I doubt the connections campaigning of the horse will be influenced in any way by bets Nick Luck may or may not have had. Race plan will be dictated by what happens on the racecourse.

Well it could have an influence in certain circumstances imo if it was to generate a ground swell of similar opinion with the wide audience reached via racings number one media outlet.

The thing that will most influence a ground swell of similar opinion would be if he won the Bula. I like Menorah's chances personally but could n't be too dogmatic about it. Keep thinking Cue Card has only had 4 races in his life and only two over hurdles. So he could be absolutely anything but equally might not turn out to be quite as good as I (and others) think.

Yes every horse has its limit at such an early stage of his career this could get Cue Card mentally, horses can often lose confidence when beaten, especially when he is an inexperienced novice it could affect his chances in the Supreme if he gets stuffed as is likely imo in a very competitive Bula.

If they take on and beat novices on the way to the Festival he would be going there all guns blazing. The Bula will scupper his chances in both imo.

If connections really do think he is a Gold Cup horse in the making, what are the chances of it being the fastest horse over hurdles over two miles?!  Most champion bumper winners end up being better over further than the minimum distance don't they?

how the hellcan u say hes a lot btter than dunguib was .this time last season everyone thought dunguib was a freak and they have done exactly the same at this stage of there careers

im a doubter still ive seen these types of horses before not go on and just cos he beat a horse he beat27l last season then comes back and beats the same horse 10l hes not the next arkle for me and i cant have him at all for this weekend or any race at the festival

Because hes rated about 20lb better at the same stage, and the most important factor he can "JUMP"...

DO NOT GO ON RATINGS THEY ARE 1 PERSONS OPIONON

dunraven storm is rated a 150 yet his far better stablemate who actually won the suprme MENORAH was rated 151 work that out.when menorah could beat dunraven with 3 legs.and clerks choice 162 was rated just 10Lb below the mighty inglis drever ever was 172.

this time last season they had done the same winning easily against horses they beat easily last season

Cue Card is quick over the hurdles. There is no doubt in my mind on that. If it were untrue there is no way he could have posted a time quick enough to win a normal supreme on only his second run over them.

Marvinho, Dawn Run won the champion hurdle and gold cup. A unique feat.

i disagree he is brilliant over 'them'.

put it this way, CC has a much better chance of winning the CH than sea moon does of winning the guineas

cue cards jumping is not 100% under pressure. see 3/4 from home last race, its a lay.

You're a hard man to please irish. It didn't slow him down to my eyes. Make the most of your good horses now, their ability over the years tends to reflect the economy, and we'll make the most of ours thanks.

If they really do see him as a future chasing star and are definitely going chasing next season 'no matter what' then maybe they should just aim at the Supreme or Ballymore - just like Best Mate, Denman, Kicking King etc, as this seesm to be the best education for future chasers.

I can't remember the last subsequent top class chaser who had run in a champion hurdle - even the top 2 mile chasers of the last 20 years like Remittance Man, Marthas Son, Viking Flagship, Moscow Flyer, Azertiyoup, Flagship Uberalles etc never ran in a Champion Hurdle.

Based on the above post I think maybe Willie Mullins had the right idea when he sent Florida Pearl straight over fences.

Dawn Run - 2nd in a Sun Alliance(Neptune),Champion Hurdle winner, and possibly bravest Gold Cup winner of all time....not saying Cue Card is as special but it can be done if horse is exceptional....know a lot more after Saturday...Menorah an interesting yardstick to Dunguib from last years Supreme.

menorah has improved since then though hasant he and the race will not suit menorah at all

leave sea moon alone will he is as equally promising as cue card but so far they have both beaten NOTHING

I take the point re Dawn Run but surely the fact she was the last to do it shows how rare it is.  Not saying its impossible, just unlikely and as a punter we're always dealing in probabilities.

what a 7l beating off a 3m chaser in al ferof yeah brillant form.menorah is a top class horse i just hope cue card can set a good gallop for him and give him a lead to the last and then he,ll sprint away from him and be champ hurdle fav
By:

When: 08 Dec 10 07:49
i like Menorah and think he will win on Saturday if the race suits, but beating CC and SC does not mean he should be fav for the CH,imo.
By:

When: 08 Dec 10 08:35
Menorah needs a fast pace and Silviniaco Conti should provide that. Sit in behind with Cue Card, Silv may not shake both off then when they quicken up Cue Card's hurdling under pressure is tested for the first time and he could easily make a mistake because if any horse can battle them out of it, it is Menorah. Menorah can make the odd mistake but he has proven he can recover from them whereas a novice hits one and the chances are they will lose their rhythm or reduce to empty very quickly in a high class race.

By:

captain christy.

I'll guess at L'Escargot. Despite his name he was quick enough to win the Irish Champion Hurdle so could easily have been placed at Cheltenham.

Ribero is right, CC was 3rd to Comedy of Errors and Easby Abbey
