So which horse was it aimed at Lets?
By:
if you can't handle a proper interdominion series chante you don't belong in it, its as simple as that.
By:
Fair enough. But i ask you again.
Which horse were you referring to as a "powderpuff" ? |
By:
Which horse has ever not handled the series? Most race 3times in 3 weeks outside of the inter
By:
Best Comment you have ever made Lets.
100% The LloydyTrotsman Cup will be a Bigger race than Inter in Future. 1st prize is a Ribbon. Lloydy |

By:
Plenty of horses have failed to handle the heat, the continual back up during the series etc, etc and not been able to produce their best throughout the series.

When you think about it just how many holes are there in this baastardised concept???
1. Heats were not run over comparable distances, absolutely ridiculous why not run some heats from stands while you're at it rather than from the mobile. 2. Winners don't have to run in the final i.e. Forever Gold, I don't blame the owners for taking advantage of this loophole they have every right to place their horse to its best advantage where it can actually earn. 3.You have some heats being run with all runners off the front and other with a front line and a backline hardly a level playing field for all runners in each state. 4. NSW horses have an unfair advantage with two heats run there as does Vic with three placegetters automatically qualifying. At the very least force everyone to come to the host state if you want to compete in the Inters and run the heats there under universal conditions which although it still gives NSW trained horses an advantage is about as close to equitable as you're going to get under the current bastaardised system. 5 heats 1-2 qualify and four wildcards. |
By:
The last point is crazy, you have to align the qualification criteria with getting the best horses in the final, which means allocating based on depth. By your own admission WA should only have one spot allocated as you claim the second horse is going like a "busted"
By:
Old System cant beat.
They stuffed up when messing around with it. Last time it was Old System Perth. Best Horses made it Huge Crowds. Heats over 2200-2400 Yet Final is over 3000mt Like u said 6 horse fields 2 mae it 12 horse fields 2 make it. 3 Heats over different distances Fittest survives, Best Horse nearly always wins. Bring Back the Trotters as well have running same night except only 2 heats. |
By:
We all love the old system Lloydy, and I wish it was still in existance, but the reality is too many horses don't go, especially when in NZ or Perth. That last Perth series was a bit of a joke, so little depth as only half a dozen from NZ/eastern Australia wanted to go. It wasn't much better than a glorified WA FFA in the final and most of those horses are very average at best. Unfortunately, it wasn't working any more, and races like the Miracle Mile/Vic Cup had completely taken over from the Inter, which is sad

Seriously doubt that CB could have sat outside and beaten, Bettors Fire a brilliant front runner, for the majority of the trip in the Fremantle Cup having come from second last and won the race over 2536m mile rating 1.56.5 with quarters of 29.5,29,28.2,28.5. It would have had to get around GP for starters against a field with arguably more depth than than the SA Cup.
I'm Victorious was also narrowly btn out of 3rd in the Miracle Mile by For A Reason after that horse had a charmed run throughout on the back of the leader while Victorious after drawing near the outside sat four back the fence in the run. H'mm didn't For A Reason then win your great race the Vic Cup soon afterwards beating, well blow me down it beat CB didn't it, after I'm Victorious which was absolutely bolting ran smack into the back of Restrepo at the top of the straight thanks to the imbecile driving it and all but fell. All of this in Victorious's first season in open class and on the grand circuit, yeah have to agree its a real cat. Just for good measure in one of the most amazing performances I've seen at GP for a long time, a performance reminiscent of Quinnie's Inters final win there, I'm Victorious was completely ripped up by Prentice who set it what should have been a completely impossible task in the Golden Nugget coming from 3rd last at the 550m after chancellor cullen who was then one of your best if not your best 4yo's had cruised around to the breeze when they were walking mid race and was completely controlling the race, quarters 31.2,31.2,28.8 and 28.3 mile for the 2506m mile rate 1.58.4. Yes I'm also well aware of Cb's impressive Vic Cup win after getting a lovely cart up and having the race run to suit in which he beat home Mah Sish & Quinnie who was used out of the gate before eventually restraining mid race to sit behind the leader, (and on paper quinnie had the perfect run but was never as effective when used early) quarters were 30, 28.7, 29.2, and 28.5 mile rate 1.53.7. Hard to argue though I would have thought that I'm Victorious is not a rising star based upon what he has already achieved in just a few starts at the elite level. |

No AD, Hokonui Ben or David Hercules with good draws would have been more worthy representatives than livingontheinterest, there is no doubt that both of those horses win given the same run in front that livingontheinterest had last night. The leader got a 60 nearly 61 second first half and still couldn't find the line after doing nothing to find the front in the first place, so yes it again went well below its best and Victorious was good but not great.
By:
Victorious was good but not great
You posted he was "huge" last night? |
By:
Hokonui actually went pretty good under the circumstances.
By:
He was huge to actually get up as he's not that sort of horse really.
I'm also hoping that they had something left in the tank fitness wise which I also posted last night. He will need luck in the final in my view after watching the replay a number of times last night as I think I also posted on here. I would have liked to see him run through the line better than he did but he also did a bit early to find the breeze and working early without being on the pegs isn't really his go in life at this stage of his career but that doesnt detract fromthe fact that he was huge to actually get up. If he can find his very best he'll be ultra competitve otherwise he's going to need luck as in my view he's still racing below his vest best, having had a far from ideal prep due to circumstances. He nearly fell in the Vic Cup, endured a hard run in the Fremantle Cup and just one week later a very hard run in the Pacing Cup having dragged a flat tyre for 2700 of the 2900m trip. All of this occurred after having had to travel home from Vic no doubt when a bit battered and bruised after the Vic Cup drama. |

Be a 50/50 Market Im Victorious Vs Caribbean Blaster on Race day
Aussie Vs Lets Perth Vs Adel (drivers) |
By:
You will find that that's the only time Bettors fire has been beaten when leading since he came to WA. CB's a very nice horse but in all proabiility is at his level, victorious at times has shown the potential to go to a quinny type level whether he can even reach that and maintain that level is debatable but he's making a good fist of it so far.
There were plenty on here who used to knock quinny for the same reason. Elite horses win Ballarat Cups after having everything possible pan out for them CB got out in enough time if good enough having never had to go around another horse and not done a tap in the run while both the winner and the 2nd horse had worked in the run. Dexter went after Smoken Up too early as he always had his measure and CB still couldn't run them down. Like the very good driver he is Dexter quickly learned from that error and didn't make the same mistake in the Hunter Cup the following week when he drove a more tactically astute race, apart from that error Dexter had driven an almost perfect race in the Ballarat Cup. CB's a very good but not an elite horse he's like a Washakie, he's a level above him again but below what a Christen Me or a Beautide already is or is going to be. CB is till going to be competitive in a big race and might even win another one when the breaks go his way and everything pans out perfectly and will continue to be competitive but he's never going to dominate. Christen Me, Beautide and yes in glimpses Victorious has shown that sort of potential. its easy to forget that Victorious should have gone very close in the Chariots with a competent drive and if he had you would be singing a different tune. |
By:
In a two horse race victorious would beat him every time he'd just trail him and then outsprint him.

By:
Can't stop laughing at your posts. It seems all these defeats Im Victorious has had there has been an excuse, amazing.
And fancy comparing Bettors Fire to Carribean Blaster. I am serious when I say stick to the gallops, you are way out of your depth here |
By:
I would think its pretty rich to suggest that Carribean Blaster is categorically one of the best three horses all season.
Beautide has to be ahead of it as does Christen Me and TTL you could also argue that Victorious is as well, it got an invite to the MM and ran well, CB didn't, both have won a Grand Circuit event this season, Victorious has contested 4 GC events this season been knocked out of one and effectively knocked out of another when it carried a flat tyre for 9/10th's of the 2900m trip finished 4th in a miracle mile from an outside draw and sat in the breeze for the majority of the race to win the fremantle Cup 2500m in 1.56.5 CB in a very good performance sat three wide for the last 950m outside Smoken Up a light of other days, to win the 2230m SA Cup in 1.57.7, different nights, tracks, opposition etc but still a slower time over a shorter trip against a pensioner in Smoken Up in quarters of 30.7, 30.1, 28.8 and 28.2 and that was after they went reasonably hard early and CB sat back staying out of all the early action. CB has also at least had a competent driver for all of its runs Victorious has only had a competent driver for two of its GC events. Plenty of evidence there to suggest that the gap between them is nowhere near as big as you seem to believe it is AD. |
By:
Can you raise any more excuses that are not performance based in your posts to support your view?
The fact is one is a very speedy and very good horse who is completely unproven at the top level. The Fremantle Cup is a rubbish race full of Perth horses who are grades below the best around. The other has been right in the finish of almost every big race this season. Only the one eyed biased could come up with your view that Im Victorious belongs in the top bracket and CB doesn't. Every decent harness judge is laughing at that. And Bettors Fire ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() feck me you need to learn that bias only loses you money |
By:
Go back and watch the replays AD and you might actually learn something about the horse, its in the stewards report Victorious carried a flat tyre in the Pacing Cup and even you couldn't deny it all but fell when bolting in the Vic Cup, shocking drive in the chariots and equally shocking in the Vic cup not excuses just plain and simple facts. If our racing is so weak why don't the likes of Cb come over and contest the Fremantle Cup and Pacing Cup instead it targets a lesser race in the $125,000 SA Cup against arguably lesser opposition.
Fremantle and the Pacing Cup two races here up for grabs in the space of a week worth a total stake in excess of $650,000, I wonder why they didn't target them if as you say our racing is so weak and CB is so clearly superior to Victorious. |
By:
Think you'll find that Bettors Fire will continue to improve with a good break and develop into a nice horse, he's come a long way in a very short period of time.

Go back and watch the replays AD That's what I do, all day every day. You don't if you are covering gallops as well. Simple as that |
By:
I'll give you the benefit of the grave doubt that you completely misunderstood what I was saying there when I said "You will find that that's the only time Bettors fire has been beaten when leading since he came to WA. CB's a very nice horse but in all probability is at his level, victorious at times has shown the potential to go to a quinny type level whether he can even reach that and maintain that level is debatable but he's making a good fist of it so far.
that probably wasn't expressed quite correctly what I was stating is that Cb is at its highest level while Victorious still has the untapped potential to go another level so don't try to be a smart arrse and twist my words mate you knew exactly what I was talking about and that I wasn't comparing bettors fire to CB, you only make yourself appear more petty by such a pathetic transparent attempt to detract from a logical argument if you haven't made an honest mistake which I severely doubt. I didn't know what the hell you on about there for a while. |
By:
You were indeed attempting to compare Bettors Fire with Carribean Blaster, you said very clearly he could not outside him and beat him. He would beat him by half a lap. You are ridiculously biased and delusional.
No point arguing with you about WA horses your knowledge of harness racing is way too limited and the WA horses are always the best in your eyes |
By:
Fark off mate You knew exactly what I was saying but chose to be a smart arrse as per usual I clearly qualified what I was saying about victorious who is currently a superior horse to bettors fire and I said that that he beat a very good emerging horse in bettors fire so don't try that absolute bullshiit on me mate as you're coming across as an even bigger **** than normal.
By:
i love how you bring up chancellor cullen being beaten by IV - as though the week before when the result was reversed didnt occur
how about nowitski and chili palmer LE, what did you make of their runs? no bettors fire i suppose |
By:
Lets Elope • February 16, 2014 6:02 AM GMT
Seriously doubt that CB could have sat outside and beaten, Bettors Fire That is exactly what you said. You are now simply a liar |
By:
Yes he couldn't have sat outside him and beat him at GP currently that is the only part of that conversation that you have actually got correct, there wouldn't be too many around who could.
Cb would have to travel, settle in and adapt to GP but that is vastly different from stating that Bettors fire is a better horse than CB. Where the fark do you get that from??? Bettors fire couldn't sit outside CB and beat him either, if you actually watch GP at all on a regular basis which I severely doubt, judging by your ignorance of the current GP conditions, you would know that at the moment if you have any ability at all and lead comfortably you're 3/4 of the way home already. Why do you think virtually without exception every likely leader at GP is being very well backed and as a result a large number of horses are going around ridiculously under the odds, quite a few are getting away with it because of the current track set up but there are also a fair few who still aren't good enough to win and are getting btn at massive unders. |
By:
bettors fire would be scraped off the track if he had to sit outside CB, whats your point?
By:
So if you just lead and win at GP as you are suggesting, I fail to see your point as well. Just looks mindless dribble to me
By:
I backed Menslaus of sparta on that very basis on friday night even though he's not going as well as he had been going a couple of months back, because he drew the pole and was actually value at 6 bucks. He still had to put in close to a career best (when leading) performance to win, that's why for the very same reason I was all over the 1.60 Pacific Warrior on the same program because I thought it would start around about 1.30 and was unbeatable upon leading, he only led by the narrowest of margins and I still don't know he held up in the end but once in front he was never going to get btn, the pole and or leading comfortably at GP is a massive advantage currently.
By:
Rather than hear some more aftertiming I would be more interested in what your point was re Bettors Fire, because I can't work out what your actual point was if you were not trying to compare him to a horse like CB
By:
sure is an interesting inter market
Beautide was pretty awful last night at best, IV is completely untested at this level and Smolda hasnt run at this level yet they are the first three favs |
By:
My point is that AD as per usual is trying to twist my words to suit his argument and it's pathetic, please state where I've ever said BF is a horse than CB!!!
What I actually said and I stand by it is that I severely doubt whether CB could have sat outside BF and beaten him that is as I have already stated vastly different from stating he's a better horse than CB and AD well and truly knows that but instead chose to be a smart arrse. On top of that, he then has the audacity to call me a liar!!! That is rich. The GP example was to highlight how difficult it is to sit outside a leader of any ability that gets a comfortable run in front currently, I would have thought that was patently obvious what I was highlighting but maybe not. |
By:
So what is your point? How on earth is that relevant to this Inter final? Completely irrelevant in my view but maybe you can enlighten me, I was pretty sure Bettors Fire was not running.
And there is no way CB wouldn't sit outside him and beat him over a staying trip, which is the race you referred to. CB would massacre him. In saying he wouldn't it to suggest Bettors Fire would win a Vic Cup, be runner up in another, and be beating a pimple in a Hunter Cup. Umm ................ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
