I do not think moneyforoldrope has any idea of what bookmaking actually is imo the only wally on here is YOUAngry!

I too have backed every runner bar the 100/1er e.w in the Arkle and have 3 places also! I have a 65% book of back bets and so cannot lose barring the rag does not win! I can afford to include him too as only adds 1% to the book but i wont as i do not expect it to be anywhere near them down the back.

Heres another for you fool, i have 12 backed in the supreme, the WORST price i have is 12/1, but these include 2 non runners. This gives me a book of close to 99% but as they are all e/way i have that added bonus of the places also reducing the book to a massive underround thus ensuring nice profit as long as a rag doesn't win.

See a bookmaker wants a rag winning, but a bettor does not, it is basically bookmaking reversed if you get my meaning. Nothing at all wrong with it and i make a killing from it every single year in the grade 1s and championship races!

Gl for the week with your single bets and 2 places in the arkle, i hope you don't do too much doe in! Wink

Actually it doesn't as i said the worst is 12/1 but i also have 14/1, 16/1, 20/1 and 2 at 33/1 so book without working it out but a re-guess is probably closer to 75-80% Wink

each to their own,we all have our different ways of making a profit.
personally like to have a few on my side in each race when possible, getting on early prices can enable me to do that.

Yeah when you miss, it is usually because an outsider wins, one that is relatively unfancied or your judgment has failed on one and you not backed it for whatever reason. It can be expensive though even if i have missed the winner in the first i would hope to get the 2 places and with having 3/1 minimum each place i am looking at a small loss but not as bad as it first looks. Crazy

What a performance. No win/loss in the race for me but cant help but be impressed with that. Al ferof not made finians et al look too great IMO. Although the mistake clearly cost it a lot.

CC ran a cracker and jumped well.

I did try to tell you Harry Laugh

Despite everything going perfectly for him (nice ground, settled better and jumped impeccably) he didn't find all that much from the home bend so he's not a formality for next year's QM.

On a flat track he's unbeatable though.

Best Mate was brilliant but more economical to my eyes Eric - SS will never win a Gold Cup thats for sure.

Was on Al Ferof, don't mind losing to a horse of that quality though. Wd winners, especially those who were on ages back

Very courteous of you BudMischief

Al Ferof will def need further in time, and the Dom Alco in him wants it softer same as Grand Crus.

Out of interest, what prices did everyone get on SS way back when this was started?
Couldn't find the prices easily...

Was running a big race though AG,but im pretty sure he will be over further in time like you say,not sure when that will be though, and the way he was travelling today they may keep him at 2m a bit longer.
Be interesting to see what happens with him for sure.

When you have the best jumper who is also the quickest horse in the race coupled with one of the 2 best steeeplechase jockeys riding, the outcome for me was inevitable.

Interestingly, I had a good look at him in the pre parade ring and he is still not fully furnished. Will be astonished if we see him again this season and he will be even better next year.
