Cedre Bleu also heading to beginners chase at winter fest so will be shocked if Sprinter Sacre is 4/7 or 2/9, n even more shocked if hacks up!

i backed him for the Supreme EW at fancy prices. Had a good look at him in the pre-parade ring and could see why NH wanted to put him away - quite narrow and I'm sure he will have filled out and matured over the summer.

Frankly I'd want 10/1 for him to run in the race at this stage. With Cue Card, Al Ferof, Peddlars Cross and Menorah all likely to be aimed at the race and chuck in the best of the irish contenders, it will be a race to savour....but they have to get there.

Does anyone know if Rock on Ruby, Get Me Out of Here or So Young will be going chasing this year? Got them on my shortlist for the Arkle

I think I rad that Rock on Ruby will start over hurdles.

Rock On Ruby looked small to me when I saw him and very much looked an out & out hurdler. Also read somewhere that he's going hurdling this season.

Well,we find out today how he tackles fences.
Should win comfortably, but its the jumping that will be watched closely.

A lot of novice chasers giving exhibition rounds in the last few months. At least Al Ferof was given a race at Sandown. Its worrying though that apart from Peddlers Cross and the Irish contenders, all of the potential Arkle horses are with Henderson or Nicholls. How many will run in March?

Doncaster a good place for him to start. Fences present a fair test but not too difficult.

won as he should, but bloody impressive for chase debut

I really do hope Sprinter Sacre, Peddlers Cross, Al Ferof and the best of the Irish make it to Cheltenham in March. All the makings of a vintage Arkle chase. SS is very bold!

I've backed him on the back of that today. Sure it was a novice chase which was weak, but he has shown enough signs from hurdling days that he will exceed his hurdles ratings over fences and at 7/1, if he lines up in March fit and well, I cant see him out the first three.

I dont think punters of PC have cottoned on yet that if ALL the main protagnonists line-up, plus whatever Ireland/Mullins has, then it is likely to be 4/1 the field anyway. The only way PC's price will shorten is if there is a significant injury to a market rival. There is no value in his current price, imo.

it is exactly how I thought it would be. Sprinter Sacre was already marked down as an Arkle contender. Beating trees 24 lengths has changed nothing other than confirming the horse can jump. Nothing new here really

Over 13 weeks before the Arkle so lots can happen before then..But looks like it could be a cracking race..Still happy to be on Peddlers at 8/1 though
By:

When: 09 Dec 11 17:32
And im more than happy to be on Al Ferof at 14.
Really, any of these 3 could win the race, dont see anything else at this stage.

Thought he jumped pretty well today for a debut and he put in a couple of really good ones.

Personally am glad Al Ferof has had harder races at harder courses, should stand him in good stead.

Think where Sprinter might struggle is if it comes down to a battle up the hill. Can see PC and AF having no trouble getting up the hill well enough, not so sure about Sprinter.

i think alf, peddlers and ss are crackers the new brigade for me.

Id have peddlers as my third choice of them three but I have been wrong before Cool

buddlea, if all 3 contest the race but don't meet beforehand, then there is no rational basis for deciding who is best. I don't buy the Sprinter won't get up the hill theory. Last year's Supreme was run in a quicker time than the Champion Hurdle and SS was given a much more considerate ride than AF.

I probably won't play until the day and may not at all. What impressed me most today was his winning time - just quicker than standard and by far the fastest run race at Doncaster by at least 8 seconds. He appeared barely out of a canter. He is very good, make no mistake but then so are Peddlers Cross and Al Ferof.....and the Irish might have something to say about it too!
By:

When: 09 Dec 11 18:37
Thats why i said any of the 3 could win the race.
I have not decided who is best. And ive not said SS wont get up the hill.
I am glad ive got Al Ferof at a nice price, but would not mind the other 2 at similar price!!
As for the hill,i see nowt wrong with being not so sure about SS as i am about a horse in PC that we know stays further and a horse in AF that shows battling qualities when needed.
Sprinter may well get up fine.Just not as sure as the others that he will.

When: 09 Dec 11 19:03
For what it's worth, I can't see AF out of the frame. I'm not on any of them at this stage, just want to see a showdown on the day and hope they stay apart (and fit and well) meantime. Mind you, I understand NH is spoiling for an early fight!

Back all 3 each way and you won't go far wrong...
