Should have took notice of my husband who said it was risky, timeform got it well wrong !!!! |

At odds of 11/1 Maillot Blanc looks worth the ew selection at 17.12 Perth.
Third at Kelso in its last race this CD and distance winner has been placed on 2 out of last 3 starts. its current form rating is in top 3and it might even have a chance of winning and at that price ill go for it. |

By:
Ran well thought it might win at one stage . Very comfortable second but backed into 13/2 from 11 when i backed it. Hey ho at least it gives us some points

Well done again captain. Unfortunately, it hasn't moved us up, and three of the teams above have yet to play a card.
As far as I could see good opportunities are limited this week. I quite like Minella Yoga on Saturday, but ground and track are a little bit of an unknown, and he is only 6/1. So decided to go today. 3.27 Longchamp Take Me On EW I was sorely tempted to go win as he has the profile of a horse who could win nicely, or bomb. A reproduction of his 2yo win would give him every chance. Guyon didn't seem to know what to do on his seasonal debut. For me he crossed the line with plenty left to give. He takes a drop to Listed today, wears a hood, and thankfully Guyon, who has messed up on several for this yard recently, is unavailable. The round course should also be a plus. I am very much hoping that Soumillon will send him forward. If he doesn't it could well end in tears. Fingers crossed it doesn't. |
|
By:
And he didn't send it forward. Idiotic tactics. Smashed up 13/2-11/4 so bookmakers laughing. He was a million coming out of the stalls. Horse is clearly not straightforward, just rolled around and finished on the bridle in tenth.

hey DD -sorry didnt get to watch the race- great write up andlogic as always- sometimes jockeys dont do the job they get paid to do
![]() lets hope the remaining team members can get us up that table. ![]() |
|
By:
Yes, you would think connections would have some sort of clue. Three runs now: sent forward he bolts up, held up he looks very awkward and disappoints twice. You would think a 5yo could work that out. It will be doubly disappointing if Minella Yoga goes on to win.

I was going to put up State Red which I did in the naps league comp but the price was too short for ew, so put up Big Cypress instead can't belive the prices changed so much, and typical Big Cypress never got placed.
![]() Let's hope we get some luck with the rest of the team selections. |
|
By:
Oh well better luck next week team, well done skipper at least we didn't end up with zero points this week.
|
|
By:
and so we move into week 5 of the comp and we sit in a handy 3rd place position. Lets hope that this round can push us up the table.
I like the chances of The Good biscuit in the 15.58 at Pontefract today. The horse is a CD winner and has the benefit of a good run at Catterick 3 weeks ago where it finished third on its season debut and goes on the ground (good). He is on the same mark and Warren Fentinon claims a handy 3lb . The drift is a bit of concern (9/4)but if it wins it gives us a better return. Lets hope he can get us off to a winning start in round 5. ![]() Good luck with your selections this week ![]() |
|
By:
I should back that selection!
|
|
By:
Good luck captain. The same thoughts apply to this round as they did to the last round. We are third only because of one good round, and the other teams have failed to get going.
I had a nice winner at Punchestown yesterday so let's hope this isn't a case of after the horse has bolted. 6.35 Punchestown Celestial Tune EW i can't really understand the price here. Maybe there is something that I don't know? If the ground is the key, as I believe, then he should be at least half the price. If there is nothing amiss his early season form gives him every chance. Fingers crossed the market is wrong. |
|
By:
Thankd DD and gl m8 .
My selection is drifting like th proverbial and is out to 4/1. If it wins at that price that will be nice. |

Thanks, ran it's race, but might have run into something exceptional. At least it's a 1/4. I always think that the reward for a big priced each-way is relatively disappointing if you think a 1/2 shot delivers 15 points.
Didn't see your race as I only watched Punchestown, probably a good thing I didn't. |
|
By:
i agree DD .
![]() We wd have been top if mine had won but we are second so not to shabby a start -lets hope the other team members can get some good points![]() |
