really like tuohy, declared him last year but they held him back a bit,kid is a natural and ,you heard it here first,we have another one (off the books) at the moment, who will be a ripper.
By:
In all seriousness bootsma was just about the only one to put in a four quarter effort the previous week and in my opinion was terrific how the fark did he get the chop
By:
He's still raw and a bit lightly framed, LE. They are wise to bring him on slowly.
By:
Snake they have the bye now he should have played last night in my opinion especially given he'd earned the chance to come home and play in front of his family, another ratten mistake if you ask me and his run would have been invaluable.

Did you happen to note there is a major inquiry into the umpiring from Thursday night. A lot of pundits calling for heads to roll over it.
By:
Agree the umpiring was shocking but it didnt affect the outcome, the eagles dominated most of the match and should have won easily and if you noticed the eagles copped a number of shockers in the third quarter that got carlton back in the game. Blues in the end only copped slightly more shockers than the eagles and got at least three goals from blatant throws during passages of play that were in full view of the umpire. You are not going to seriously tell me that shuey didn't deserve every free kick he earnt. what about the clear spoil by the eagles defender in the final quarter, no free kick to carlton instead directly in front of goal and goaled as a result. The umpiring was atrocious, it favoured the eagles early but went close to being evened out by the end of the night.

It's a pity they don't have an animated rolling eye smiley as an option for that would be the only emoticon worth posting in response.

oh dear...
will Ratten,sticks..last the week ![]() |
By:
Ted surely they wouldn't sack him now, even Carlton will wait until the end of the season.
Not much doubt who won the Judd trade now, Judd has been terrific for the blues on and off the field but doubtful he will win a flag now at Carlton, the Eagles win that one hands down with Kennedy and Masten both developing into good players and appear more likely to win a flag now than does Judd. Credit where credit is due to Judd though as he insisted that the Eagles get something in return and I was rapt when we got Kennedy and a first round pick although it did look for a while as if Masten wasn't going to come on but he has since developed into a more than useful player and continues to improve. |

Memo to Brett Ratten: There are some good mining jobs over in WA

ziggytpunter43
06 May 12 06:09 if forced to use any nore than 2 of these ,the blues are gone. duigan, russell,JOSEPH,thornton, ellard, watson, mcclean, kurnow, the comp is not bad enuf to let muppets take the prize....sad days ahead ,re-sign ratten,re-elect sticks....finish top 8 for a few years then window closes. FCUK I'M A GOOD JUDGE...add Bootsma to the list, and add ****ing Joseph again,he's a **** |
By:
go on youtube and type in torchy(he's a made up little boy from a tv show in the late 50's) and tell me which current carlton player he looks like,
perhaps if our player had a torch on his head he could find more of the ball. |
By:
Ziggy your being a bit harsh there Bootsma actually has shown some real promise in less than a handful of games, and Watson did some good things against the Eagles the other day, joseph, russell, thornton I would definitely agree are a waste of space
By:
thornton's not so bad, underrated imo and blues could have done with him last night ... that's a certainty. And Lucas is alos not being given much of a chance..... main problem with blues is the tiny brigade going missing including the orange boots and midget who thinks he's roy cazaly. Attitude all wrong.
By:
very how long ago did I say that back in the game against the saints whatever round that was. Soon as I saw him running around in those boots I said at the time that this mob have got that far ahead of themselves its not funny and I don't know how because they have achieved zero.
By:
agree LE ,the win against an undermanned collingwood in rnd3 is our only win over a 'finals' side in the past 3 years or so.
the boots were an arrogant statement from a bloke who offers so much but has delivered little.the coach said ,in the press after that game, that the top was a 'given',just whereabouts in it was up for grabs....ahead of himself...then b4 essendon devoured us the coach said publicly we would not get ahead of ourselves, justsaying or thinking it means you have a problem when your recent achievemnet list adds up to 'squat'. |

.the coach said ,in the press after that game, that the top*4* was

AJ will be back.
I could not understand how Bootsma was in and No Bowyer. We up against Rough and Buddy. Bowyer is only 2nd rate nut Bootsma 60kg soaking wet. Im with Ziggy. Betts has to go at least an get something for him. Still cant understand why we gave awat Satanta and kept Russel and Boyer. Setanta at least Had a Crack. We are desperate for a CHF FF Coach FEVOLA |
By:
you don't understand no one else wants betts, freo may be dumb enough to take him but I wouldn't count on them even being dumb enough to take him
![]() |
By:
and the same i fear goes for gibbs
By:
I was stunned that they gave away setanta and I know he did his knee buts that a freak thing every cahnce it wouldn't have happened at carlton, different ground etc could have put his foot in hole, or anything. He was outstanding in the final against the Eagles and was one of the reason why why they pushed us to the absolute limit. Naturally you would want to dump a player who performs like that in a big final especially away from melbourne. talk about a farkin insane decision, they must have out on the turps with fev when they made that decision.
By:
Ziggy,
I know you know you know your stuff. Who do you want to Coach us? Who should go? What players should we have a good crack at? What Kids do we having coming through? One of the smartest Brains in footy and love listning to him talk is he any chance of getting a Assisting Coaching Job again? Or was he ruined by Grant Thomas and Punting. Very good friend of yours. One player who you have Potted. Has been great for the Club and deserves one last game, he has been gone the 2 last years. Body is gone now as was always on number 1 defender. Thornton. |
By:
Ill ask you a question How many players would get a game for Hawks or Pies. One of these teams will win the flag this year.
Judd, Yarren?, Gibbs?, Jarrad Waite?, Marc Murphy, Kreuzer, Jamison |
By:
What are you saying, Lloydy? You don't think the players you mentioned would get a game for the Hawks or Pies?
By:
Judd obviously, ditto Murphy, Kreuzer in his best form but not in his current form, Waite no, Jamison maybe with Hawks but doubtful, Gibbs are you kidding no chance of getting a game with either but might get a game with Gold Coast if he's lucky he's lower than some of my old bosses racehorses and that's saying something
![]() |
By:
if you're talking about the guy who's afraid of sharks lloydy.... i've heard him say he's not interested and happy enough doing his thing in the west and media.
By:
sorry that should read he's slower than some of my old bosses racehorses.
By:
Waite no? Seriously?
By:
out mate is off the radar unfortunatly....would be a ripper at any level of coaching, but that's another story.
First to go..office politic players, fitness gurus and poxy recruitment officers and of course the coach..this means sticks as well, great players both ,however coaching and being president are intellectual, philosophic and psychological pursuits not pyhisical ones. We need a new coach ,not some oldie, finding him may be more difficult than just saying we need him however.NOT MALTHOUSE,REPEAT NOT MALTHOUSE,totally wrong fit.rumour mill says we will sign this numbnuts for 3 years. Player wise must take a hachet to the list(this will only happen if new blood coaches). Certainly Joseph,White,Russell,Thornton,Kerr,O'keefe,Casboult and a few of the others will be de-listed.I would of traded Gibbs and Betts at the end of last year, both de-valued now but perhaps we could still get something for them.bytheway I am a fan of the way Paul Roos approached trade week, aggressively.Perhaps spending so much time in the states he learnt a bit about that sort of thing. I don't where we stand with Mitchell and McCarthy ,big bodied kids who we have yet to see becaise of injury. Clearly should trade either Hampson or Warnock, both have huge value at the moment.Trade to collingwood or Hawthorn because they need a ruckman. Players to have a crack at Beams,Cloke,Boak,Goddard,a young piece of Hawthorn talent(i.e Shiells)remebering they need a ruckman, most of all we need to draft and DEVELOP our youth way better. good kids coming thru ......zero unless Dylan Buckley is the goods and Lucas can get a game, also Fraser Dale can play...however we do have an irish freak coming. Future still dim...the joint needs a clean out from top to bottom and start again. |
By:
Bootsma goes ok but obviously needs to develop physically, ditto for Watson who showed a bit against the eagles. Warnock been a massive disappointment and don't know how many clubs would offer up too much for him. Tony Micale is one of the smartest football brains around and should have been a senior coach in AFL years ago but would probably be dismissed as being too old which is ridiculous, is an absolute genius at turning clubs around and fantstic at developing players.
By:
Snake Waite can play but is injury prone and becoming even more so, him playing now and actually being fit is now more of bonus than a guarantee.
By:
Judd, Yarren?, Gibbs?, Jarrad Waite?, Marc Murphy, Kreuzer, Jamison are the only players fully Fit that could get a Game with Hawks or Pies.
Gibbs is a Fine player, just not coached well. He is so skillfull but does lack hardness. We rcruited him as a Midfeilder but he is used as a Tagger. Also he is still very young. I have not lost faith in him. I also would not be surprised if we beat Pies or win the Line. The Cloke Deal. He will be at Pies next year. Its the biggest Media build up over nothing. Eddie and all the Sponsors are loving it. Also Cloke is still playing Ok football and doing his Job. Simson 50/50 |

Here is what i come up with.
Also our Coaching. When got Pagen, great get was promised the World. Goddard, Wells. Before he signed he never knew that we wouldn’t have any draft picks for 3 years. No Goddard, No Wells I know Pagen well and he told us that the Board people and people that pile all the money in have the run of the place and was a difficult place to work. Also the list he had was an old aging list and he didn’t have much to work with. Plus a group of players wouldn’t do what he wanted, Weight programs, eating programs, plus the big party problems and Drug and Gambling problems. Impossible to Control as Board would stick up for the players, Past players had to much to say. Pagen worked his But off and was able to turn some players around. He also had to get Rookie players and Mick Martian as he had Nothing. Also players he wanted to clear off the list he was not allowed and had to do his best with the list we had. Those days watching Carlton get pumped all the time are going to happen again unless something is done. Pagen was made look a Scape Goat We tried our Ass off to get Voss who was untried and was nearly signed. Brisbane, how could he say no to. People say he cant coach. I really like Brisbane’s list and they have some stars of the future not like us, i cant see many coming through. Because we couldn’t get Voss there was nobody around so we went Ratten. Rattens 1st couple of years was told at all Cost MUST not win. Has been there 5 years and has 1 game plan. He has to go. There is not much out there and i don’t want Malthouse. Ratten was a star player and will always be loved but is a sitting duck week after week. Has the Passion just slow to make Changes. We are still struggling since Elliot days when all Clubs where doing it we just had Past players that Dobbed us in Sam Jacobs. Patrick McCarthey, Andrew Mcinnes Pick 33 and 67. Would be worth a Pick 5-10 right now. I loved watching Sauce go around in a Blues Jumper. Players we should have a crack at Getting. Goddard, He still wears Carlton Boxer shorts to bed, Travis Boak, Gumbleton yes Gumbleton. Would not take much to get and If can get right would be worth the risk. Also have a look at some Gold Coast Kids or GWS that are home sick. Ill ask you a question How many players would get a game for Hawks or Pies. One of these teams will win the flag this year. Judd, Yarren, Gibbs?, Jarrad Waite?, Marc Murphy, Kreuzer, Jamison We have to many Small Forwards, No Big Forwards. Betts, Gartlett, Walker. 1 has to go and last year was the year i would of departed Walker as his Value was Sky high. Now its worth little and he signed a huge contract. BETTS loved by you, he may be worth something. Aaron Joseph Stick to his job every week, but lacks any skill. It scarey how many times when he does gets the ball he turns it around, Keeps getting a game every week. Dont be surprised if Ratts is gone next year AJ is delisted, NO club will pick him up. Andrew Carrazzo We got him from the Rookie list for nothing as was delisted from Geelong. Was known as Mr Turn over. The last 3 years has worked his butt off and is a Key player to our list. BUT would he slot into another clubs list? Andrew Collins He is nearly 30 years old, we gave away Grig to get him. Grig wanted out so was no stopping us and had to get something, Tigers list was pretty poor. Draft pick would of been better option. Wont be on Carlton list next year Andrew Mcinnes Part of Sam Jacobs trade. Finaly a kid that can dispose the ball both feet. Tough as well. Playing 2nds at Bullants. Trains hard. Dont know if will make it Andrew Walker Wow i was so excited when he played his 1st game against West Coast We picked him up no 2. Looked a Superstar in the making. He has had 1 game and 1 standout Season. This year he looks lost and doesn’t even know where the ball is going. Also he had such great Ball skills early in career but due to lack of commitment and just cruising a long he never improved. 2010 we were ready to give him away for nothing. 2011 he had that standout season and was at the end of his Contract, i said to my Mate we should of offloaded him as we would of been able to get something for him as the other had no Value on the market. We have to many types of these players. Very lazy player and when we are down his head is down, doesn’t go in hard. Only looks good when things going good his way. When you look at that Draft there is not many any the Top 10 still playing AFL and that ones that are are all Fringe. Poor Cooney will never make it back to half his best. Players we could of had. Baeu Waters who was training with us, David Mundy. We only had 1 pick in the Draft that year. We never got it wrong we never got it right. Rookie Draft we picked up Nick Stevens, Very serviceable for our Club. Also Ricky Mott, Glen Bowyer. We Missed the following Brad Sewell, Matthew Boyd, Michael Johnson. Blake Bray Very young kid on Scholarship. Trains his ass off. Skills not the best but is very young. Very Skinny, been playing reserves for Bullants. Might not make the Chop Bret Thornton Has been great for the club, a guy with terrible ball skills. He did tough Jobs week in week out and been very serviceable for our Club, He played on no 1 forwards every week and Body now is past his best. Does try but AFL level has gone past him now. Will be lucky to get back on seniors list, look how many we have out and he cant get a game. We got him for nothing but paid Big money to keep him when Hawks wanted him. When off list next year will leave some room in the Salary Cap for us. Deserves to get 1 last game and retire this year. Great Clubman. Brock McLean Please. What where we thinking. We gave up Pick 11 for a player that goes in hard but to slow. Melbourne could not believe their luck we gave away such a high pick for a player that had major injuries and was gone at Melbourne. A draft that was Full of Guns. Hawks gave away Pick 69 for Gibson that year, Pies got Luke Ball Pick 30. I have always rated Gibson high. Jordan Gsberts is who we lost to get McClean. Will be a star of the future is Injured at moment and still a Kid. We picked up Kane Lucus that year. Ill go more into him. Missed Fyfe, Sam Reid, Bryce Gibbs Our most Skillfull player on our list. Smart footy brain. Seems to have all the time in the world when has the ball and uses it well. Does not like it hard. Really thought this year could be his breakout season. He is exact like Houlihan but better. Really frustrates me as he backs away from packs and wont go for the hard ball. Would walk into any teams list. Either badly coached, played in wrong position. We recruited him as a Midfeilder. He is used as a Tagger. He loves the Blues so will be a lifetime player. Even if we where to trade his value has decreased. I don’t want to see him go. I think a new coach would fix him up and have him with Judd, Murps in the Middle. He is getting waisted at the moment and can see lacks confidence. He honestly needs to get the **** punched out of him and some **** put into him to be a star player. Or he will just coast along and in 10 years people will say Bryce Who. We also picked up Grigg, Anderson and Austin in that draft as our 2nd pick in the Draft, players missed Tippet, Todd Goldstein, Tyson Goldsack. Picked up Sam Jacobs who we gave away for nothing. Now would be worth a top 10 Pick. Chris Judd Best player in the game, Is he gone or carrying a Injury or heavily tagged out of the game won a Brownlow, lifted Carlton out of the Gutters. How many years left in him? Has lost that Zip and kicking at Goal is his only flaw in his game. Puts in 100% all the time. When we got him, he could not believe what other players got up to. Eating Pizza, Fried food, not training 100% he set the standard and many followed. Pagen tried for years to get this to happen. Was a win, win trade but will come back to bite us in future. We gave away Kennedy and Mastern for him. We had to get him, West Coast played it beautiful. We wanted Kruiser so Bad we gave up Kennedy a player in the making who was very raw and green at the time but Huge wraps on him. He wanted so Bad to stay at Carlton, the trade nearly never happened and Judd would of gone to Melb. The only reason he never went to Melb was the facilities at Melb. Melb was his 1st Choice. Weast Coast now would say they got the best deal. Its a Win win for both. Im a big fan of Kennedy and he put in 100% at Carlton in his learning curb. Chris Yarren Missed him badly this year. So skilful and provided our run and carry out of the Backline, last year. Need to get him fit and right. Is a Key player for Carlton. So Skilful. Cant blame him this year. If he isn’t right he should not be playing and cotton wool him for next year. It was a Disaster Draft for us we gave away 3 picks to get Warnock. David Ellard Not up to AFL level and never will be. Just like AJ superstar Joseph. Trys but not up to it, come off Rookie list. Will be lucky to be at Carlton next year. Dennis Armfeild Has 1 foot. Always is left by himself on the wing as not a damaging player. Shows glimpses every now and then but also goes missing more than doing anything. No football brain, makes some terrible decisions that turn over and end up a Goal down the other end. Lucky to get a game at times and will never be tagged as other teams don’t worry about him. Was our 2nd pick in the Draft that Year as we gave away Pick 3 pick 20 and Kennedy to get Judd. That Draft now looks to be a Cracking Draft. Trade Please Dylan Buckly Looked good in the preseason. Has some skills and football brain. Would of gone high in the draft if we didn’t get him under father sun rule. Will be a good watch on him. Need to learn AFL level put some weight on and be a hard nut player. Dean Rice style. GWS tried hard to get him. We had to take him as a Kid FS rule. Small needs to fill out. Eddie Betts Looks a Superstar when not under pressure, lucky to be able to kick 35mt. Ive argued over him and yes he does tackle and runs players down, kicks some freakish games. We have Gartlett, Walker and Betts all the same type of players one has to go. Eddie wont go but would not be a loss if he did. When Ratts puts him on the Ball its scary. He is lost, no clue. If you had to pick 2 players Henderson or Betts who would your pick be now. Betts is 26 Henderson is 22 and still heaps of Development needed in him. Ive never been a Betts fan as when the heat is on he is Cold as Ice. Not a Match Winner Ed Curnow Overated and Cubs love it when he has the ball he kicks it down their throat. If we had our Chance again who would you pick Delhouse, Ian Callinan or Curnow? Frazer Dale Young Kid, Can play Heath Scotland Been a warrior and underestimated player, we need 2 of him. Has a Crack, has the footy brain. Judd turned his Career around or he might of been with Fevola now if never changed. Worrying signs he is 31 years of age maybe 1 more year left in him. Will be a Huge loss when he is gone. Pagen got him for nothing. Was a wild child and lucky not to be in Jail. Will make a great Assistant Coach in future. Jarrad Waite Is nearly at end of his Career and has never really started. Such a tease can never get a season out of him. Such talent but we will never see the best of him. Sad as he is such a Key player. Great Mark. Can play both end of the ground. A fully fit Waite is a Star. But frustrating we cant get him on the track Jeff Garlett Great pick up, is one of those players that can go missing and hasn’t been coached well his career. I rate him much higher than Betts. But also might be worth something on the market, the Orange boots MUST go. Jeremy Laidler What a pick up. Because of such talent in Geelong list he was a Fringe player with them. Will be a player like Thornton used to be. Rushed him back. Hope it hasn’t ruined him. Jordan Russel Sleeps with the light on, ball magnet but **** himself and hand balls off to the opposition so they don’t slap him. Should of been traded last year wont be on our list next year. Josh Bootsma He is a Kid playing against men, lucky to be 60kg soaking wet. Could not believe he got a game against Buddy and Roughy, what is Ratts trying to do to him shoot his Confidence down and run away from Afl to play Basketball back in Adelaide. We need to develop him and play him against the Gold Coast, Melb, GWS teams for now to give him a sniff and hunger. Friday night. I felt so sorry for him before the game even started. He was subbed off i think in 1st Qtr. If they kept him on longer was a Chance he could of been snapped in Half against the Big men of Hawks. Has a future Kade Simson Should of stepped up when Murp went out. But is lightly framed and will get hurt going in for hard ball. Skillfull and likes to be on his own. I rate him like Camporlie. Sheepdog. But all clubs need players like this. Problem is we have to many. He is the best out of all of them. Much needed player on our list. With all the players out really needed to stand up and be counted but hasn’t. Is Trade bait for a Team that has a shot at Flag. Kane Lucus Might go down as one of those highly skilled players that never made it. Should be playing senior football, but kept very quite is on 2 strikes. Has all the talent but doesn’t want it. Much like Tarrent in his early career. We need him badly playing and wanting to be an AFL player. So many players taken late in the draft after him that have gone on. Lachie Henderson Fans hated him because he was part of the Fev deal. He is still a Kid and in the stage like Kennedy was when at Carlton. Was best move and i give Ratten a tick putting him down back. When he gets his confidence and some Muscle into him. He could be our Centre Half Forward of the future. Just drops to many marks at the moment. Great kick at goal. Levi Cashboult When they tied him up they should of left him there. Terrible football brain. Fringe player. Dont think he will make it at AFL level Luke Mitchell They thought they found a Jono Brown in this Kid, Badly injured his shoulder, Has Fevs number 25. On Potential is our Best Kid but Cant get on the track, Will take time as he is a Big boy. Would of been in Top 10 in the Draft if wasn’t injured, 2013 if can get a Full Pre season will hopefully fill our CHF role that we desperately need. Marc Murphy Superstar Midfeilder. Missing him badly and so is Juddy, Carries players. Need 1 more of him. Hopefully they don’t rush him and just put him out and get him ready for next year. Marcus Davies Looked ok some of the games i seen him play. Has been on Injury list for a while. Great Tackler, Matthew Kreuzer Such high profile player and looked a Superstar in the making till copped that Injurie due to a terrible Hospital kick. Came back like he had never been injured now is struggling big time. Still only a Kid and Ruckmen need time. Another one if he is not right. Get him fixed and bulked up for next year. He is a Star Ruckman and smart football brain. Getting played like a Midfeilder and Forward at moment. Dont mind him up Forward but only when resting from ruck. Matthew Lodge Another Kid on Scholarship, Matthew Watson Highly picked draft pick. Has one foot. Great long kick. No Football brain, Another one of those that sleeps with the light on and when hears footsteps he **** himself and just kicks to opposition, Can only kick on his left, He dominated Football at junior level, they will be the only trophy he has in his Cabnet. Just watch his decision when he has the ball its scarey. Here is who went after him in the Draft when we were desperate for a Key forward. Jack Darling, Alex Fasolo, Matthew Jamison Another Steel in the draft by Pagen. Who at all cost wanted him. Needs some help down back as cant take number 1 forward. Had no help last week and no wonder was Injured again. Him and Yarren work together so good. Just hope he can come back to the level he was playing last year. Mitch Robinson Has a good hard Crack and scares other players, Will Kill to get the ball. Only problem is disposable. He is not damaging against good teams. Has a future if works on Skills. Mitchell Carter 1 Foot player delisted by Saints. May not be on list next year. Nick Duigan Had a good year last year but another that doesn’t have the Skill for AFL level. Ball magnet at times but turns it over. Will be a player in and out of the team all the time also 29 years of age. Nick Heyne Been Injured and GWS have them on their list to Poach. Has some skill but been Injured most of his life. Patrick McCarthy Part of the Sam Jacobs trade. Tall defender needs to put on some weight is a string bean, looks like Fletcher from Bombers, needs a few years in the Gym . Ratted Highley as a Future leader, Great mark, good decision maker, Very Athletics. Played Seniors as a Junior for Glenelg. If we could get Boak be a good trade. Kid has a Future but needs time Paul Bower Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. Very, Very scarey when has the ball. Could not understand how he wasn’t playing on Friday to at least help Jamo out. We kept him and let Setanata go. He hasn’t stepped up. MUST be traded next year to his 3rd club. Wont get much for him. Rhys O`Keefe Fringe player. When we were trying to get Ryan O`Keeffe from Syd we should of tried harder. He was dying to be in a blues Jumper Robert Warnock We gave so much for him. Is the most over payed player for what he delivers. Great Tap ruckman. I was shattered we let Jacobs go ad kept with Warnock. Only problem is we need him as Hampson is no good either. We have to make a Big dissision and get something for 1 of them. Warnock is a Better tap Ruckman than Hampson, Hamson better up forward but defenders love him up there as he is not damaging. We will trade Warnock as they will keep Hampson due to Megan Gale Factor. We gave 3 players up for Warnock has delivered nothing. Rohan Kerr Judd wanted Daniel Kerr so bad and we nearly got him. Insted we got Rohan Kerr who has not been sighted. Small forward who wont get a game as we have to many of them. Been in trouble 1 strike rule and Alcohol, ice kick, small heart. Sam Rowe Big wraps on him and will be a Big help to Kruizer if can get over Injury he has. Shaun Hampson I cloe my Eyes seing this big dud going around. Reminds me of Kosi for Saints. Carlton only have him because of Marketing. He is the 1st player i would Trade next year. And we could get maybe a Pies players not happy about Salary offered because of Cloke. He also was our 2nd pick after Gibbs, we then picked Grigg after him. Its scarey when you look at what was drafted after them a waisted Recruitment year were we tanked to get these picks. Renouf, Chris Dawes, Tippet, Goldstein, Grey, Goldsack, Kyle Reimers, Justin Westoff, Simon White On the Injury list. Be lucky to be on list next year. Lacks marking skills. Has Koutas Number Tom Bell CANT Kick. So might hold his spot and stay on list. Is a Rookie player. Not much skill but has big heart Zack Tuohy We held him back a year. Still very raw will be a Key player of the future. Also takes no backward step from nobody. |

I would take Carrazzo all day long. One of the best shut down players in the game. Any side would be glad to have him.
By:
Good stuff lloydy..
Agree about Voss, has built his list similar to west coast of 3 years ago.. And agree snake re carrazzo, would walk into any team.. Personally I think west coast got the best out of the Judd deal with Kennedy and Masten Hope Sticks read this lloydy..it makes sense |
By:
Crazy at his Age now i dont think any Club would take him.
He worked his Butt off and deserves his Jumper. Take my hat off to him as i wanted him out the year he won B&F Very serviceable to Carlton. BUT i dont think any team would take him because of Age. Id hate to see it but a Carlton/Footscray Merge wouldnt be to bad. To many teams not enough talent. GWS gifted a flag in 4 years time. yet nobody will support them. I live in Maroubra ( ithink the best place in Syd to live) area and its very rare to see anybody kicking a Afl football. Its all Rugby. Also Western Sydney is very scarey. I was working in Parramatta for a short time and had a Warehouse that was helping my partner clear out in Bankstown. That Area of Sydney is shocking. I never knew it was that bad till lived in Sydney. BTW im not racist the people that live out in that area will never get involved with football. Most are Arabs, Lebanese, Asian 95% on the Dole but all drive nice Cars, live in Goverment housing. Should of Been a Kangas/Canberra side that play sometimes in Syd. Has a great Setup and Gifted a Flag in 3-4 years time |

Lloydy mostly a good assessment, think your a bit harsh on watson he's very inexperienced and player of his size takes longer, there were several glimpses of real potential from him in that game against the eagles I was impressed on several occasions watching him live that night. Think you'll find that Bootsma is a WA kid as well not from Adelaide, Tuohy is going to be a very good player
Think its pretty ordinary you mentioning who is on drug strikes especially when that can't be substantiated. I think the AFL drug policy is craap as well but unless you actually know you may be unfairly discrediting someone's reputation. Haven't you guys learned anything form the Damien Oliver furore & the WA racing and harness racing journalist Andrew Carter who was fitted up, subjected to outright lies, fraudulent police reports which all but ruined his life by the local newspaper and WA racing authorities and certain, at the time, powerful WA racing officials. He and his family were put through five years of hell purely and simply because of the unbridled power these people had and still have at their disposal and it was rumours and vicious innuendo that achieved this, tearing down a good decent individual whose only crime was to publicly constructively criticise these same racing authorities and officials when warranted. The web of lies and the story created by these people was too juicy not to be spread, they knew it and propelled it themselves initially and the industry and the media took over and continued their dirty work for them. He finally cleared his name only late last year after a nearly 5 year WA Supreme Court defamation battle which cost Andrew over 150,000 in legal fees and the failed defence of these miscreants cost the industry well over $500,000 in legal fees, Andrew won the battle hands down but is massively in debt as a result despite not having done anything wrong and being completely innocent of anything and he lost a lucrative international employment opportunity that he was about to take up when all of this occurred and his career andhis personal and professional reputation were totally destroyed overnight as a result. In conclusion Lloydy I'm not having a shot at you as such, I just fervently believe having seen these sort of things close up that we need to exercise far more caution in making accusations, behind psuedonyms, that most people wouldn't make in public because they would be defaming the people who the comments are about. |

agree with most of the stuff you posted Llyoydy but the real situation is not defined by invidual player reports,it goes way beyond that sort of analysis.
The sad fact is that the club is behind the field in terms of 1)recruitment of young players, identifying possible draftees 2)development of young players 3)strength and conditioning 4)set structures (we no longer innovate but simply follow the current trend e.g foward pressure 2010(collingwood),end to end kick ins 2008/9 (west coast/geelong)and rolling zones 2007 (Hawthorn). Until the change comes from above meaning President and Senior Admin and Footy Staff, the problems I have outlined above will continue to lead to the same conclusions. These conclusions will inevitably lead to more frustration along the lines you express. Whilst AFL clubs are massive (in terms of staff and budget etc.) they in fact are little different from any of your local club scenarios. The main problems are the same.Given my past and connections I reckon I have a fair idea of what is required to use as an outline for a successful regime.Sadly the Blues do not faintly represent what is required off-field at the moment and sadly when that rights itself the on field benefits will still be 4/5 years away.Hence the sooner they admit they are fcuked up ,the sooner they may be able to rectify the situation. Even then it may not save us.Given the current draft and recruitment possibilties it is unlikely that we can mount a serious challenge before 2018,probably later.Hope I'm wrong but I don't wear rose coloured glasses. finally on Watson .My sons and I watch every (that is every game, every year from the u/18 championships, and he was a zone-off defender whose best work was done a designated kicker...his one on one defensive skills were poor and have inproved only a little. His pace was always going to be a problem as was his decision making. finally on drafting,Geelong took best available and traded their access midfielders for what they lacked ,Ottens and Mooney etc for prismall etc. Sydney did not take ruckman in the draft they waited until the players develop elsewhere and at age 24/25 take best available.Ball from west coast,Jolly from melbourne and now Mumford from Geelong. we don't have a plan.if we do we are hiding it really well. |
