I thought the max for the VC offer was £500 per customer. Hopefully you have got all the right races foolsgold and won't need the free bet.

Max £500 worth of free bets, so hopefully most of mine turn up and won't have to use many. Looks like a lot of bets but my hurricane fly and big bucks bets we're put on in April last year, and the rest spread out so hasn't hurt the wallet that bad. I've loved it this year and thanks to b3tvictor I could have a real go this year.

Fools you say you're only a small Saturday punter, but you've got £900 invested on AntePost already.

Good luck mate, but the nrfb is not as good as it sounds personally.

I work to much to be anything but a Saturday punter to be fair. I think "invested" is the word here I like to think I have a good hand going in to march. Nice to have free bet waiting in my account when the non runners come pouring in and it'll be nice to get the massive prices with the horses I have taking a chance with. It's just abit fun at the end of the day.
By:

That's the thing regarding the nrfb. If you fancy one in a race and it is a non runner you have to have a bet in the race whether you have an opinion or not, betting for the fun of it.   Not my game but each to their own.
By:

When: 06 Jan 14 09:55
You don't have to use the free bet in that race, you just have to use it on the day, in any race you like. For example, I've backed CF in the arkle NRFB - if be doesn't run I can use it say on Quevega instead

Pretty sure you can use it on the day for any future race so say yours is a non runner on Tuesday you can use it for the Gold Cup for example. Would that be right?
By:

When: 06 Jan 14 22:59
No not from what i remember, refund on day of race eg The New One is a non runner free bet for Tuesday only.

Bally, would you normally place this many AntePost bets or is this more than the norm?

If you do, do you make a profit? Or does your punting on the day of the race make the profit?
By:
Ballydoyle
When: 07 Jan 14 10:52
Yes very normal to go in early at Cheltenham for me then back in for more a few days before it starts topping up with NRNB. It would only be the handicaps I would bet on the day. A lot of these are covered in part using NRFB.Would think the money will be coming back from Harry Topper for example.

Never put selections up before so there to be shot at but it is tiring when you come on here and say looking forward to Lord Windermere at 33/1 and The New One at 16/1 and one or two give it "prove it" bla bla bla so in a way I am proving it as we go along.

Had another look at the King George there and despite being against Al Ferof in that race I've had a rethink and reckon the Gold Cup could be right up his street. Obviously I've had more Gold Cup bets than ideal at the moment but the 40-1 makes things interesting so taken Al Ferof NRNB ew at 14-1 as Harry Topper cash will be coming back and cant see both Rocky Creek (NRNB also) and Al Ferof lining up alongside Silvi. First Lieutenant may not turn up either. And that is me done with the Gold Cup. Now you can all watch Cue Card winLaugh

Bally why do you think FL might not turn up?  With no SDC, Gigginstown will go for the Gold Cup with FL even though Bobsworth always ends up just in front. Looks sure to be thereabouts.  Giggs other horses are on the comeback trail and need to be proven.

I think it would be madness not to run him in the Gold Cup personally as I think he has a right good chance but sure I read something about Morris saying they would sit down and discuss Cheltenham. Hopefully he goes there without the Hennessey prep run though.

Mouse Morris will consider the Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown on February 9 for First Lieutenant following the gelding's fine effort in the Lexus Chase.

The nine-year-old was only beaten a length and a half by Bobs Worth in the Grade One over three miles at Leopardstown on Saturday which put behind him a disappointing run in the JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal in early November.

"The form is there and the form is rock solid. He (Bobs Worth) had beaten me twice before. He's got beaten by a Gold Cup horse, so there's nothing to be disappointed with," Morris told At The Races.

"I think I made a boo boo in Down Royal - you learn from your mistakes.

"He'll get an entry in the Hennessy, but whether he runs there or wherever, I don't know.

"We'll have a meeting about whether he goes for the Gold Cup (at Cheltenham) and see."

Gigginstown might think that if Cue Card goes Gold Cup then Ryanair is there for taking but then SDC out so owner doesnt have much to run in the Gold Cup as far as I can see?
By:

Surely that report from Morris was before the news broke regarding SDC.

FL will be in the Gold Cup.

Well Bally, I've just backed him (FL) 12/1 EW with 365 NRNB.  Must go close if he runs on form with Bobs.  Not many win back to back Gold Cups so FL's now on my side along with Dynaste 16/1 NRFB. Still believe he has a chance and if confirmed will prob go in again and also got massive price on here for Vino Griego and Double Seven, but doubt DS will run.

Think 12-1 is a great ew bet. Thats why I went back in for that. The 20-1 I have for him is via here at the start of the season but 12-1 NRNB will do me. Super Cooper will be on board and he likes him.

There no harm in backing a few horses in a race if you've got the right odds.

I've got MTOY @ 10/1 and HF @ 9/1 - not massive money mind. I could, because of that position, back TNO to cover myself.

With the main races you can often guess what will turn up some way in advance and if you take a price and get lucky, it makes sense to try and ensure you don't lose.

Every now and then the bookies help you out on the day as well. PP going money back on HF last yr was immense. Only three horses could really win so you could back zarkander and ROR with then to ensure it's not too bad if HF loses. They' were 7/2 and 4/1 a good week or so out with PP

Best of luck @Alleged22. Some decent picks there although not sure about CC - imo.
By:

When: 07 Jan 14 23:10
tbh the cc bet is purely a bit of fun at long odds on here as he,ll defo run in the race, the race is sure to cut up between now and march, and on the day he will be about 16 or 20-1
By:

Alleged have backed 3 of yours, and just backed Felix Yonger 10/1 Nr Free Bet as imo has best form in race, given too much too do lto by over confident jock. Arkle is tough race, hopefully he now street wise and if showing up in Arkle would take lot of beating. Think the Irish novices are better than UK at present, but that can all change quickly. Good luck with your investments.

The Liquidator due to run this Saturday @ Kempton wouldnt be my favoured option as speed track, if Irving shows think he beats him for turn of foot. Lets hope its on as Willie bringing Upazo over as a sighter me thinks re he better ones at home?
By:

When: 08 Jan 14 10:29
Felix Yonger best novice jumper seen this season, just watched his 4 races, should be unbeaten imo?
Arkle hopefully as they go helter skelter, will suit as stays two and half.
By:

When: 08 Jan 14 21:18
Kempton will defo not suit and I don,t think he will win, but I expect him to reverse placings at Cheltenham with any of the other runners easily
By:

When: 08 Jan 14 22:25
Pipe has already said its less than ideal and won't suit. I'd expect Irving to beat him there but I wouldn't back Irving for the SNH if someone else's money. Fair play to those who stuck their necks out and took the 20's - 30's available before his last race, but ex flat have an appalling record of placing in the supreme, let alone winning it
