I was responding to it with a contradictory opinion. Our sport is RACE BLIND and appeals to all people of all socioeconomic situations. Nor are 95% of the people of Western Sydney on the dole, nor do they all drive fast cars, and nor do they all live in Gov't housing.

I sent this as an email to a Carlton Mad fan who thinks our list is fantastic.
I cut and paste on her and should of edited it.

But when i was in West Syd not 1 shop sold AFL stuff, the papers are lucky to have a tiny article on AFL.
Also every kid plays soccer in that area. The only place i see people kicking a AFL ball is when im on the Buss going past the SCG and see the swans training outside and nobody watching them train.
Its going to b a 20-30 years experiment. But thy will be gifted a Flag in 4 years.
I was working in a very large Company and not 1 person spoke about AFL its frightening.

Sydney Swans even when they are flying cant pack out a game.
Should of been more marketing on them on Canberra based team even Tassie.
Not Gift a side a Flag and expect everybody to Jump on.

depends on your gambling philosophies ugly....i think if you going along alright i'd hold on for a couple of weeks more (hard to see the blues beating collingwood this time around)but if you really are desperate for cash then you can't afford the unlikely possibility that the rivalry brings something out of carlton that seems gone this year.

also ugly as Lloydy well knows I have been involved with a few of the boys at carlton for years,
love my blues always, but am disappointed the way things have turned out and would clearly like to see them change.

rightly or wrongly i guess most of the footy world are happy the blues are struggling as for a long time many at the club did stick it to opposition more than was necessary and that has come to bite us on the bum a bit.

Ill never forget 1am in the morning we were at a Restaurant in St Kilda. Kouta come Running over gave you the biggest Hug. You introduced me to him. Gee he still looks super fit after watching him tonight.

Really like Fevs attitude and so pleased he has turned his life around. This all could of been fixed when he was at young age at the Club.

Lloydy if I misinterpreted what you said I apologise. even as opposition player I loved watching Kouta play I still remember that game at Princes Park where he singlehandedly tore the heart out of the Eagles and took it upon himself to somehow pull the game out of the fire for Carlton, he was nigh on unstoppable prior to his knee injury.

Fev wasnt the only one in house doing the wrong thing. It was Most of the BOYs elder players and past players Club. Punting, Girls, Drinking, i wont mention Drugs but dont have to be a Rocket Scientist. So much Cash splashed around, players doing what they want and Money just Shoved in Boys pockets. Also not Educated from having $100 week as a kid to possible $5000 a week. Party time. Other Clubs the same Carey just a quick example. You mainly here of High profile players and Press love it. Sells papers.
Also Football Clubs Cultures have completely Changed from when Fev and Carey 1st started playing, to how they are run now.
Yes Fev would of been hard to manage. Footy Show was no help. Every cent he was payed was well worth it to them and the sponsors. Negative publicity is always the cheapest and makes money.
I think most of Australian Mums fell in love with Fev on Dancing with the Stars, laugh at him for going on it, was best thing for him. They got to see the good side of him. He still has a long way to go and i pray that he doesn't fall into the trap again. I wish him all the best for his future and lives the rest of his life with his Kids and wife.
If you have ever had a Chance to see how good Fev is with Kids its amazing. He sort of is a Big kid himself.

I also wont High note myself, ive seen Fev when he was just about to be out of control. Pulled him aside, had a word to him, organised him a Car or room and managed it before it was a problem, kept it hush. For some reason he would listen to me, would always call me and tell me he was coming in and if i could see it was time, to ask him to leave. He was easy to manage compared to other people. Plus i had a strict policy that Fev never knew that his drink was to only have a Half shot. Could do as was not charged any drinks.
I could write so many stories what i seen for the Herald Sun for the next year, but never would.

Also he is a great Advertisement to Kids never to get ahead of yourself and end your Career the way he did. He could teach using Sam Newmans FARC academy (Joke) In all serious if he was teaching Kids at 15 how to kick the ball properly for goal. Im sure recruitment guys would be watching and taking notice. Goal kicking at AFL standard is terrible at the moment.
