We don't actually know yet if the breathing op worked, 3 runs on flat tracks against opposition that was either very poor or had major excuses wouldn't reveal that.

Cue Card is a different horse from the front. He has the best "franked form" of any Novice this year with Grand Crus. He didn't settle in that race if you watch it again.

9/1 e/w or evens SS ?

Are the Sprinter backs as happy with their bets watching that ?

Why some of you seem so hung up about last years hurdle form astounds me.
Sprinter Sacre is chasing now! Its a different event. Horses who run free over hurdles will struggle but its different over fences. The bigger obstacles contain the energy. If the breathing op has made a difference then thats another bonus. Over hurdles he was just another horse.

Like I said SS was a weak improving horse last season and his best run over hurdles was at Cheltenham. A few of you will have an almighty shock on Tuesday and I agree with ff I have a lot of confidence he will be running 170+. If a horse beats him fair enough but I doubt there are 2 170+ horses in that field at this stage. I have no doubts Al Ferof will be a great chaser but whether he can post that kind of mark over 2 miles I don't know I doubt it.
I just hope people aren't on here saying he beat nothing after the race or such and such didn't run it's race or was injured because it's getting a bit boring..

He's 7/2 for the queen mum with PP which doesn't seem very good value at all

MM. What is boring? People having a different opinion to you? Its equally boring listening to people saying this lad is Pegasus, even though he hasnt won a top race yet, and not being able to listen to any potential negatives. Its a two way street.

Every single person with even the most basic knowledge of racing wont get a shock if SS smashes the field by 20l. But the fact remains that there are holes in his form and many of us believe he hasnt run anywehere near to 170 yet.

There is every chance he might well do it on Tuesday, and I almost hope he does. But all some of us are saying, is lets save the ridiculous hyperbole until he has actually done it.

Finians Rainbow 164 beat Al Ferof 5L at Ascot

Hendersons team know Sprinter Sacre is in a different league to Finians Rainbow now. The whole team!! not just NH, everyone involved with the two horses.

Sprinter Sacre dots up 3 soft races on the snaff. OR 169..He does seem hard to **** because some horses in the form line clearly did not run up to form, due to the fact that their hearts had been broken by this horse. Did NH have French Opera fully wound up? some say no. I`m So Lucky 150 finished over 8L 3rd in receipt of 5lb, beaten by a horse on the bridle. Zaynar 150 and Hold Fast 147 a mile back...Peddlers Cross another who under performed. Perhaps these horses just cant live with Sprinter Sacre and he breaks their hearts.

Whats the rush? Caroline Mould probably wants a natural progression.

I do agree that he should be going for the Queen Mother CC. They know he is better than FR but they probably want to win both. FR has a tough task though.

Been watching ss demolition of p cross few times and to my eyes there wasn't much wrong with peddlers.apart from clouting first fence.
m'cain said they found reasons for defeat but declined to state them, apart from some vague reference to back troubles.
i am one of peddlers biggest fans,i just think he was fairly beaten by a special talent.

Yep it seems every horse that runs against Sprinter Sacre is below par. Even Peddlers ( perhaps going right handed is nort his thing) Cross.

The truth is that they cant live with him. Al Ferof and Cue Card will use up there reserves before the final fence. He burns them away, and that what he will do on tuesday.

**** offer money back if your horse finishes second in one of the first 4 races on day 1 is better

I really can't have Sprinter beaten at all but I certainly can't have two horses beat him (barring accidents of course)

only problem is the maximum is only £200

Here is last years Supreme.

I think it is interesting viewing...stop the race 2 out he looks an aeroplane.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nANps0jY2pI

Till he gets up the hill 9/1 E/W Cue Card is the value in my opinion.

Watch the race again. People cant have this that SS doesnt get up the hill and CC does. I'm sorry they both being pushed at the same time in the straight and SS stays on better

I dont have opinions? How do you work that out?

My point, which you laught at, is perfectly valid. You appear to be missing the point, probably because you have your SS blinkers on.

sj - Cue Card has won up the hill in the festival and so has Al Ferof.

SS hasn't yet so your guessing he does.

If you watch the Supreme again Cue Card pulls in behind the leaders most of the way, while SS sits quietly on the inside. The fact is Al Ferof went past him as if he was standing still and SS didn't pull away even from Cue Card would worry me taking short odds. Breathing op or not it has to be a concern...

I just think Cue Card from the front is value IF he jumps round rather than Evens on SS.

anyone who knows a wee bit about the game will surely be on before it went evens, and as for not staying up the hill, does the horse not look as if it has improved immensely, to my eye, it seems to be stronger from 2 out in every race, i feel the knockers are just taking the pish now. cheers.

Anyone who knows about the game knows the hill has dented some big reputations in the past.

Aren't we just discussing the race from a betting point of view ? If SS wins by 40 lengths and CC finishes 3rd we both are happy betting wise.

Bairn - just interested.. would you advise backing at Evens or just watch and enjoy a potential superstar ?

Not strictly true plenty of racing brains will not get involved until 2 mins before the start. Some would rather double up there stake and back at evens than take 2/1  weeks before.

Sure some may have 8/1 or whatever but that does not make then any wiser. Depends how you like yo lay it down.

We will just have to beg to differ mate. I think they are both being rousted along in the straight level with each other and SS finishes in front of him, I'm just not buying into he wont come up the hill. Sure Spirit Son and Al Ferof came up it better but they were the only two

after watching last years Supreme, I made my mind up that I   would bet Al Ferof in every race it ran this season, I even bet it to win the Champion Hurdle, I was shocked to see it was going novice chasing, it was 12/1 for the Arkle at the time, i waited to see how it would perform before parting with more cash, I was hugely impressed, so i bet it at 8/1 and kept betting it, even after it's narrow second win, which i thought was even more impressive, i was very happy to keep betting it, I hadn't taken a lot of notice about other potential dangers at that time because I was convinced Al Ferof was the real deal, I then looked for a danger to it to back as a saver, i checked out Sprinter, so on Dec 6 I bet Sprinter with Bl Sq 10/1, watched it's first run over fences and it blew me away, so I kept on betting it too all prices down to 3/1, so I now have the two most fancied running for me and have bet the rest as savers, but my opinion now is Sprinter looks good, even although Al Ferof would be better for me, if I didn't already have a bet, I would say Sprinter is the banker of the meeting and at evens it's still a bet, cheers.

why not lay them for a bit and have the whole field winning then sit back and enjoy? If you have 12s, 10s and what not you can lay your stakes on Sprinter at evens then lay a little Al Ferof for the same liability. Be lovely green everywhere

Nice one Bairn,i did the same thing with AF but unfortunately did not with SS.
My position on the race means i have to let SS run,and have only put him in my cover Accas, which basically gives me the favs against my biggest winners, ie SS v AF,HF v Bino,BB v OW and LR v KS.
I have got some of the others in those races at reasonable prices in case,so covered quiet well.

What Judo says makes sense Bairn, and you could also just use some of your potential winnings to back the others with Paddy and get yer money back if SS wins.
Really you cannot lose mate.

thanks guys but i'm happy with my lot, I always take a view with ante-post betting, follow it through until I see good savers, then bet them to try and get my money back, Special Duty was one that worked, but Havant was a big let down last year,I only pick out certain races for my ante-post bets, races like the Grand National, Lincoln or the Ayr Gold Cup are a big no no for me, i've already taken a view on the 1000gns, Lyric of Light and Wading are my two against the field so far. cheers.
