I really should had started this last sunday morning.
Well i was blown away when he made his hurdle debut, backed him big time on the sunday at the paddy power meeting.
But after the way the horse Coneygree beat ran today i feel Coneygree needs his own Fred.
Already my fav Novice hurdler.

Really like Coneygree, but do wonder if the deep ground is making him look a worldbeater. His brother loved it as a novice hurdler (or at least went through it when others didn't), and the way he won at Cheltenham suggested to me like he was the only one that really saw out the trip in those conditions. I just have a gut feeling that he'll be much less effective on better stuff when the speedier types are less inconvenienced.

Entered this saturday at cheltenham, the opposition dont look that good.

I declared on Sat may well back him for AB beforehand.
He may be flattered by the ground but its clear that he is a decent horse and he should go on g/s |

Good effort from Coneygree but on the expected better ground come March, surely something will do him for toe?

If he was from a top stable he'd be shorter. I didnt think he was flat out today think Bachelor only pickedthe stick up twice all race. I like him

I agree ReaseHeath, he was having a good look around at the end so there should be more to come. I think the 12/1 with lads is a very fair price (even though they only offer a 1/5th EW) I can see him being 4's or 5's on the day.

Up To Something who could not live with Coneygree at uttoxeter runs a decent race in the Kennel Gate Novices' Hurdle at ascot.

Form took another major boost today with Gevrey winning at Wincanton.
Gevrey just beat Corrin Wood at Haydock whilst Coneygree destroyed Corrin at uttoxeter Looking a major festival banker for me |

To be fair this race isn't looking that strong at the minute so why not. Reminded me of Brindisi Breeze but a tad quicker.

I hope it's soft ground for this horse because if its good or worse with the height this horses knees get up too he'll smash his legs to bits

I took 12s after his December win and reminds me of Brindisi Breeze in that he sets a fast pace and keeps going. The form with Aerial is fair enough as that one's 154 over fences but his November win over 2 miles 4 furlongs showed he's got the speed as well. Can't really see any holes in him and can't see the ground being faster than good to soft unless we have a drought. You need a really tough one for this race and he fits the bill for me.

Race tomorrow is tailor made for him. Ground will be very testing and he is an out and out stayer. However, the opposition is the best he's faced over hurdles by a long chalk.

14/1 is a bit of an over reaction for the Albert Bartlett imo.
I though he jumped and travelled well, and simply didn't have the turn of foot of the front two when the pace quickened. It's not normally flashier speedsters who win the Albert Bartlett and I think its far too early to write Coneygree off, based on one run well short of his ideal trip. |

Winner's handicap mark is now surely shot and he is likely to run in the Bartlett. On what basis can Coneygree beat him?

im sure curtis said after the race defo AB,
FF i can forgive a horse who has run a half decent race on terrible ground after cutting out all the donkey work at a trip too short, i rate the second highly and think he is the neptune winner |

whatever race and whatever price you want to discuss coneygree for you would be wasting your time unless the ground is very heavy, his knee action as said before on here is exaggerated to say the least.
