By:
cos he was beaten very easily last time out and had the run of the race and no excuses he will never beat menorah hence hes exposed
By:
Would Spirit Son or Sprinter Sacre have beaten Menorah iyo??
By:
The only way he is exposed is in the sense he has shown himself to be a very good novice. Getting beat 4l by Menorah is hardly a negative, and in pure form terms is a million miles in front of what his rivals have achieved at this stage.
By:
Don't think being beaten 4 1/2 lengths by last years Supreme winner was too bad personally!Menorah is vastly more experienced especially over hurdles than Cue Card and is unbeaten at Cheltenham
By:
how he was beaten is more important than by how far. and he was mullered.
By:
And which horses in the SN with him this year would have got closer iyo?
Sprinter Sacre beat by Frascati Park, exposed too?? |
By:
Could it be that Menorah is a seriously good horse? The talking will stop come March 15th
By:
ive no doubt that menorah is top class and imo will win the champion hurdle but like gashboy sed he was mullered by him everyone was talking him before the race saying he was this superstar but he was put in his place.who knows what SS and SS are capable off sprinter was ill vs frascati

By:
If Cue Card had been beaten by Menorah and the rest of those in behind were 130-140 rated horses i would question the form but to finish infront of the previously unbeaten Silviniaco Conti and Clerks Choice who are both 159 rated horses indicates to me that the form of the race is solid.I could not see anything in the supreme field that could of put up a performance of that calibre on what i've seen so far this year.Everyone keeps saying Cue Card will get found out but i'm yet to see what by on this years evidence
By:
^^^ agree....hate these first race bankers but i think he is a solid bet, done nothing wrong over hurdles yet and am glad tizzard has made the right choice for the horse at this stage of its hopefully long career.
By:
I don't want to force my opinion down anyones throat we all have our views and choices but i really do believe that Cue Card is an absolute bank job, just glad that there will be people prepared to lay him.
By:
The race didn't have much of a gallop, hence why others managed to finish quite so close. Menorah has relished a strong pace in the races he has won. Prior to last time he had been beaten in races with a muddling gallop. Despite this he managed he go past Cue Card in 5 strides. Menorah is very good but in truth he mullered him. As for SC, it looks as if he's more of a stayer a la Celestial Halo, and giving 4lbs to CC he still managed to finish upsides. And as for Clerk's Choice, I don't think anyone in their right mind actually believes that rating is correct. In fact, by giving that rating they have made it very very hard for a small stable to actually do anything with by miles their best horse, sad really. So anyway, my point is that that form comes with a serious health warning.

Buyer Beware!
Nicky Henderson is a master at placing horses and getting them to string together a few easy wins. But you must look at the form. Spirit Son won, in France, a Listed race for 'unraced' horses by a head. The horse he beat won a modest race afterwards but was then mullered (7th) in a Listed hurdle won by a very poor animal that had been beaten out of sight many times. Sprinter Sacre won narrowly first time out then went to Ayr, not Sandown or Cheltenham. The horse he beat a head finished 40 lengths behind Cue Card in a hurdle race. Frascati Park finished 39 lengths behind Silviniaco Conti at Chepstow and 20 lengths behind Walkon, last time out, getting a stone. Sprinter Sacre may or may not have been 100% against Frascati Park but he led over the last then tied up. It would have to be a massive, huge leap of face to find any form whatsoever where Spirit Son or Sprinter Sacre make the frame in the Supreme let alone win it. NH is good but is he that good? I seriously doubt it. |
By:
*faith, not face.
By:
At last years Festival Nicky ran Punchestowns, Burton Port, Caroles Legacy, Finians Rainbow, French Opera, Belvano, Oscar Whisky, Peveril, Quantativeasing and Riverside Theatre among others who went to Cheltenham with easy wins yet failed to win at shorter prices than they should have been.

The Form Man must have great contacts

brigust nicky looks after his horses thats why he never has a runner in the champion bumper cos its such a rough race and wrecks horses last year he done the same thing with sprinter kept him low key
i agree with what gashboy sed totally regarding cue card run last time im on sprinter sacre at 25s and im more worried about some of his stable companies than cue card |
By:
You really have got to be kidding
By:
it was one of the stable girls ballydoyle and she gave me the information just hours before the meeting with CC owners, what i posted was what CT wanted and expected to happen but the owners did not go for it,sorry guys, should have waited till after the meeting but she said that CT thought he would get there full backing and dont waste your time alvarado as there are way to many people on here who just cant read the form that is in front of them to realise that bcue card is no 2 miler, let them throw there money away on a horse who 1 billion percent FACT cant win the supreme
By:
you really are a moron. how can you say its a fact cue card can't win the supreme. just reading that makes me think your are an idiot. its 9/4 across the board. best form in the book. won over 2 miles. how can you say it wont win the supreme FACT. people like you ruin forums like this. obviously its not a certainty. but to say that it will 'FACT' not win goes against what 1000s of punters think making it a 9/4 shot. its not just that price for **** and gigs. you need to do some research my son. + cheers for the useless news that it 'fact' wont go for the supreme. you've been very helpful
By:
Very good debate lads, can i throw spanner in works for discussion.what if and i mean what if Menorah form is not as good as we led to believe and race is over rated with Cue Card.
Remember the supreme was rubbished at the time he won, even though i was on him and had fessed interest followed him all way round , i wasnt convinced he WAS future champion material then or now. That then would put question marks over form with CC ,the bookie chappies know this , that's why odds so big on a so called cert in CC. |
By:
sprinter sacre was too keen and had a documented infection before that race with frascati, if those two ever meet again, put ur house on sprinter sacre winning.
By:
if hes a decent price that is
![]() i think ss is the danger to cc. |
By:
i can easily say it cyrusdailami and i will say it again, its a FACT!!!!!! there is no debate! the FACT is that he is not a champion 2 miler,he has no pace against REAL 2 mile speed horses at this trip FACT! my research is just fine and has lead me to this FACT! why dont you go back and watch his 3 hurdle races to date and if you can read race form and have an eye for this sport you will realise the same thing moron boy.lay of the decade over 2 miles! FACT!
By:
didnt show any speed in the champion bumper last year. good luck to you chief.
By:
I wonder about peoples sanity on here at times
![]() |
By:
I worry about my own sanity. Been trying to talk myself out of it, but had a hefty bet on this beast today. I just cant look past him, even at 9/4 in the Supreme.
Everything is telling me it doesnt really make sense, but how can you not want to have a decent few quid on and cheer him home. A watching brief is dull. |
By:
Tizzard's horses were all wrong when Cue Card ran last time that is why he has changed his mind and is going straight for the Supreme.
He has only run a few times in his life and they are still learning about him. What I can say is that anyone who has not backed Cue Card will be hoping he doesn't turn up in top form because they will be playing for places only if he does. What I would like to hear is someone telling me a form line of any of the other runners that is good enough to win. |
By:
yeah but people who backed dunguib and every other fav in the past 10 years in this race would of been saying the same thing
By:
9/4 when ur exposed worst value in racing lay of the meeting if u got a horse whos 6l worse than menorah the n cue card cant win we know cue cards limit now
By:
6l worth than Menorah almost certainly wins this race.
By:
*worse
By:
uncle moo has informed that the final decision on cue card will be made after the weekend on which race to enter at cheltenham. uncle moo has backed cc for the champion hurdle at juicy odds.
favoured choice is the supreme, but the plan is to go novice chasing next season, so a crack at the champion hurdle may happen.but if cc wins the champion hurdle they would keep him on the hurdle circuit for a couple of seasons. I think uncle moo has wasted his money as I can't see cue card winning either race if entered. |
By:
'we know Cue Card's limit now'.
No we don't. If you look in the form book Menorah was beaten by Lush Life before winning the Supreme last year so you obviously knew Menorah's limit last year, Alvarado. More to the point who do you think WILL win the Supreme? |
By:
6l worth than Menorah almost certainly wins this race.
how the hell can u possibly say this u idiot i love menorah and think he,ll win the champion but who knows whats lurking in the suprme hey he might be lucky and the others might be poor but ur taken 2/1 to find out theres so many UNEXPOSED horses who could be anything we know cue cards limit now |
By:
I'll leave you to it Alvarado. I have a feeling Mayweather might be one of your other usernames tbh
By:
not realli mate just cos ive beaten you and proved u wrong u dont like it
By:
No brigust because menorah had excuses he pulled far too hard and was given a sh it ride he had genuine excuses did cue card have genuine excuses nooo he was beaten far and square by a brillant winner yes but easily beaten who knows sprinter sacre could be better than arkle who knows
im on sprinter sacre at 25s and wouldnt swap him for anything else |
By:
Indeed Alvarado.... pounded me into submission.
By:
Why on earth does Cue Card need excuses because he got beat by Menorah ffs?
Your position is contradictory. You fancy Menorah for the Champion but see no merit in Cue Card, a novice, beaten 4l by the same horse? The mind boggles. |
