See Skybet are the new sponsors of the race.Probably worth keeping an eye on their prices etc as the season progresses, they may well throw in a decent offer or two

Gutted about this to be honest. I thought when Hills sponsored the race their first 6 e/w offer was outstanding value and I was looking forward to doing the same again this year. Hills at least take a semblance of a bet whereas Skybet closed me down the minute I had £100e/w on West Wizard at 16/1 for the Supreme nov Hdl - some offer that is! Can't get a bean on now...Hopefully Hills may take onboard another race and offer the same terms.

That performance from The Liquidator has tempted me into my first proper antepost Festival bet. 20s too big IMO

Yeah I've just seen, got excited at the 20s and my fingers acted too fast for my brain Crazy

In fairness, he has bags of speed and would prefer to be covered up rather than make his own running going on Pipey's comments. Bury him away in the pack off of a scorching Supreme pace, ideal.

The Liquidator looks a nice horse and showed a good attitude today, but I suspect he's not even the best 2m novice in the stable.

Judging by the smile on Tom Scu's face and the excitement in his voice post-race, I doubt that Mystic Wind.

Red Sherlock & Doctor Harper both look top prospects this season also

Is Red Sherlock still eligible for the Champion Bumper - I think he is so long as he five or less runs before it (he currently has three).

Red Sherlock - Pipe said was schooling well at Timmy Murphy's prior to arriving back from the summer and not long been back at the yard so would imagine will now go novice hurdling

Dubai Prince, having just hacked up in an egg and spoon race one cannot get too carried away at this early stage. But from a yard thats horses often improve for the run, and mainly only gets cast offs from the flat to send over hurdles are sure to bag a big one sooner rather than later and at 25s is surely worth a each way punt and this early stage. He looked good there, seemed to enjoy hurdling, plenty scope and looks to have pace in abundance. Just speculating like. But that is all us guessers can really do at this stage.

He has beaten absolutely nothing there. Looked good but most would against that kack.

I thought PFNs Irving looked decent last week. Will be keeping an eye on him.

Thats another point about John Ferguson's novices off the flat, they seem to always all start in egg and spoon races against kack as you put it lol. I am convinced he will bag the big one sooner than later with one. May not be that one, but he did look good. I am aware he beat nothing of any calibre, but i was taken by him. Some in egg and spoon races make you sit back and think, others make you just say well it looked ok but it wasn't special if you get my meaning. Seem to remember Sprinter Sacre started in them and finians rainbow did too, now imagine if they were with a not so popular trainer. About 90% of JF's horses are cast offs from the flat off godolphin et al, owners that are high calibre with horses that must have shown something in the early days for them to be interested. Maybe hurdles is the making of him?

It is all speculation as i already said. I liked it. 25s is a fair price

Cheers Simon. I suspect the horse in second, Cup Final, will be winning races given it's breeding and stable but at what level who knows. Any ideas where they may head next with Irving? I see he is entered in a Listed race at Haydock and also Ascot this weekend.

It could be on Friday, or it may more than likely be at the Hennessy meeting.

The Philip Hobbs-trained youngster was surprisingly easy to back despite having beaten Regal Encore on his hurdling bow and was sent off at 15/8 as the weight of support forced the well-regarded Gone Too Far into 5/6 favouritism.

Profiles P J Hobbs R Johnson Garde La Victoire (FR)
The writing appeared to be on the wall for supporters of Alan King's charge with Robert Thornton (standing in for an injured AP McCoy) niggling his mount along on the far side of the track as the eventual winner freewheeled along at the head of affairs.

Gone Too Far did force his way into contention on the turn into the home straight but was soon left floundering in the mud as Johnson kicked the four year old into a commanding advantage which he maintained to the line despite a couple of sketchy leaps.

The winning distance was 11 lengths with a further two lengths back to Mystifiable in third.

Johnson revealed that he was in front sooner than he liked but that he hopes that there's plenty more to come.

"We haven't gone very quick but he's jumped the third that well that he's ended up taking me to the front before I wanted to," he told Racing UK.

"Ideally I'd have liked to have had a lead until the second last but that's just the way it happened. He's very straightforward and as I say he's a horse on the upgrade and potentially a nice one for the future.

"When he won at Aintree the second horse (Regal Encore) was very keen and it's hard to know the form until he runs again but this horse is definitely very smart.

"He won his bumper last year and then had time to fill out and grow up and it's the best thing that's ever happened to him. This year he's much stronger, he's only four but he's a real man of a horse now.

"He's still green but lots more potential to come. He seems to go through the ground whatever he's faced in his three runs he's coped with it but two miles on soft ground is, perhaps, the right trip for him at the moment but when we get better ground in the spring we'll find out how he handles that."

"We'll probably pitch him in somewhere better next time. These are the horses you are hoping to find from the horses coming through."

Looks a very similar type to Menorah who won a Supreme for Hobbs. If it were trained by NJH or WPM it would be probably be half the price.

Agreed about the striking similarities to Menorah from Garde La Victoire. When he eventually gets his jumping right he will be a proper machine. He has such a engine on him and he was very impressive in the way he pulled away today off a slow pace and after flattening a couple of flights.

Another easy win for Irving. Not sure what he beat but he done it in fine style. Some 16/1 quotes for the Supreme. Looks to have speed and stamina.

Yep another nice win for Irving. Annoying the race was run at a crawl because I don't think we learned much again

West Wizard was very disappointing.

Really impressed with Moyle Park yesterday =- just the usual Mulins 'will he / won't he' scenario puts me off having a bet at 16/1.

Just watched Moyle Parks last 3 races again on the ATR site and feel he is definitely more of a 2 miler (show plenty of pace and quickens) so have taken 14/1 nrfb with VC.

Nice to see Volnay de Thaix again today, quiet like this one whose been escaping under the radar somewhat ,although not sure why. Was really impressed with his jumping at Kempton and again today. Had 2 pretty easy races so no idea how good he is,took 70 on here, and since had a bit more at 38.
Bookies starting to take him a tad more serious now and best priced 25 which gives me a bit more confidence.
Gonna be stepped up in class next time, will know a lot more after his next race.

Defintely budd. Visually impressive but my instinct says that he hasn't beaten a lot yet. Be interesting to see him up against one or two more useful types.

Anyone think Oscar Rock could run in the Supreme?

When: 29 Nov 13 23:59
Not in a million years. I backed OR for the Neptune in May and having watched back his bumper races and one hurdle race last night, he's got far more chance of ending up in the AB than the SNH. He's a relentless galloper

Interesting Royal Bond there, winner looks a Neptune type, but the third Arctic Fire was flying at the end, after finding some trouble in running; the least fancied of the Mullins trio. I've had a wee tickle on this one at 33's with billys.

"Anyone think Oscar Rock could run in the Supreme?"
Wonder if the owner will regret moving him. I remember going on a stable visit in 1996 and he said he wasn't a big fan of schooling as the horses teach themselves to jump. That's never chimed with me.

I liked Arctic Fire too, keeps meeting trouble because he's travelling so well so would probably benefit from a strongly run race like the supreme.

I'm not touching Willie's novices with a bargepole though. He's already got 4 20/1 or under for this race, it's impossible to guess who goes where.
