Not a novice after today, think they'll stay over hurdles for this season based on that.

Erm, isn't captain Chris the one going chasing and only eligible for novices till the end of this month. The horse the thread is named after is a novice eligible for the seasons novice hurdle championship races

PFN doesn't have a champion hurdle horse (unless you count Sanctuaire) so assume this would be his hope now. Still got a lot of improving to do, but you never know, I guess.

getting very carried away i think.the betting told you captain chris needed the run badly he should of been a 1/2 shot yet it touched almost 9/4 and was hardly given a hard time was he

Looked a horse capable of running in a decent all aged hurdle race already to me...

Seen worse 100/1 shots for the Champion.

What has Hell's Bay got to do with anything?!

Looked really impressive and jumped sublimely, can't agree enough with a previous poster who said he just floated over his hurdles. Really keen to see more of him.

ah yeah. its ok. i was very impressed by the performance and i think they shud go for the challow hurdle with him. frascati park must be the mos frustrating horse to train ever
By:
Joist
When: 27 Oct 10 08:44
The Challow is a novices' hurdle so he won't be eligible if what's posted above is correct.
By:

When: 27 Oct 10 10:43
rated 153 now. They might send him against Clerks Choice in the 4 yo hurdle at haydock. He would have a stiff task in the Greatwood off that mark
By:
revedesivola
When: 27 Oct 10 11:03
oh yeah sh1t. so he cant go for a novice with him at cham then.hmm. id go for the 2 and a half mile race then but maybe the field will be huge because its a novelty

SILVINIACO CONTI, who earned rave reviews when winning the Grade 2 Totesport.com Persian War Novices' Hurdle by ten lengths last month, is set to take on more established opposition at Ascot on Saturday.

The Paul Nicholls-trained French import has yet to be beaten in four outings, but will be tested like never before if upped in class for the Grade 2 Coral Hurdle at Ascot, in which last year's six-length winner Zaynar, former Champion Hurdle winner Katchit, Alan King-trained stablemate Karabak and Restless Harry also figure among the 16 entries.

Zaynar, part-owned by bookmaker Victor Chandler, has been installed 9-4 favourite for the Ascot contest by Coral, which makes Silviniaco Conti next best at 4-1.

Silviniaco Conti has a second-choice engagement at Haydock in the track's Betfair-sponsored four-year-olds' hurdle, where the horse to beat would be Clerk's Choice, who stormed up the rankings to a BHA rating of 162 after thrashing Barizan - also in the Haydock race - at Cheltenham in October.

Haydock's other big hurdle on Saturday, a valuable fixed brushhandicap, has attracted 36 horses, none with more recent winning form than Grands Crus. He is expected to carry a penalty after justifying stable and market confidence at Cheltenham on Sunday.

Coral Hurdle
Sponsors bet: 9-4 Zaynar, 4 Silviniaco Conti, 5 Karabak, 6 Sentry Duty, 10 Won In The Dark, 14 Katchit, Restless Harry, 20 Ashkazar, Duke Of Lucca, 25 Alegralil, Kayf Aramis, Tasheba, 33 Black Jack Blues, Lough Derg, 50 Arcalis, 66 Afsoun.

This horse is in no way a Champion Hurdler.

Market is up for the race on Saturday, btw.

I rarely get carried away (was impressed at Chepstow) but that looked very very good.

Jumped like an old hand - sky's the limit, but what trip?

Honestly what i believe... He's a Kauto Star. Champion Chase, Gold Cup will win either in time.

Run him over 2 miles and see how he gets on. Nothing to lose.
By:

When: 20 Nov 10 15:01
His jumping is just sublime, absolutely cruises over his hurdles as if they're not even there. If you watch the jockey, he barely even moves when he jumps, such is his fluency. A really exciting hoss.

Would like to see him on an undulating track before i'd even consider the 10/1 for March.

But he surpised me today, thoroughly progressive.
