thanx for the input ben.

Money for the Callaghan runner in the first at Windsor is noted. Nicely bred firm ground horse who is sure to improve.
By:
quite like jeannie johnston in the 2.20 nket dont think the dunlop horse will like the going.
By:
just outside standard defo fast at windsor.

What do you think about One Cool Cats tlp? I find a lot of them have better form on soft but you'd expect them to be best on firm?
By:
Agree with you on the Burke horse though, Vanishing Grey the danger.
By:
Nice work brad think you got the forecast up there!
By:
well done brad.
ben i think one cool cats are a bit quirky and to be honest im not 100 per cent sure what ground they want . as you say some like soft and some like fast . |
By:
Agree, not been hugely impressed with what he's produced anyway given his support so doubt we'll need to worry too much!

I play cricket on Saturday afternoons and didn't do the forecast in 2.30 Wind. Internet offline due to outage since 8.00pm sat night till now.
Ben and Lay Preacher - thanx for the input. My op on One Cool Cat to add to the debate is that they are often temperamental. They don't seem to improve either with experience. His figures for 2-y-o's have done nothing but fall since his quick start last April / May. Bit like Daggers Drawn did a few years ago. Early precocity but no progression. Will have a look at 4.00 Wolv and 6.40 Wind and post later |
By:
i take it you mean the 4.30 brad.
i think of the 2 favs i would say bradbury will handle the surface better i might be tempted to do it in the avb market. will be odds against. a lot of people think because it is all weather at wolver there is plenty cut in the ground i would say the track rides like a good to firm surface 9 times out of 10. i have a feeling dascombe is sending his horse here for some cut.the reason i would back it in the avb is just in case there is something unexposed in the field. the reason i would be against dascombes horse is that having lomond as a damsire it is quite a strong influence for soft ground. |
By:
Agree with you about the AvB tlp. I like Bonfire Night of the first time out ones, quite an expensive purchase by the yard and the tongue tie suggests this is more than just a warm up. Other one I like is Motivational, on debut I said that he'd be suited by further but was disappointed by him on his reappearance, never really went on. The step up in trip is defnitely worth a try though. I'd like to see him settled right at the back, a lot of Montjeus need that so might be the answer to get him to run his race. How do you think he'll act on the track?
By:
ben i think bonfire knight will defo handle track .
motivational is a motivator ben not a montjeu. i would be surpised if he handled the expected fast ground. if bonfire knight is off it will be a big danger to all. |
By:
Cheers tlp, Motivator is a son of Montjeu (as I'm sure you know), I figured he might have passed on some of his lesser traits.
By:
off out now lads good luck .
catch up with you later. |

AW tracks. I analysed my data for each track by lookign at what type of 2-y-o sires do well at each track and I agree Wolves is like GF as is Ling.
Gt.Leighs and Kempton v.similar but slower than the above Southwell Soft |
By:
4.30 Wolv
Coloursoftheglen - I think Lay Preacher u r right although its form is good enough Bradford - form good enough but Pyrus yet to have a 2-y-o winner at Wolves. Motivational - regressed lto and agreed there is doubt about going. Newcomers: No.2: 0 0 No.5: 0 -1 No.8: ? -1 No.10: +1 0 I am interested in No 10 Bandear and in No 2 Bonfire Night for small stakes. |

6.40 Wind
Intriguing race The three form horses are ok (No2,4 and 9) but nothing special and hard to decide who will beat who (Jessica Hayler is my pick from these). Newcomers No.1: -1 -1 No.3: 0? 0 No.5: +1 +1 No.6: 0 0 No.8: 0 0 No.10: 0 +1 No.5 and No.10 for me. I know they are currently weak in market but I will take a chance at double figure prices. |

Would really want to see some money for Yurituni, Harry**and the EJH stable both like a punt and I'd expect one of them to influence the market. Nicely bred though. Don't fancy the Hannon things, would have thought they will be better over further. Polish Steps interesting but again the pedigree isn't really speedy. I think the Haggas horse should step up on her previous effort, as a breeze up purchase (I think) she must have shown a fair bit to justify her price tag. Might have a play on her.

By:
what race today lads.

The Hamilton maiden looks pretty straightforward for the Bryan Smart horse. His form behind Mark Johnston's Capercaille means MJ has a line on him and the fact there's little money for his horse mean nothing's really expected. Any thoughts on the 7:00 at Thirsk? I don't think that looks competitive either.
By:
exgray looks nailed on ben the only possible danger is johnston and there has not been a penny for it.
exgray will love this fast ground as well. |
By:
ballodair looks the one in the 7.00 ben they have had a lot of rain in that area and have changed the ground to good and it could well be
softer . ballodair being out of an effisio mare will love this ground. |
By:
Agreed on Exgray and Balladoir
By:
Exgray just about won I see! Thirsk I initially had between Ballodair and Call To Arms, if you're right about the rain then I definitely agree the Fahey horse is the one of those two to be on. Assumed Gillburg had a problem and he might need a run, that said his debut has worked out really well with all the top 4 except him going on to do well in Listed company. Think for that reason I'll leave the race alone.
By:
Nothing today for me
By:
me neither.
By:
Yeah not much really is there? Thought Larkrise Star may be overpriced in the 6:50, looks a poor maiden and he should improve on his debut enough to have place claims. The first at Catterick is interesting because technically the favourite shouldn't be a maiden so people are backing him on that basis, I think there are at least 3 who could potentially take him on so perhaps he's a lay.

No great opinions today either - what a boring week!

In the 1990s I waited more than a month until I found an offspring of a certain sire running on heavy. The horse had terrible form (Don't Cry was its name I think). I backed it at 66/1 each way, and it came fourth, getting up in the last yards. Four places paid. I looked this up on the Racing Post website. It was a seventeen runner class F 12f handicap at Newcastle on heavy ground on 02/11/1992. It was ridden by Claire Balding. "Held up in mid-division, headway over 2f out, stayed on, never able to challenge" ... btn 13 1/2 /engths. The sire of Don't Cry was Dominion. |

dominions love it heavy kinscem.
one of the few that do. |

ben brad any of you about
By:
Yeah, what's this fancy you got today then?
By:
i suggest you have a couple of quid on beckets horse in the 8.40 at
salisbury. the best price was 12s at hills. |
By:
Interesting one, bit of money about for it, what made you pick it out?
By:
i never picked it m8 but i know a man who knows a man so to speak.
i reckon it will go off favourite. |
By:
Ah right, thought it was a tricky one to pick out on form alone, might send a few quid it's way, cheers. Any maidens you fancy today?
By:
no ben but i really fancy 2 today .
alanbrooke in the 5.05 at sandown.and charminamix in the 8.50 at bellewstown. |
