Caid du berlsis got to within 3 lengths of Jezki over hurdles and jumped well on chase debut. Nicholls is quoted as being "very excited" by him and so who knows but again NRFB so I'll give it a go. Defy Logic can't win cos he'"ll chuck it up the hill Hinterland second season novice. Not for me. Grandouet is a dog. Dodging Bullets I think is best early in season. Oscar Whisky will go Jewson As will Tarquin. |

By:
Defy logic............harsh comment
By:
Possibly but just can't see him fighting it out for an Arkle up that hill to be honest.Bit of a headcase is he not?
By:
No, I don't think so. He likes to get on with it, but hes only had 8 races and been 1st or 2nd in all of them.
Yes,its possible he may tire up the hill cos hes put too much in earlier, but no evidence to say he would chuck it in ,that I can see. Just think hes an exciting front runner that could really light up the Arkle, and its a better race for his presence for sure. |
By:
The ground is the only thing against Defy Logic. Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't come over.
Champagne doesn't need to lead IMO. Plus won't have to with Rick On Ruby in the line up. |
By:
Think ROR will be just off the pace as he was when he won the CH.Either DL or CF will make it imo, thats their normal way of running.
Fair point re ground, but its normally good/soft on the Tuesday, and I hope that's deemed ok for DL to take his chance. |
By:
I'd say after CF's last outing Ruby will not try and take on the lead IF Rock On Ruby and Defy Logic are in the race and pushing fast fractions. He is the worlds leading jockey and will not get involved in a furious pace.
By:
In the supreme last year there wasn't a natural front runner, and the last thing
Ruby wants on a stayer is a sprint finish. But with potentially 2 other front runners in the race he will happily sit just behind the pace. |
By:
This is all of course IF C Fever runs in Arkle.lets not forget his trainer probe to a last minute switch including this particular horse. Felix Yonger is no mug and would be a good ride in an Arkle.
As Budd says Champagne Fever beaten over Arkle trip Felix Yonger unbeaten over it. |
By:
Indeed, CF not a definite runner.
By:
Will suit ROR to sit behind Defy Logic, and if CF does the same I would struggle to see how CF can beat ROR at the business end, wont be quick enough imo. Felix might be though!!
By:
Rock On Ruby's too old man....
By:
That's what I love about pre Cheltenham chat, we all see things differently.
I'm not a big AntePost player, I've only had one bet so far, but still love the banter. Handicaps at Chelt are more my thing. In the Arkle if the pace is slow I think Ruby will push the pace, but if its fast enough he will happily sit behind. Felix Yonger I agree has looked top drawer but he can win the Jewson and will run in that race. Champagne will win an easy Arkle IMO. |
By:
Defy Logic may well wane up the hill but don't think he's one to 'chuck it' either. He had every opportunity to do so last but stayed on grimly up the Leopardstown hill.
Think we'll be kept guessing late which Mullins horse runs ![]() |

Grandouet is a dog
Rock On Ruby's too old man Call it as you see it Ballydoyle ![]() |

Ach you know me...forget the PC crap
Grandouet sleeps in a kennel. Hound |
By:
Hey Stevo looking forward to Vautour today?you got him eh?
By:
Yeah I am and The Liquidator ( not sure re course ) Vautour would need to win well to justify all the money for it last few days silly price now. Will have to tape it as just in from work reading Post and sleep back to work tonight.
Good luck with any today, only bet for me River Maigue missed price taken 7/1 should go well for step up in trip. |
By:
Yep I'm on River Maigue today as well and took Josses Hill in the Liquidator race. Boo you say? lol. Best of luck
By:
Vautour not impressive, Liquidator gone, River Maigue went out like light had 2 singles and double with Shotgun Paddy, so won on day.
Josies Hill ran decent race makes Faugheen look better! |
By:
Cant believe Josses got done by his stablemate today

Morning Assembly - RSA @ 25/1
Defy Logic - Arkle @ 16/1 Felix Yonger - Arkle @ 10/1 NRFB Also a Yankee: Morning Assembly - RSA @25/1 Defy Logic - Arkle @ 16/1 Faugheen - Neptune @ 16/1 Sizing Rio - Jewson @ 25/1 Got that last one wrong! |
By:
Bally, Faugheen beat Jossies Hill 22 lengths in his bumper, might be your one for Supreme? ( JH )Few doubles added Felix Yonger 10/1 ( Arkle ) with First Lieutenant 12/1 and my mate Salsify 7/1. First play on RSA Morning Assembly 12/1 nr f/b.
By:
"Champagne Fever has done everything right, but Felix Yonger hammered Defy Logic and Defy Logic won the race the other day [the Racing Post Novice Chase at Leopardstown on Boxing Day in which Champagne Fever finished third after a bad mistake at the second-last fence]", Mullins told At The Races.
"I think it was a fantastic performance by Defy Logic in that race and Felix Yonger beat Defy Logic and Champagne Fever didn't. |
By:
stevo....I got Faugheen for Neptune at 10s and AB at 8s. The latter is my preference because I think The Tullow Tank will win the Neptune if he is runs there. Faugheen isn't quick enough for the Supreme nor does he jump well enough. If Briar Hill runs in Neptune and Faugheen in the 3 miler I'll be a happy man.
Where is my Supreme horse West Wizard I wonder? |
By:
Henderson gone quiet on West Wizard think was 8/1 fav, few months back and very well touted. Horse that beat it turned over since, so maybe not all well?
Faugheen have 14s nr f/b for Neptune, not sure to do same now for Albert Bartlett as dont fancy Kings Palace. Can be expensive backing Mullins in the novice races, without nr no bet/free bet only way to go,as they will be much shorter on day. Like The Tullow Tank looks like step in trip would suit, like to see him over that distance first though. |
By:
A Mullins festival I'm afraid.
Vautour in Supreme 20/1 Champagne Arkle - NRFB and to win any race Our Connor CH Faugheen Neptune NRFB and to win any race Shutthefrontdoor NRFB Black Hercules bumper A few accumulators involving the above plus some more Mullins horses, Bobs Worth Calipto and AFC. Oh and Annie Power to run in the Mares at 8/1 with Paddy. A special they ran a couple of weeks ago. Probably on a loser with that one. Forty |
By:
About 95% of mine revolve around Mullins and Nicholls (but mainly Mullins to be honest). All stakes are only fivers or tenners, apart from Hurricane Fly and Annie Power ones are £20
Below is my complete antepost book to date (won't be going in on much else now) Mullins Felix Yonger - Jewson 25.0, layed off at 15 Felix Yonger - Arkle 14/1 NRFB Briar Hill - AB 12/1 NRFB Faugheen - Neptune 14/1 NRFB BH and Faugheeen Double - 195/1 Hurricane Fly - 10/1 Annie Power (Champion) - 12/1 NRFB Annie Power (World) - 5/1 NRNB Champagne Fever (Jewson) - 10/1 NRFB Nicholls Al Ferof (Ryanair) - 25.0 Wonderful Charm (Jewson) - 9/1 Uburu D'Irelane (Neptune) - 38.0 Others The Tullow Tank (Neptune) - 14/1 NRFB Melodic Rendesvous - 25/1 NRFB Sizing Rio (Jewson) - 25/1 Rock on Ruby (Arkle) - 16/1 Grandouet - 33/1 layed off at 15.0 West Wizard - 20/1 Lucky 15, put on in the summer Grandouet (12/1), Oscar Whisky (12/1), Big Bucks (4/1), Conti (10/1) Happy with most of them at this stage (if they turn up in the races that I've backed the Mullins ones in). Unlike most people, I'm not really a fan of the handicaps at Cheltenham (from a betting perspective). Too many runners, unreliable form and too many plots, so I put nearly all of my efforts in to the Grade 1's and 2's. Good luck all. |
By:
Got 4 of your Mullins horses, not Briar Hill,Champagne Fever, also Al Ferof ( Ryanair ). Best of luck just over 8 weeks to show time.
By:
Touch wood my gut feeling was right and felix goes for arkle and champagne goes jewson got nice prices a while back. One of my bigger bets is al ferof ryanair 20/1 if it runs can't see it out the first 3. Still not convinced about where faugheen and brair hill will end up though!
By:
8 weeks till I can redeem all my fun coupons...Morning Assembly will be getting traded off if he doesnt have a prep cos you don't win RSAs without a run in that same calendar year
By:
I try to stay away from A/P bets but was tempted by what I saw at the time as reliable runners at least.
Solwhit-now a non runner. Cue Card for the Ryanair. 50:50 which race he runs in. Garde la Victoire for Supreme. Very disappointing on Saturday so only hope is that he wants better ground. I shan't be having any more apart from laying all the short prices except Bobs Worth. Anything else I fancy is likely to be as good a price on the day. |
