Thanks all. It's nice to land on the right one, if only it happened a bit more often. The horse is very game, and he deserved that win. Moose, I had no idea you had posted. It takes a few minutes for me to do the write-up.
cufmos, stay positive, nobody would have expected Sober Glory to run like that. Clearly we are in a decent position, but it would be nice get something from our last two selections. Some teams have quite a lot of shots to fire, and might just decide to go big. Good luck to those still to post. |

I know our skipper had his eye on the ball, but we need to try and avoid the above messing about on the Saturday.
Fortunately, it was another low scoring day, and we have held on. Consequently, the table reads a lot better, but a bad couple of weeks and we could be back where we started, so let's try and repeat the dose. |

My selection was never inthe race. Tought it was a poor ride from Bowen who let the other horses get too far ahead and then had too much to do. Very disappointing effort.
Gl with your selections today - we cd do with a few winners!!!! |

Really disappointing to be going into Saturday playing catch-up again. The only saving grace is that the other teams haven't really fired any big shots. That will happen at some stage, and if we carry as we are then we are going to be fighting out for the bottom places, not the top. You can only have a realistic chance if everyone is contributing. At the moment that isn't happening. Do we actually want to win?
I got lucky twice last week with the Aintree winner that was subsequently disqualified, and then a nice winner on Sunday, only because I chose to do my flat catch-up on that morning. Chances are that won't happen again, at least not for a while. I had a couple of ante-post bets on Scottish Champion Hurdle. At the moment that looks a decent position, four places at much bigger odds. Both have to step up on what they have previously done, and if Tutti Quanti repeats Newbury, he is going to be very difficult to beat. Was that the freak result of the season? Anyway, those two are now too short, as is Park Princess who was available at 6/4 last night. I was tempted to put up Affinitive again, but was concerned about the softer ground and the booking of Powell. I have risked him myself, but couldn't put him up on here. He is very weak in the market. So that left me with:- 4.48 Ayr Sea Tempest EW Looks the part, and has some decent horses in the family. Was switched on for his debut, but unfortunately the jock wasn't. He should have won. I think that was an above average race for the track. As a 4yo, he gets a few pounds off most of his rivals. A better ride, and he should at least be in the mix. Fingers crossed. Good luck today. Hopefully, we can at least get something on the board. |

Thanks guys and good luck

Disappointed, as for 95% of that race he looked like winning, but in the end the winner had too much speed. On another day he might have got boxed. By a rubbish sire in Dartmouth which makes it a bit worse. Could have done without it being backed from 16/1-10/1 as well. At least we got something on the board. Not sure how the rest have done.
|
|
By:
Again, nobody has smashed it in the first week, and consequently, although we are bottom, it's still all to play for. Had Affinitive actually won, we would be top. We had a bit of luck today, but at least we got three out of four scores. If we are to move up we need to up that ratio, and convert a few places into winners. It is worth remembering 100 points a week is less than a 1/2 winner for each player.
