What a joke the Libs and Abbott are, and they continue to show their contempt for the voters by refusing to put up anything that resembles a policy or vision.
They have decided to oppose everything that Labor has done and everything they plan to do in the future. Then they expect us to believe that the only Labor Policy they agree with is Labor's Industrial Relations Policy....what an insult to the Australian people they are , in expecting us to believe that they wont alter this policy and send us back to the dark ages of Howard's attempt to undermine the worker. Please note : that they have taken both sides of the fence when asked about whether they would change Labor's I.R. policy....no doubt so that if elected...... and when they do revert back to WORKCHOICES..... they can grab the appropriate sound bite to show that they did say they would /alter/ tweak/change this policy. They have had 3 years to develop their own Industrial Relations policy, or any policy...but no ......they are happy with Labor's I.R. policy.... What a BARE FACED LIE this is. They continue to be in denial about the real state of our economy compared to the rest of the world...and continue to try and paint a FALSE bleak picture of doom and gloom, instead of coming up with a plan for the future. What an insult to the Australian people they are, for an opposition, they have had 2/3 years to come up with something that resembles a policy, but they offer nothing..... but how bad off we are and how bad Labor are,....nothing to show how good they are, and how they see the future of this country, you know....a plan for the future. You would think that as an opposition you would at least put up some policies? To show the people that you have a plan....but all we get is how bad Labor are and how badly they have handled the economy????? and the Libs are going to cut this and cut that.(trying to create the false impression that things are worse than they actually are)...blimey i'd hate to see the cuts the Libs would adopt if the actual state of the economy was bad. If they were going for a job they would be ushered out of the interviewers office in quick time for the sheer arrogance of adopting this approach of.... Don't you worry about me....i am not as bad as the last bloke....without showing your potential employer that you have a plan and a vision for your employer, not just tell him you are going to be better than the last bloke/woman. This bloke is putting his hand up for the highest position in the country....and yet, in this interview process...all we get is a brash, arrogant and swaggering politician who is more intent on deflecting scrutiny off himself and his party, instead of showing us his vision for the country and our future. |

Education Rebate policy announced today makes Labour's look like change in the car ashtray AFL.
And it's a bit like those CEO'S in the Banking system, especially overseas where they are richly rewarded now just to see millions lost because of their actions a couple of years later. China will have a recession , it's the law of economics proven over time , we will go with them.Things are not as good as it seems. Many older people will never see in their lifetimes the money lost through the GFC. All it will take is one slight bump , and the country's finances have nothing in the locker. They had to create a new tax to get more money(miners). It has nothing to do with the spin of getting more return for the Aus people |

World economy could do anything especially with almost every country being "socialist" under Mrben's definition
wait and see I guessWhat did you think of Abbott's change to the rebate AP? - the worker paying for rich kids violins and pianos that will cost "X billion dollars"? He sure knows how to appeal to the working class (i.e. those that work for a living and try to battle on at or under the average wage) What's happened to Jez??? I hope he is ok - it's been a tough first week for Abbott |

oh dear this useless new prime minister could decide what to have for her own breakfast.Needs the faceless backroom to make all her decisions.Read below for the pathetic puppet govt labor is.
Critics have accused Labor of creating the assembly to waste time and delay action on a carbon price. They also fear unrealistic expectations are being imposed on the assembly. The national parliament already has failed to agree on whether a carbon price is needed. An independent authority will select the 150 people from all regions and age groups. Participation will be voluntary and involve some face-to-face meetings. The assembly, which has not been given a start date, will be given 12 months to reach a verdict. Its costs will come out of $9 million set aside for it and a separate experts' panel. Ms Gillard repeatedly has said she does not want to create a carbon price until community consensus was clear that one is needed. "This has to be a consensus beyond Parliament House," she told the reporters. fkkkkkk me- there has to be consensus beyond parliament house????????? errrrrrr jooolia I think you missed the memo, thats what elections are for.We the people elect you the PM{ oh sorry you were'nt elected PM were you{neverther less} and when you got the job your supposed to make decisions- thats what your there for.Putting every issue to the people everytime means NOTHING will ever get done, unless its a tax hike, seems you have no issue raising taxes, no need to consult there huh?? The nation is doomed under the next gilliard govt. |

There was a fairly good debate of the climate change / carbon price issue on Q&A on the ABC last night. Also covered a few other topics, if anyone is interested it may be worth a look at the ABC website (can watch the show on there).
Must say, the discussion on the programme really highlighted how internally polarised both both major parties are. |

it was a good laugh last week with John Elliot, aka australia's biggest white collar crook to escape the can on a technicality, and Felicity Hempel very convivial, chatting and joking with each other enjoying the limelight and life. Of course the nations biggest white collar crim (and who no doubt would also believe he's the best person to be prime minister) knows exactly what is needed to govern the nation better than anyone else. HOw unnerving to see the font of knowledge and paragon of virtue being applauded for his straight faced gospelling to the plebians. ps: where has jez gone ?? Just like anthony b exposed recently.... Polling back to Rudd levels for Labour Wombleoz, will be intersting to see if the decline continues.
Question posed on Lateline last night when Minister for women's affairs was talking about how proud they were of the Gov't record.Well why replace the leader? stumble, silence and then Julia has said the Gov't has lost it's way. Elephant in the room, the big fella isn't going anywhere ![]() |

surely labor should be over the line here?
only a 1st term govt , their leader had record levels of popularity and a long list of achievements lets break it down a little no one term all new govt ever given the flick before yet this one the ppl are considering, the ever popular leader now long gone ![]() and achievements whatever we can find of them all paid for with a massive growing debt no wonder the ppl are wary tony sent some flyer to every postbox here and no doubt where you are stating work choices are dead about 3 times and nothing else mentioned, will make some ppl think hard methinks especially in the face of labor govts spending bucketloads of $$ they havent got and massive bill increases with no extra in the pay packet latest word on joolya now says she wasnt going to support the pension increase due to them being predom lib supporters , what a wonderful woman she is NOT |

they're all the same second. The filtering system from pre selection through to the top ranking cabinet members ensures that honest, trustworthy, INTELLIGENT, hard working, caring people cannont pass through the Ahole only membrane. I'll trust the hip pocket nerve again... which says to me that irregardless of what the liberals advertise re work choices... most voters wont believe it and vote from fear again. It finished howard and will prevent abbott.

joolia needs to stick to those kindergartens. No chance of being challenged there.Except rudd used this tactic last time and electorate sees it for what it is, avoiding the issues.
Talk back radio and blogs are awash with anti labor opinions yet the polls still favour jooolia.Everyone you talk to in the real world thinks labor stinks.Pools favour labor. Longer the campaign goes the more exposed lobes gilliard is, eventually her facade will crumble and she will be exposed as a fraud. Its just a pity abbott is'nt a bit stronger. |

yes and MB perhaps julia and tony could both get in the sandpit at the kiddygartaen, together with their toys, and show everyone what their true capabilities are. Labour hold a 17 seat majority, so whilst imo feel Coalition certainly will pull some of that back, it is quite a margin to make up, Labour may squeak home with a very thin majority. 4 or 5 might go in Qld and 2 or 3 in West Sydney, the Greens look likely to take inner seat of Melb, so leaves WA.You would think Sth Australia may get behind home town girl irregardless of fk-ups.Depending on how far the WA/Qld miners can rattle the cage prob decide the west.Possibly be a hung parliment. Would Libs do deal with Aust Sex party and Family first or a couple of Independents? if they happen to sneak a few seats?
Interestingly, their has been no vision of the latest few boat arrivals on any tv stations |

The truth about labor's fiasco as a party is being revealed day by day.The longer Lobes Gilliard is in the worse it gets for her.The puppet is being revealed.she is finding it difficult to hide her contempt for certain parts of the nation.
July 31 news Tony Abbott leads Julia Gillard in latest poll From: AAP July 31, 2010 2:04AM Increase Text SizeDecrease Text SizePrint Email Share JULIA Gillard has taken a battering in the latest opinion poll, which shows the Coalition would win the election if it was held now. Support for the Prime Minister and Labor has fallen dramatically while the Opposition has taken the lead in the Herald/Nielsen poll published today. The Coalition is now ahead of Labor on a two-party preferred basis by 52 per cent to 48 per cent - a six percentage point swing against the government since the last Nielsen poll a week ago. Labor's primary vote has plummeted six points to 36 per cent while the Coalition's primary vote has risen four points to 45 per cent. Ms Gillard's popularity has even fallen among women, with her 58-42 lead over Tony Abbott narrowing to 49-51. Her approval rating fell five points to 51 per cent and her disapproval rating rose six points to 39 per cent. Seems she cannot even fool the womens for a few weeks. No wonder the Libs are gettting backed in. |

The only reason this poll is so bad Mrben is that it's been all about Labor all week and it's mostly been bad - leaks etc - as soon as the focus goes onto Abbott it'll get back to where it should be

Morning all....a huge 3 weeks of the election campaign to date.
I'm campaigning hard for real action and real leadership. ![]() What an absolutely fascinating campaign this has turned out to be. There is no doubt, the dynamics have changed, this election is like no other. I felt a feeling of overwhelming joy on glancing at the Galaxy poll out this morning again showing the Coalition maintaining a slender lead over the hopeless, hapless and shambolic Labor government. Make no mistake boys and girls, the ALP are floundering, shaky, desperate and running out of options. The bin of dumped plans/strategies is close to overflowing at ALP HQ. Is "the real Julia" and a last minute resucitation of the desposed and loathed former Prime Minister Rudd, the best Bruce Hawker and the rest of the Hawker Britton boys could come up with at ALP HQ? ROFLMAO. ![]() This Labor government is in deep strife and they devastatingly know it. Internal polling for the Coalition and Labor are showing primary vote figures for the government that are worse still than the public polling out there. With a 2 week (mother of all) Abbott fear campaign and the throwing of everything and kitchen sink at the Coalition about to begin (that Mr Abbott warned off before the election), Labor insiders are close to reaching for the rosary beads and get the wishing, hoping and praying mode into full swing. Its always difficult to defeat a first-term government and Labor are sinister, brutal and often effective campaigners. But as I say, the dynamics are different. How's about the record? - the waste, the debt, the taxes and the boats. How's about the swift, brutal execution of a first term PM? And how's about the chronic division and disunity within Labor with the litany of leaks and whispers. I remember a great and magnificent former Prime Minister once said, disunity is death - and so it is, even just a tiny whiff of it! How can we trust this Labor government, when it's senior members, don't trust each other and they honestly do not believe they deserve re-election.....? I have to say I love listening to the constant flow of denial from Wombleoz and the Labor cheer squad. You may very well win, but there is a real possibibility, you won't. You comrades are very much helping the Coalition and Tony Abbott's cause. There has been a fatal mistake, realised week's ago by Labor strategists but still terminally smothering this bad government and its faithful - the simple fact that they strongly and unequivocally believe Tony Abbott is unelectable and the perpetuated under-estimation of him as a leader.............. In my mind, along with the glaringly obvious flaws of this bad government, for Labor, this may end up being a potentially fatal error of judgement. |
