Alvarado - let it go please, cue card one of the most likely Supreme favourites for many a year and still a fair price to boot.
Zaidpour a danger, though has a lot more unknowns than Cue Card, give previous run, ground, race, ability. Cue Card = Very decent bumper winner, travels, jumps, quickens, battles. Yes beat by menorah, but that may be Champion Hurdler by the end of Tuesday.... All in  |

if tizzard sends this to the Champion and not the supreme i will cry like a little girl. I just have a terrible feeling he will. He's obsessed by this idea that its going chasing next year and they will only get 1 shot at a champion hurdle. and that worries me.

seems like tizzard is going to make a late decision, going to ruin 1 of the best punting races of the festival, how can any1 now bet cue card with any confidence ,, surely the t wat could atleast come out n say if any of the main hopes in the CH dont go we may go there but the supreme/neptune is the preferred option at the mo but nooooooo ,ha to be a total ****, he knows which race hes going in

Agree with the below that its crazy to be even considering the Champion. I personally feel they have it all wrong and the Neptune is the ideal race for him. Will still back him in the Supreme mind. The form with Menorah looks tremendous in the context of novice races.

my comments on the rpsite got removed lol , i only called tizzard a c ock n a muppet for taking the piss and basically ruining 1 of the best punting races of the festival , in truth the k nob heads pi ssing around is f uking up 2 races ,, he knows which race that horse is going in so why not come out and say , theres no way your going to decide a few days before hand ,,, the tool of the week award goes to ............... What we know is it is likely to be announced the week before where Cue Card goes. We also know he is very unlikely be placed in the Champion Hurdle, this his novice season, however he has a really good chance of winning the novice race to add to his bumper win on his CV with all to play for next season as a senior.
All you do is avoid playing in the Supreme on any horse until closer to the time unless you are taking a v big price on something. He wont be winning a CHurdle so you can ignore him for that whether he goes in it or not. |

he wont beat sprinter sacre in the suprme. there is not alot l agree with you on alvarado but this l do. his time at ffos las yesterday was very good without been asked a question. l dont think cue card will win either the supreme or the champion as l think he may just get done for toe at a crucial stage. l'll be happy laying the likely 2/1 he will be on the day.

Cue Card will need to be ridden up with the lead in the Supreme to cover any moves as if he is up there he will out-travel anything in the race imo. He doesnt want to try and close down something that has broken several lengths clear a couple out but if he is kept up there he could win comfortably.

first supreme novice hurdle fav for a long time that i think is a great bet,normally oppose the first race fav but this year i see nothing to put me off him...zaidpour is a player but i think he'll go the neptune(barring bingham) myself.

I'd say he'll be going fencing next season so they feel this is their only shot at a champion hurdle, still doesn't make it the right thing to do though.

yesterday b4 zaidpour/hidden universe run , cue card was trading around 3.75 now they both get stuffed and cue card is still trading at the same price , how ?
i know there is still some doubt as to which race but surely even them tizzards wont make the mistake and think they can win the ch,, |

so lets see if theres any movements this week, i rememeber last year with dunguib it was like a yoyo when a decision was going to be made ,,,
on rp website: Tizzard added that a decision on Supreme Novices' favourite Cue Card's Festival target - either the Champion Hurdle or Supreme Novices' , both backed by Stan James - will be made later in the week. |

They should put their stamp on the Supreme it may deflect others from the race rather than leaving the decision late and facing a full turnout of the opposition.

Cue Card needs to be up with the lead to hold off challengers keeping the pace high imo.

Cue card has a fantastic chance in the SNH i totally agree that it will need to be up with the pace all the way and the BIG doubt i have is the callibre of the jockey in a big race.

Unless I am sadly mistaken the first time Cue Card took on decent horses at anything remotely close to te pace they go in the Supreme Hurdle he stopped like shot.
Anyone who takes 3/1 about a horse who blatantly looked like a non stayer has got to be bonkers. If he had pulled away from the 3rd who he was hacking over coming down the hill, you'd have to say he was simply outclassed by a better horse and would still be a live danger to all at Cheltenham but he was bouncing up and down on the same spot going nowhere. Menorah is fast but he was made to look a lot faster than he is when Cue Card all but grinded to a halt. Colin Tizzard must have recogonised the stamina problem, why else would he put him away in the hope of him strenthening up. The big question is is he going to come back stronger and if so will he filled out enought to see out what is one of the toughest races at the mmeting to win. Cue Card has speed but he lacks stamina and on the day too many of these will be just as fast but are more lekly to see the race out all the way to the line. Spirit Son won't be stopping that's for sure and 8/1 about him is much better value. |

 Earlier in the thread all he did is stay Anyway the form of his last run is head and shoulders above anything but do agree if one turns him over it will be Spirit Son Menorah A Supreme Novice winner and won the Greatwood off Top Weight - unbeaten at Chelt - now rated 164 Silviano Conti a dual G2 winner easily beating Karabak by 7l who went on to win a G2 hurdle at Chelt nto now rated 162 Even the 4th and 5th who were well beaten are rated 155 and 152 I just dont see how any one can question the form- it was only Cue Cards 3rd run over hurdles and he was hardly disgraced - showed form far superior to any other horse that is likely to run in the SN (so far on track) and has valuable course form Key Trends (includes 2010 Festival) 12 of the last 14 winners won last time out. Only 6 favourites have won in the last 31 runnings and none in the last 6 years. 7 out of the last 10 winners were Irish-trained. 10 of the last 11 winners ran in the previous 45 days. 8 of the last 19 Supreme winners had just two prior runs over hurdles. Saying that the stats are nt with him but the stats are there to be changed  I have gone through this race in detail and the Irish unfortunately have nothing that can win imo And it looks a 3 horse race between the horse with proven form Cue Card, and the 2 Henderson horses Sprintre Sacre and Spirit Son. Sprintre Sacre was impressive in winning last time out but only did what he should have done at 2/9f and was arguably disapointing the time before when bein beaten by Frascati Park at Ascot (that was over 2m3 1/2 so worth forgiving?) Spirit Son is the one i am very interested in now - 3 wins have come on Heavy, very soft and soft though so the ground may be a worry come Chelt?? His win yesterday was one of the best all season by a novice - conceding 12lbs to Cedre Bleu who was coming off a 10l win over Titian De Sarti himself and demolishing him hard held by 21l Overall i think Cue Card is the clear form choice and standard bearer and if confirmed for the race doubt he will be anything near 3/1 on the day - the only one i think could beat him is Spirit Son( was lookin at the last of the 8/1 at Spoils wen typing this and gone to 7s[>o]) One outsider to note maybe Magens Star at 50/1+ - effortless wins in her 2 hurdles races over here, needs some cut in the ground which she should get on the tuesday (if bein aimed at the race???) 1. Cue Card 2.Spirit Son 3. Magens Star (if running) Sprintre Sacre if not) Would be my thoughts on de matter |

Rondetto, you do realise it was a relative crawl they went at in the International? Whereas, when a fast gallop was set in his novice hurdle race at Cheltenham, he appeared full of running after sprinting clear of Dunraven Storm? Now, you might not rate Dunraven Storm but Cue Card proved he could kick off a strong pace set at Cheltenham. They did it in an exceptional time as well. All the International proved was that Menorah has more speed than Cue Card. Of course he is still so inexperienced as well. If you think that race highlighted stamina problems you better re-think.

Unbelievable that there are still people on here who think that cue card is still a 2 mile horse,do you even look back at his race replays or just watch them once when live and pretend you seen something special when in fact it is the most obvious thing in the world to see that he needs further and has no finishing kick over the trip

He will be kept near the lead in the Supreme imo as he can outcruise them, may be a head in chest win if the jockey doesnt give him too much to do.

it will be exactly the same story as the INTERNATIONAL,cruise round with his head in his chest till rounding the home bend where the real 2 milers challenge him and tizzard pushes the button and finds nothing and the horses running at there proper distance leave him for dead up the run in
