Another race to add to the portfolio :
Ryanair Chase Al Ferof 6-1 Hidden Cyclone 36.0 Beneffficient 8-1 |
By:
ballydoyle just so you know, you probably already do but hidden cyclone likely for champ chase states the trainer in racing post today
By:
Yeah I saw that but I'm going to take a small chance he appears in Ryanair after possibly being found wanting for pace on Saturday. 3rd in Paddy Power over the trip, beat a length by Sir Des Champs last season over the trip in a race likely to cut up quite a bit..taken a wee flutter
By:
ah no probs...i see...tricky race as ever the ryannair
By:
Possibly but may not be as it first seems.
Cue Card - Gold Cup most probably First Lieutenant - surely Gold Cup Dynaste - unsure. Think he will run in this but happy to take him on Marito - been hurdling all year Arvika Legionnaire - right handed track horse Captain Conan - didnt seem to get home in Jewson last year These are all in top 8 of the market. |
By:
I would not back him until the final decs, but Captain Chris would be my speculative choice for the Ryanair at the moment.
By:
Captain Chris didn't get an entry to the Ryanair.
By:
Was looking at the Ryanair last night - really think it is worth an ante post bet or two due to the reasons outlined above, unlikely runners etc. Hidden Cyclone looked interesting despite the Champion Chase being nominated as the target, thinking of taking 16's NRFB. Also Benefficient and Baily Green under consideration.
All three irish trained though - not won this yet and bad record in the Cathcart! |
By:
Quite fancy Dynaste for Ryanair, just not sure if that's his likely target
By:
I could see Nicholls running one of his novices in the Ryanair
By:
Hinterland and Dodging Bullets were entered in the Champion Chase but not the Ryanair.
By:
Ryanair topped up on Al Ferof and Marito, hopefully at least one might show? Added First Lieutenant & Rocky Creek for Gold Cup, to main Conti bet.
By:
Supreme added Valseur Lido @ The Tullow Tank nr f/b, think ive backed 4 in race getting as bad as STS lol!
By:
Will have my finger on lay button re Irving in Betfair Hurdle, in case as on at approx 34s.
By:
Re Supreme to trade some back.
By:
Shame Mullins not bringing Valseur for Haydock,Stand to Reason the dark one?
By:
our conor 12,11.5 and 11.............. been steadily shovelling it on !
medinas world hurdle ........crazy win prices ,20s and 19s to place ........hopefull of place ,win probably out of reach ! champagne fever 8s average for the arkle ......will have a shed load on by time of race also got smaller for Jewson same horse ! rock on ruby fair amount on for arkle at average 16s |
By:
Cue Card at 150/1 for Good Cup is my most fancy looking bet so far. It was a special double with the Betfair Chase. I reckon Bobs Worth will probably win, but I'm happy to be sitting on that price. Benefficient at 16/1 for the Ryanair looks fairly good too. I don't get too heavily involved antepost though. I have my main bets on the day, when we know all the info.
By:
yeah I have not done as many ante post this year, just some I found irrisistable !
By:
Arkle - Felix Yonger & Rock on Ruby both 16/1 NRFB
RSA - Morning Assembly 16/1 NRFB JLT - Champagne Fever 10/1 NRFB, Third Intention 33/1 NRFB Ryanair - Benefficient 8/1 NRFB, Rathlin 20/1 NRFB Gold Cup - First Lieutenant 12/1 NRFB, Dynaste 16/1 NRFB, Vino Griego Win and EW at daft prices on here. Also 2 Trixies TNO 8/1 in both Big Bucks 4/1 in both Dynaste 25/1 @ Sir des Champs (down) |
By:
Champion Hurdle - Un De Sceaux 14/1 NRFB forgot that one!!!!!
By:
If Mullins doesn't have winner at Festival will be some long faces on this thread!
By:
Salsify in Foxhunters going for treble in race, very lucky winner last year but at 6/1 decent bet, given ground not too soft. He has won me decent amounts last 2 seasons, not too much in way of competition at present. Always needs 1st run, will be out Feb Leopardstown meeting if all well.
By:
Another for Ryanair...
Baily Green 20/1 ew usual NRFB |
By:
its hard enough just sorting out the fibresand tomorrow
still not had a bet yet or decent wager anyway, them days have gone...but am starting to consider a small wager on kid cassidy for champ chase although i have some buttons on felix yonger at 16 for arkle but not convinced how they have trained him, so might just lay him off even though its with the bookies will make my mind up this week on this quirky creature but find it hard to part with the cash ante post these days but do like him, i always have and 20's is staring at me saying take me take me!! |
By:
Kid Cassidy was the one I immediately looked at when Sacre was pulled up. He easily beat Sire de Grugy but was receiving 10 pounds.got trounced in Ireland but is it just a case of this horse needs to be mad fresh?if so then is a big ew price.
As for the fibresand Harry sack that man. Cheltenham is easier two months away than that stupid course.Hate Suvvel me! |
By:
The way Kid Cassidy easily picked off Sire De Grugy regardless of the 10 pounds and he's 5/2 against 16/1....I've got my finger on an ew play here....deal or no deal Harry?what do I do?
By:
most of my punting is on the flat ballydoyle and love southwell plus all weather racing, haven't even looked at leicester
![]() yes kid cassidy was a big loser for me at last years festival the lad on board was obviously told to go in lane 8 the whole way, deplorable stuff... am hoping it is just a fresh thing and maybe he just didn't travel well the last day but he is a good horse if he can get his act together...am not keen on betting much else in the race...10lbs was a big concede from sire de grugy that day but thought cassidy won easy...but do like him the only race i am studying heavy is the albert bartlett as like the race but just have the jigsaw pieces at the moment |
By:
well i am holding fire at the moment but will make my mind up this week
By:
I love the flat hence my username (I am not Irish-I just like the stable) and bang em in on the all weather at Kempton (Suroor Beckett Fanshawe), Lingfield (Kirby Atzeni) and Wolves (G Baker) but that flamin fibresands sent me to the nuthouse man. Horses goin up 12 pounds n winnin easy then another 6 pounds n hosin up...on the other 3 they'd bomb.
The Kid had a wind op in summer also but it's one of these...he simply couldn't beat Sacre but will he turn up? |
By:
Adore the Albert Bartlett - Nenuphar 14/1 Weapons 20/1 ring a bell along with Boston Bob beat at 8/1
.Who do you fancy? I took Faugheen at 8/1 and Oscar Rock at 25/1 both NRFB but think former off to Neptune. The latter wants 3m and trained by a guy who likes to have a winner here |
By:
oh no he can't beat a fit sacre no one can...
but that is factored into the price were getting...i for one wouldn't take the odds on sacre myself as your not betting on him winning your betting on his well being |
By:
well like i say i just have the jigsaw pieces at the moment i wanted to back faugheen heavy as think he has had the ideal prep for the race, but if he doesn't go it is quite tough...have 4-5 horses i am considering but like i say i don't do a lot of ante post betting so am happy to take an under price as long as i know it is a runner and faugheen would of been a big play and i'd be happy to take 4-1 if i knew he was going...with him probably not going i have one i like at a price but can't reveal just in case i miss what i want but haven't made my mind up anyway so we will see i will know in about 3 weeks time
one question is the pipe horse running pre-cheltenham do you know |
By:
I agree with Ballydoyle on Bailey Green in the Ryanair. Ran really well in the Arkle last year when he was possibly over the top after winning 4 or 5 races in a row in Ireland.
If he gets good ground could be very interesting esp. if the ryanair cuts up like I think it will. Haven't had any big antepost bets just the following: 7/1 Dodging Bullets - Arkle And a treble Dodging Bullets, Baltazahar King and Bobs Worth. I just had a look at the prices I can't believe Ballycasey is 8/1 for the RSA possibly the worst value ever. He has had one run over fences against a rag. I backed him nrfb last year for the albert barlett so I know he is a good horse but surely a horse needs more than 1 run over fences to even consider him favorite. I really like Wonderful Charm as a nrnb his run against Oscar Whisky giving him 8lbs is the best form from all these horses. Just got done for toe slightly by OW but he was stopping think he is a stout stayer 3m will play more to his strenghts. |
By:
Not sure but he is one im happy to take on.think form is too good to be true and trainer just doesn't really do it for me . Bring back his father
By:
I had plenty on Simonsig in the Arkle and **** myself when Baily Green loomed up...I thought "erm who's he??".when doin my original analysis I didn't think he'd be a possible runner but betfair prices have come in.
By:
Re Albert Bartlett think Captain Cutter would have cracking chance if heading for this, looks out and out stayer won Grade 1 lto. Beat current Fav Kings Palace in bumper last season as well, decent price 10/1 nr f/bet? Sts will wait on Baltazhar as ground dependent, but major chance given good/soft at worse.

Added to my list
West Wizard 14/1 NRFB - Supreme thanks to CV's write up. Made a lot of sense to me. Royal Boy 14/1 NRFB - Neptune. Already won G1 Tolworth and looks pretty good to me. |
By:
Entire ante post portfolio in all it's gory detail. Very much still learning but also AP betting for chelt is a little bit of fun for me - keeps the interest over the winter before bigger bets go on during the week.
Supreme - looking ugly! West Wizard £10 @ 20/1 West Wizard £20 @ 14/1 NRFB Golantilla £15 @ 46.16 Urubu Dirlande £10 @ 37.99 Alonso £5 @ 44.00 Arkle Champagne Fever £20 @ 7/1 Champagne Fever £15 @ 8.6 Champagne Fever £50 @ 4/1 NRFB Felix Yonger £20 @ 14/1 Champion Hurdle MTOY £20 @ 10/1 HF £15 @ 9/1 HF £10 @ 6.8 HF £25 @ 7/2 Our Conor £10 @ 15.00 - laid out at 6.4 Neptune Faugheen £10 @ 16/1 Faugheen £20 @ 14/1 NRFB Faugheen £10 @ 12.53 Faugheen £30 @ 6/1 NRFB Oscar Rock £10 @ 16/1 - placed in April! Urubu Dirlande £10 @ 61.62 Urubu Dirlande £10 @ 33/1 NRFB RSA Ballycasey £5 @ 36.0 - laid out at 15.00 Ballycasey £10 @ 33/1 Ballycasey £10 @ 14/1 NRFB Don Cossack £15 @ 21.40 World Hurdle Big Bucks £20 @ 5.01 - laid out at 3.7 Big Bucks £30 @ 3/1 Big Bucks £20 @ 11/4 Big Bucks £30 @ 5/2 NRFB Ryanair £20 Simonsig @ 10.00 Gold Cup £20 Bobs Worth @ 6/1 Accas £10 EW Faugheen @ 14/1 and Ballycasey @ 25/1 £10 HF, Quevega, Faugheen @ 51/1 - copied cvbryne on that one. All in all doing OK but have definitely got way too carried away this year! Supreme hangs on WW and I really like The Tullow Tank but wont be touching anything again until far nearer the time. |
By:
Felix Yonger bet is also NRFB - missed that bit
